It's okay to installing it via Recovery.:crying:

I had had written in 5830i section only so it will work

if @Hitesh2626 solution didn't work .. try this
YOUR MOBILE MUST HAVE WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION :good:
log on google play on desktop
install any launcher e.g. ADW launcher
it will auto installed on your phone
after installation finish press on the app on the notification bar & here you are :good:
you have a new launcher and you can get back everything working again
hope this helps

Okay. So download any launcher (2.3 )
Now place it to a folder
Open terminal/cmd
Type this- adb push folder'sname/appname system/app
Or download a launcher,Aroma File Manager(google it) and move it to SD Card
Boot into recovery
Find your apk and move/copy it to system/app
Permissions should be rw-r-r
Hope this works
Regards!!

Flash it!

Flashing a complete ROM after removing a Launcher is not in my opinion a right decision
Installing a custom Launcher like Hitesh, Ahmad Barayez and DC07 said pretty well solves the issue
However, if someone has adb set up correctly, he can just type in this command
Code:
adb install [i]Launcher.apk[/i]
Replace Launcher.apk with the name of Launcher of your choice

[HOW TO]Install Gapps on CM7 for Gen8

This is just a short howto to bring Gapps on Cyanogenmod 7 for Archos Gen8 devices:
First you need two things:
-download a root file explorer like Astro or ES Filemanager or Rootexplorer(costs a few bucks but its still worth! you only can copy a apk of it if you purchased and installed rootexplorer in stock archos firmware. copy the apk in stock firmware from /system/app to sdcard, so you can install it in the bootet CM7)
-download gapps for CM7: http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
Second you must extract your gapps.....signed.zip to sdcard.
Now make a reboot and boot CM7!!!
The following steps will not work in stock Archos firmware!!
Take your root file explorer and mark all apps in the extracted folder /sdcard/gapps-gb-20110613-signed/system/app and copy all apks to /system/app.
Now close file manager and reboot your device.
Once your device reboots it should take you to the start up wizard.
Open market and enjoy your CM7 on your device!!!
If this helps or if you can improve this how to you are welcome!!
Sorry for my bad english, i read it better than write it correctly

what can it be?
just says "failed to copy"
thx
Sorry dont know what the reason could be.
Its. Needs to be rooted to copy the files?
I think you have root if you use cyanogen mod 7 - or do you use stock firmware?

Even if he use stock firmware, he have root (installing the boot menu gives root)
What file explorer do you use? Try a different one

i used es file explorer and astro (payed version)
Astro gives me the notification that it failed to copy
Es doesnt do a thing
ill try root explorer too then.
Edit : root explorer doesnt copy it either :s
ok i got it , booted in cyanogen , used root explorere there and could copy
in stock firmware archos i didnt get asked for super user permission....
Because you don't have root in Stock.
Just edited my first post to boot (after extracting all zips) to CM7.
Hope its clearer now.

I find it funny your saying boot to CM7 all gapps does is give you market, and other google apps. It does not give you CyanogenMod.

i find it funny you haven't read all lines......if you would have, you would have seen that i sayd "....copy the apk in stock firmware from /system/app to sdcard, so you can install it in the bootet CM7!"
that means i assume you have already installed CM7.....and the thread says it too:
"How to install GAPPS on CM7 for Gen8" and not "How to install CM7 and GAPPS on CM7 for Gen8!"

How to install themes without APK?

i asked in few threads but seems people are not willing to answer this question, and in threads with roms whom includes custom themes, do not have instructions how to install. So how to do that?

Always search first post of specific thread for answers you will find your answer, or at least search your question before posting
you are not specific to your question
Q.1 Which Firmware are you using
Q.2 Is it Rooted
Q.3 what kind of theme is that (a CWM Flashable, xRecovery Flashable or Manual)
If you are using stock firmware then you will have to root, then you find a compatible theme and apply it according to the method provided by the theme maker
same applies to Custom ROM but they are already rooted and you might already have a recovery software installed
e.g
if its flashable by xRecovery you can go to xRecovery and flash it
if its flashable by CWM you can go to CWM and flash it
if you don't want to flash it go to Root Explorer copy that Framework-res.apk and replace it in system/framework directory and change permission to rw-r--r-- and reboot your device
and above all Backup your device before doing these because first time you might do it wrong and stuck up in boot loop
im using cm mini 7 v20 for rooted mini pro, i dont know if themes are flashable or not, they dont write that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217611
not everyone are captain obvious to know what type they are
thanks for responding!

