You should be fine with your h-boot. What recovery do you have. 4ext is recomended and be sure to wipe everything except sd card before flashing ROMs. There is no harm in wiping everything twice, just to be sure

I got s-off on hboot 1.5.
but now i want to downgrade my hboot.
how do i do this if i already have s-off?

If you are S-OFF and the bootloader says LOCKED, you aren't really locked.
S-OFF, is S-OFF.
I'm assuming you used the wire trick?
If so, then it's normal for it to say locked.

man s-off is way more important than an unlocked bootloader s-off lets you overwrite over data , system and boot partition , u can flash any custom rom but just making a full wipe and flash the zip file no bootloops no need to downgrade ur hboot and no to unlock the bootloader , once u achieve s-off u can do whatever u want

Download the ROM.
Boot into Recovery.
Wipe all Data.
Flash the ZIP.
All is good and done.

Many EVO 3D users S-Off their device but some like me didn't as 4EXT recovery is working nice on S-on users.
BUT
the only problem is newer baseband(radio) 11.77.3504.00P_11.25.3504.06_M is not installing in S-ON devices because it is not signed. So, anybody please help in installing this baseband for S-ON users. by signing it or by any other method.

You either need to get s off, or run an ruu with the latest radio.

IT IS NOT THE SAME!believe me!if you don't unlock via htcdec(with other method) you can revert back to locked s-on.if you unlock with htcdev you can only go to relocked s-on so they know you messed with your phone.unfortunately, for hboot 1.5 there is no other method.only for 1.4

Just downgrade your hboot using cd method, use 1.40+revolutionary, use powduh/commonsens/meanrom and custom kernel and you will find your phone flying high... And at last you still can get back to haboot 1.50 locked

I don't know if the same is true for the GSM model, but doing the JuopunutBear (wire trick) method for S-OFF left the two CDMA Evo 3D's that I have with a ***LOCKED*** bootloader even though it was ***UNLOCKED*** previously, and those were both on hboot 1.5. The bootloaders are still ***LOCKED*** and I use custom hboots to be able to use the fastboot commands that a locked stock bootloader doesn't allow.

I've previously rooted my EVO 4G and just recently, my Transformer TF101.
I'm finally bored enough with my EVO LTE. I booted to the Recovery/info screen and snagged a screenshot (attached).
I'd rather NOT wipe everything off my phone by using HTC's unlock.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I thought 1.15 was latest.....o.o
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
1.19 is the latest hboot and as far as I know the only way to root is to unlock hboot. There is a universal root tool but it won't let you flash roms and if I'm not mistaken it still unlocks hboot on newer htc phones
I have the new HBOOT 1.19 and Im unlocked, rooted and have TWRP recovery. Being s-on or s-off isn't a big deal. I could pretty much do what anyone with s-off could do but only thing is I have to approach it differently.

I have hboot 1.19 and my software version is 2.13.651.1 710RD. I'm unlocked, rooted and also have TWRP recovery and am s-on. When I rooted my phone it also gave me SuperSU. I'm super lost now because I can't flash any ROMs to my phone. I've tried the charmeleon ROM and also the tranquility ROM but when TWRP is at the end of the Installing process it says that it failed and that there is no md5 or something like that.
what am I doing wrong?
You have to flash the kernel separately unless you're S-off (or Hboot 1.12, then it doesn't matter).

Does anyone know of any kernels that would work for the Evo LTE with what I described up top?
Get the ROM you wanna flash, then pull the boot.IMG out of it's zip , then either fastboot flash that or use flash image GUI to flash while booted, the go to recovery and flash new ROM.
Boot.IMG contains the kernel.

MeanROM and JellyBomb Domination as well as others have kernel installers written into the script for people that are S-ON so no need to flash the kernel separatly. Click the names in my SIG to go to those threads
Also make sure you are using the latest version of twrp 2.3.1.0
Hi guys
I have an Evo 3D GSM with S-OFF and an unlocked bootloader (HBOOT 1.53.0007).
Unlocked with HTCdev and then I flashed clockworkmod (4.0.1.4?) but I'm unable to flash a ROM. Have tried a full wipe but all that happens is the phone gets stuck in a boot loop.
Appreciate any help
Thanks.

Are you sure you're S-off? HTCDev doesn't give you S-off, and that could be the problem

The S-OFF was from a previous unlock. I had to RUU which relocked the bootloader so I unlocked it with HTCdev. The bootloader says the device is s-off

You can only use sense ics roms with that hboot, if you are flashing a jellybean/gingerbread rom you should downgrade it.

Would you be able to suggest the best HBOOT version. Previously I had a JB ROM with HBOOT 1.49.1107 but had issues, would that be the best one. (The camcorder wouldn't work before, except with sense ROMs, assumed this was a driver issue?)
Thanks for your help

Thanks. I'm now on 1.49.0007 which is running fine. Before, the camera would crash about ~4secs in to video recording. maybe ~20secs at 480p.
The ROMs said the only bugs were no 3D support and graphical tears. I've tested the video recording on this HBOOT and it seems to be better, though I don't know if this is coincidental or not.
