I think I may have completely bricked my phone as it gets to the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen and restarts itself. The kicker here is that it will not boot into recovery mode and upon trying it simply shows the "booting into recovery" in the top left and then goes black and resets again.
A bit of backstory:
Following instructions from here (Update Verizon Galaxy S3 I535 with CM10.2 Android 4.3 JB Custom ROM), I attempted to do exactly what was described in that article and everything was running smoothly until the "Warning, content not authorized by verizon has been installed etc" screen came up, which was weird because I had in fact unlocked my bootloader a while back but for whatever reason it seemed to have been knocked out. After going through multiple guides I tried another factory reset with cache / dalvik clear and attempted to install an unlocked bootloader and figured as long as I could get it started it would be a win in the moment, sadly, none of the methods I had found worked and resorted to a guide that directed me to the factory kernel / rom for my phone (SCH - 1535), which I then tried to install using Odin.
After that I figured it had fixed itself as it booted past the "unauthorized content" screen but now simply does what I stated above. Any help is appreciated.
@JDiTo

If you really have an i9300 and you've flashed something for an i535 then yes, you've probably bricked it. Try a full stock rom flash via odin, otherwise a repair centre.
If you actually have an i535 then you've posted in the wrong forum, this is only for i9300 -the international model.

Verizon Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE (sch-i905)
So I got this tablet from a friend who said it was bricked, said I could have it if I got it working. So I plug it in and it turns on no problem, strange. wiped tablet and added a couple apps. Got busy at work and the tablet drain power. That's when I got to see it bricked, but still not sure why it booted for a bit for me.
Symptoms:
Boots to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 splash screen (not the animated one after), sits there for ever.
Boots to Odin update mode
When booting to recovery I get a blank, back lit screen and nothing ever.
I've tried:
-Pushing clockwork mode to fix recovery
-I've had a hell of a time finding stock firmware for some reason (it isn't on sammobile), but I did find one eventually. I pushed it to the tablet via Odin, and it was successful, but rebooted to blank black back-lit screen. Have to hard boot and hold power buttun until I see the splash screen to get that far. I followed the guide on rootzwiki reposted on icsforums - www icsforums com/forum/showthread / 13525 (sorry new member can't post links)
-Followed another guide that involved draining battery completely, no go.
I don't care what firmware I end up on, or if I can use LTE (I won't anyway)
I'm a network engineer so I'm tech savy, but not heavy on Android OS. I'm looking for anything else I can try. I saw another method involving heimdall suite, but can't find the files for my model.
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
@Juicebox4242
I had this problem on my gt-p7510...
What I ended up doing was wiping my sdcard..I must have had something corrupt in my file system or a kernel issue( still not sure which )..
Since you have no recovery..I think you can use odin to repartition ( I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THIS IS JUST A GUESS )..I have not tried it..but i will search after this post to confirm..I also believe there is a way using ADB..again not sure..
I just wanted to post this so you would know somebody was looking and to maybe give you a couple ideas to follow up on...I'll search around and see what I find
Edit...I believe ADB will only work with usb debugging checked...But you can flash a stock rom in odin with re-partition checked..you need a .pit file....I think...
Edit...Here is a link to a stock rom thread for you're device..It seems to have helped a couple people with their soft-bricked devices..just follow directions in OP..no repartition checked. I cant even find a .pit file to do a re-partition with for you're device..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342995 Let me know if this works for you..
Thanks for the post!! Really appreciate it.
That firmware is the one I found in the end and tried. Odin pushes it ok, but then still doesn't boot. In fact after pushing that firmware it boots to backlit blank screen, but when hard reset boots to splash screen.
I tried a pit file I found that I thought was the right one, but it failed when I used that so it must have been wrong.

I have the exact same problem as you, except sometimes I can't my tablet to boot. I know it is a software problem because before I was messing with recovery yesterday, everything was working just fine. All I wanted to do was restore to factory settings and instead ended up bricking the device... If you find / know the answer, please do share.