its a Flashable zip, can be done via CWM
or you can manually copy & Replace those apks to their respective destination after extracting
and change permission to rw-r--r--
but be sure to backup first

so you want to do it manually.
first i must tell you as it is for older miniCM version it might cause problems
First extract your zip in SD card
copy apks from framework and apps folders
mount /system to rw and paste them to system folder
change permission of each apk to rw-r--r-- by press-holding and clicking permission in root explorer
make sure all apks have permission of rw-r--r--
move and replace framework-res.apk from /system to /system/farmework/
move and replace all other apks from /system to /system/apps/
Reboot
Thats it; if you done it correctly then it will go fine
or you can try themes from here by installing apks Here
The apks can be extracted and installed directly, no copying and setting permissions needed. However the core framework of cm7 must have changed since these were made as they don't render properly on newer cm7 based roms

[SOLVED] I need a favor (if it's possible). [CWM Related]

So I was bored at work and did something stupid. Now I'm wondering if there is some way to fix it without having to flash my entire phone.
Is there someway a single file can be deleted using a CWM update zip. The file is the ported version of google now and having installed it using root explorer it is stopping my phone from booting entirely.
The file is "system/app/velvet.apk".
If anyone is experienced at CWM and knows how this can be achieved then I would be extremely grateful.
SOLUTION: Flashed a stock nandroid backup of the system, managing not to lose my data.

I would imagine you could use adb to delete the file. Install the Android SDK on your computer and use adb shell to delete the offending file from bootloader mode. Havent tried it before myself, but I believe that's what adb is for amongst other things?
p.s. You should post this in Q&A forum and you might get a better response. This is not dev related.

Ok will try it at work, or at home. Thanks for the suggestion. Will post in the Q&A forum as well.
Velvet.apk isn't that the voice reg. From jellybean, that shouldn't stop your phone from booting.the app would only FC.
Adb or reflash as suggested above
Tell someone to make it cwm flashable. Boot to recovery and flash. Make a new thread or ask for this a mod to rename it.
Something like this " make velvet.apk cwm flashable".
Cheers

[ROM] Stock OTA_T6_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_2.61.401.3-1.54.401.1_release ROM

Dears,
I've received the OTA_T6_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_2.61.401.3-1.54.401.1_release update, and integrated it with my ROM, and I backed it up via TWRP recovery (System/Boot)
if you want to try it , your MAX must be GSM ,it is fully functional, and stock /unrooted and without any modifications.
And it requires few simple step to install it :
1- download the file ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/r1yctvgu68jxomh/2014-03-26--18-11-42 KOT49H release-keys.zip )
2- Extract it
3- Put it in TWRP backup folder on your SDcard ( TWRP/BACKUP/FA3NK..../
4- Full wipe/ format system/ clear cache /
5- Restore
6- Enjoy!

make a backup of your own rom.
check sd card
there is a folder... i think twrp
in there there will be a backup folder
in there, there will be another one... pretty cryptic ... for me its something like DHSFSFS01
in there there is your backup... you can delete it if you want or keep it
copy the folder of the rom from this thread to DHSFSFS01 or what its called on your phone...
now back in recovery you can restore both... your rom and the one you downloaded

That means the system partition is write protected.
You will need to edit the file and flash it in recovery for the changes to take.

editing a rom zip before flashing it

hey guys hope u are doing fine , so lately there being this way to hide the system folder of a rom zip so u can't access the system/app or syste/priv-app so i really need to edit a rom like RN or lineageOS before flashing it , is there a way u can show me please ?
The /system folder is inside system.imgin the zip
Use 7zip to extract just that, mount the IMG with some kind of special program (windows doesn't recognise ext4 partitions) edit it, then put the IMG back in the same zip.
BTW, I came across a good tutorial on what you are trying to do some time ago. I don't remember if it was here, on XDA. Have you tried googling it?

Well, the way I see it, it's more work to modify the IMG than to use the recovery's file manager.
Also, an idea I had while typing the above, you can write a small script to automate the process. You can the run that script from the recovery's built-in shell.
I can help you with this.
