[Q] root access lost - AT&T LG Optimus G

could somebody plz help me???
I flashed the kit kat rom a week ago and today when I wanted to install a root app, it told me that I don't have root access anymore, I tried to update SU but it asked me to enter to recovery mode and I don't have recovery installed neither!!!
I don't know what to do and I appreciate your help, thank you in advance

Um if you flashed the rom then you have recovery. Download quick boot app, use it to get to recovery. You'll need to flash supersu zip in Recovery, Idk what the latest version is but you found this website so you can Google it.

[Q] Cant boot into recovery

Im trying to root my phone and I read online I need to get into recovery mode but my phone is going to Android recovery mode. It doesn't give me an option to install the zip file from my sdcard. Only options I get is reboot , reinstall packages, del all user data, and del cache data. Im using the OCLF from the market to get root. thanks
p.s I also used Odin to flash JI6 so not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Go to market, download rom manager, flash clockwork, then install rom.
thanks I will try this
Thread moved to Q&A.
Hit reinstall packages after using one click root and you should be rooted

[Q] Help with my s3

ok first of all i am very new to the world of rooting.
i rooted my phone using cf root and then uninstalled the super su unrooting it.
after that i wanted to root again it took good 50 minutes for me to root and then my phone went into boot loop and now it would only go to download mode not recovery mode please help
Not enough details to figure out what went wrong. But it sounds like you need to flash a new rom when in download mode.

Download official firmware flashable via ODIN. Flash the official firmware than root again. This should solve the problem... Best of luck buddy...

[Q] installation of rom keep aborting(section7)error

Hello and sorry to post this problem here as i have the tmobile note but i used the att i717 rooting method from rootgalaxynote.com ofcourse did not use an att based rom but a tmobile one( cm10.1 rc2) . The problem is after clearing everything i then proceed to install the new rom using cwm and it says "install aborted" error section 7 ive tried it a few times cleared everything again and still nothing. Dont know if i need to update cwm and if so how vers.5.0.5 or something like that or is it the build which is the lates update by tmo uvlma1 and the instructions were from may of 2012. Please help i have gone back to stock for now as i did backup first. Ps i have installed titanium backup pro and and superuser and have even frozen some of the bloatware from tmo so im guessing i am rooted. Please help as the tmo threads are dead and no help from no one!! Thanks a bunch guys
Just update your recovery dude.
Twrp is superior to cwm imo anyway.
This has been discussed many times. Since you are coming from T-Mobile forum here is a link which was recently discussed. Staus 7 means you need to upgrade your recovery.

You did not check the link and you ignored the other users recommendation.
Recovery from rom manager will not work. Twrp recovery is good for our devicw. Flash twrp and you will be ok. Follow the instruction from link provided

so i download the twrp file and flash through odin? the problem is my phone doesnt stay on. it just boot loops to the samsung logo. sorry for misunderstanding not to go through rom manager. thanks so much osterizerblender for helping me with links just need to know how to do this procedure.
Your phone will stay in download mode to flash a recovery.
Once flashed boot into that every and flash a Rom within.
Put your phone to download mode. Make sure you have drivers installed. Open odin(i used v1.85). Put the twrp recovery tar file in to pda slot. Conect your phone to your computer in download mode. Once odin finds your device then press start.

[Q] Can't access recovery

Hi im hoping someone can help me.
I rooted my phone using the easy root method, I had philz dual recovery and flashed a rom. I installed superSU from the play store (when I should have flashed it) and now I can't access my recovery. I've tried rerooting and reflashing using all three methods for installing the recovery and none are working. Does anyone have a solution to this, I've got a backup of my stock rom etc. but I cant access it or recover it without a recovery. Im pretty much lost on this, I posted in the recovery thread but it didnt get answered.

When you flash a rom when using a recovery for locked bootloaders then it deletes the recovery
You have to reinstall your recovery

Thanks for the reply. I've tried doing that but it won't work, I dont know if it has something with Superuser? it says it cant update the binaries. Either way I've tried all 3 options on the process to install the recover (install with SuperSU, Install with SuperUser and install on unrooted rom)

ReRoot with Doomlords Rootkit in the original development sections
Then reinstall your recovery

Why not just use the dual recovery installer instead of the zip?

heres the link for NUTs download page, http://nut.xperia-files.com/ file your looking for is
Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.7.129-BETA.installer.zip (10.59MB)
this appears to be the latest version and is 17th link from the bottom of the right hand list
the flashable zip is just left of the installer
It should mean if u install a new rom and lose recovery just run the installer from windows and it should give u back recovery

Thanks, unfortunately thats what I have been using to try and regain recovery. Any other ideas? Im really struggling, I thought maybe if I unrooted and just re-rooted correctly it might help but I can't find an FTF file for my network I can only find unbranded which I very much doubt would work.
anyone?
I'm in the exact same position. I flashed monx 438 rom and I don't know what happened, I can't get into recovery either. I'm on unlocked bootloader. I have tried flashing the boot.img from 438 advanced stock kernel but at the command prompt it keeps on saying waiting for device. I have root access.
Same here.
I have a stock .402 ROM, unlocked bootloader and rooted. Have flashed the recovery a few times, and still cant get into it. Even when trying to access recovery via cmd prompt "adb reboot recovery"
I too am in the same boat... I rooted my phone, primarily to add the kitkat sd card fix, which works...
Then I went through the motion of unlocking bootloader, which I assume worked cos it wiped my phone clean. Had to reinstall everything...
Then I went through the motion of installing Cwm recovery. This went through OK. Well according to the command prompt it did.
But still I can't access recovery. I get no flashing LED lights before the Sony logo comes up, and then it just boots into normal phone mode.
I am on UK 3 network if it makes any difference......
I'd really love to be able to access my recovery cos I'm dying to apply the dual speaker and volume hack....
Don't know where to go from here..........
Just to add, I flashed to firmware 402 (uk unbranded) and re-rooted the phone and re-installed cwm recovery, but I get no led lights and no recovery mode. Oh well, just like a number one hit for 'the who', it was never meant to be....lol
sorry to resurrect but I have the same issue. how did you guys get back into recovery
I use a kernel with recovery
Vol up - cwm
Vol down - twrp
Cam key - philz
I can't flash kernol because I can't get into recovery even using the app to force boot

I have no recovery mode on my device. What to do?

Hello everyone,
I have an LG G PRO 2 d838 device. I didnt do any custom work to it except rooting. It is running the stock kitkat 4.4 rom. I have not encountered any issues with the device before.
I was looking into upgrading to lollipop but OTA update is not available for rooted devices. So i was trying to load into stock recovery mode using buttons method but it didnt work. I instslled Quick boot app and used it to boot into recovery but when it was supposed to show recovery menu, an image of a droid laying on its back with chest open and a red triangle with an exclamation mark on it appeared.
I installed rom manager and it says clockword recovery is not available for my device.
I dont know where to go from here. Is there anyway to install recovery mode/bootloader under these circumstances?
Thanks in advance

You can still install recovery. HERE is the link of APK for installing recovery on LG G Pro 2.
Instructions:
1. You must be rooted!
2. Install apk
3. Open it and click Install Recovery and then reboot to recovery!
Here we go, recovery installed, but only one problem. It is only usage for installing ZIP files, not for making backups!
Here is also CWM recovery but it is for lollipop: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...covery-cwm-recovery-lollipop-booyaah-t3035831
Thank you. I'll try these solutions.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this anyway?