Did you ever get this fixed? I've had the same problem for months. I just gave up and put it away. I recently fixed a Galaxy Tab 2 and now I want to see if anyone else was able to fix this i905 not booting issue.
did anyone know the solution of this question
I recently updated my Rooted GS4 to 4.3
I started by downloading the sofftware then when i went to install it, it brought me to Clockwork recovery saying that what i was trying to install was unknown or something but i knew it was the firmware so i accepted it. It all went through installing and was booting up but stayed at the Yellow Sprint screen. for a long time
I read multiple forums looking for what to do, i reset it first by taking out the battery(over 5 times), then i tried it without the sim or sd in. Nothing. I tried wiping the data and cache from CWR still yellow screen. i am about to try restoring it to the stock rom (currently downloading it) but before i wanted to come here for help on how to do it or anything else i can possibily do.
Please help. :crying:
I recently went to unlock my phone via Z3X box, my phone was on 4.3 they said to downgrade to 4.1, I followed the steps using Cygwin Terminal in making a custom firmware, I flashed it via Odin and it passed, however was stuck at the Samsung Logo, no usally in this case I would boot into recovery and wipe data and cache, however my Home Button does not work, so I used my Jig to force in to download mode and flashed stock I747m 4.3, went to boot and same thing stuck at the Samsung logo???? any ideas what's wrong here???

Tried to factory reset after the 4.3 upgrade? Sounds like you might have borked your EFS partition with the z3x box, if a reset doesn't help...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471421
Some info from there might be helpful if you are still stuck. I know it is for the Note 3, but many of the same ideas apply, though the mount points are most likely different thus you can't just copy and paste those commands and hope it works (might even make it worse if the partitions are that different).
Is the Home button broken or just stopped working after trying to do this stuff?
Yeah the Home button just doesn't work when you press it that's why I needed the Jig to get in to Download Mode, and the phone was fine after trying with Z3X box it didn't do anything with Samsung tools because I was on 4.3 it started when I created that custom firmware and flashed it, haven't been able to get it to boot since that even with Stock Firmware..
Think you might need to check out this thread then:

Sounds like an issue with the downgrade / bootloader deal. No Home button sounds like it might really cause some issues here though. Owning a repair shop, I'm pretty familiar with the S3 construction and it's pretty rare that the Home button stops working. Has it been repaired or gotten wet or something?
the phone was water damaged I just replaced the main board with a new one and the phone was fine minus the Home Button, and I have tried the SD card thing about 3 times now and it doesn't do anything???
Okay, so I'm a newb playing with fire. I wanted to look at getting Cyanogenmod installed on a Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy SIII from Walmart. I followed the steps on (I can't post a URL, but I googled how to install cyanogenmod galaxy s3 and it's the first result) up until step #8 never happened (a blue transfer bar never appeared.)
At this point, I wanted to withdraw, but attempting to power on my phone yielded the SAMSUNG screen with (booting recovery...) at the top left, which lasted a half second before the phone went dark again. I couldn't get it to do anything but this for several tries, until finally I tried entering download mode again. I was able to, and by saying no to installing a custom ROM (volume down button) I was able to boot into the phone normally. At -this- point, I decided I'd try to factory reset the phone, just to make sure I didn't leave any traces from mucking about in the phone's metaphysical guts. However, after confirming a factory reset, the phone would power off, power on, and do the same SAMSUNG (booting recovery...) thing, and I couldn't start it again unless I entered download mode and skipped installing a custom ROM.
So, at this point, I can't factory reset the phone. I'm guessing that my shennaningans with zadig.exe removed the phone's original factory reset recovery files. I'm trying to run through the steps at(again, can't post URL, googled easiest way to unroot galaxy S3 and the android extremist link was the first result) but Straight Talk isn't listed as one of the carriers for the stock file downloads in that tutorial, and while it's an S3 through ST on Verizon's towers, I'd -hate- to assume that I should just get the stock files listed as Verizon's, because I don't want to take a chance of really, really bricking this phone. I don't know if Straight Talk has a unique model of the phone, if it uses Verizon's model number (when on their towers), or what, and I'm scared to proceed. Help?
You are in the wrong forum.
Ok, first up I know there are many posts out there about this issue because I've looked at most of them and tried them so please bear with me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy GT-N8010, about 4 years old. I have never rooted or done anything to the firmware in all that time except OTA updates & the occasional factory reset to clean things up.
Couple of months ago it was on, i had been using it and put it down and when i came back it was on the Samsung logo screen and has been ever since.
Since i could get into the download page even though it was already bricked I figured i'd try rooting to see if i could fix the problem. Now possibly i should have attempted to get into recovery mode first but I attempted to install CWM (as per posts here). It appeared to install fine. But no recovery partition, screen blinks and goes back to the logo.
I've tried flashing stock firmware, TWRP, CWM - all 'appear' to install successfully according to ODIN, but nothing changes, still stuck on the logo screen.
So does this sound like a hardware issue or am i missing something? The Tab A 10.1 with s-pen looks great, would be a perfect replacement, but is not available in NL
Thanks guys (& gals)
