If you can't boot it into recovery, it's pretty much bricked. Look around for people offering to JTAG it to recover.
Before I consider helping you, why on earth would you attempt flashing this? Why not instead flash a 4.3 rom? I have to know you were intentionally trying to lock your bootloader before I try to help....it just feels so wrong giving instructions for locking a bootloader

I bet it would still get into download mode since aboot wasnt flashed, well I guess it depends on whether or not the phone even attempts to boot or not though. I've gotten my S4 out of qhusb by keep the charger plugged in and constantly removing and inserting the battery.

Very likely. It's pretty hard to brick this phone into a state where it can't be recovered.
However, I've seen people do amazing things like flashing GS3 ROMs and wondering why they didn't work. Or less crazy, flashing AT&T ROMs on a VZ phone. People that stupid are why Verizon is so anal about locking down their phones.
I was just trying to update it to 4.3 since OTA didnt work I taught this was stock odin flashable image...

Stock mean locked boot loader!!
What USB cable did you use and what port on the computer? While it's a bit of a stupid question I had a problem like that when doing an ODIN restore and tried all kinds of fixes including a totally different computer and it turns out the USB cable I was using was crap even though it'd transfer files over fine, ODIN didn't like it.
If you can't get it out of QHUSB DLOAD with button pressing, you can try this tool http://forum.legija.net/showthread....g-galaxy-S4-(i9505-and-similar)-via-USB-Cable.

It was COM3 port, and it was OEM samsung usb cable...
I Tried everything i can but there is no way to get into download/recovery mod...
I had a similar problem the other day, don't worry. Depending on whatever build you were on before you bricked it, download that baseband and odin it on there. It did wonders for me and should work for you.
Solved... The device was hardbricked.... JTAG did the trick, cost me about 35$

Hey there.
First post. I used Odin 3.1 to flash Froyo 2.2 on my Vibrant that was running Eclair 2.1, and Odin showed a successful completion. The phone then turned off and instead of re-booting, has become totally, utterly unresponsive.
I have tried a number of ways to get it to work, or at least get in to Download or Recovery mode, including the "remove everything, then re-insert battery while holding down volume up/down keys" and any number of key combinations. I've trowled the forum and haven't found a single solution for a completely unresponsive Vibrant. even the USB jig seems to be for those phones that at least show the Vibrant Logo or the "S" at start-up, while mine doesn't do anything.
The only encouraging thing has been posts by people who claim to have lefft their unresponsive Vibrants plugged in for several hours only to have them miraculously revive, but that seems like a long shot to me.
Have I managed to do the impossible and brick an unbrickable phone? I'd really appreciate help as I just got the phone last week and don't want to declare it a dead loss so soon.
Cheers!
Utterly, haha

thinking.. above was a joke...
What ODIN files did you flash? Link to them?
What version of ODIN, the latest?
When you say nothing... you mean you can't see anything on the phone, regardless of the action?
rofl OMG is that chick half naked hahaha seriously is she in her undies milking a cow WTF! LMFAO!
- so the phone won't turn on huh?...... no power at all?....... how about plug in the cord, do you see the batt charge?
haha utterly.. when you say put in the battery while holding the volume keys, did you put in the battery or plug in the USB??
I had to replace mine. Been good ever since.

Here's the long story. My phone was getting the 'device unrecognized' error in Kies and Kies Mini, so I used Odin 3.0 to flash it, using the "T959UVKA6_REV05_home_low_CL860813.tar.md5" file.
After flashing, my phone wouldgo into recovery mode and the following error.
"E:Cant mount /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:cant mount DBDATA:
copy default media content failed."
Next I followed the steps detailed in this post . When I flashed my phone according to the 'Gauranteed Solution', my phone turned off at the end of the flash and has stayed off ever since.
And when I say nothing, I mean nothing. No battery symbol, no sound, no Samsung Vibrant logo, nothing. Just a blank screen.
I tried plugging in the phone and then putting in the battery with the volume keys pressed and I also tried it without plugging in the USB. Either way, nothing happens.
As you can probably guess, I'm a n00b of the first order and I fear I might have killed my phone.
If you do manage to revive your phone back.. You better flash roms via cmw. Not that odin isn't great but cmw never caused any problems(to me).
Make a jig to force download mode then reflash stock os and install rom manager to flash roms. P.m for more Info.

Thats funny, the last post in the link you referenced is someone having the same problem as you........ why would you try to do that? and the .tar is some I9000 file being that the (fix) was in the I9000 forum. Neither of these probably have anything to do with your problem now i just thought it was funny. I mean why wouldn't you just use the T959UVJFD.tar in ODIN?
It seems that the "E:cant mount" error is a fairly common issue and from what i am seeing alot of the people having this issue after using samsung kies are getting replacements fairly easily although it is a last resort for many. I would not think its an issue with your drivers or anything like that, probably just ODIN being weird. Don't give up on ODIN i would assume that it will recognize the phone eventually as most "DEAD" vibrants do after time. I'll keep looking into it for you. Hope you find a fix soon. Good luck!
You can also restart the computer and f8 and turn off driver signing and see if that helps. Once again I don't mind helping on a more personal basis. P.m me.

To update via kies you don't need download mode.
Just connect the usb cable with the phone on.

I know, it put the phone in download mode by itself, while trying to install the update!
Guys, please help..
uninstall your Kies and reinstall it please.
My advice would be to ditch it for the piece of crap that it is and use Odin to flash the firmware.

I use odin and have used KIES in the past. What I find is that when you flash with odin you have to clear data on a lot of apps to make them work. I have never encountered this issue when updating the "regular" way. Odin does get the updates faster, but it seems to work cleaner.

Try the update again and when it fails and you have to restart the phone yourself, don't close down kies, instead reconnect the phone to your pc. It should if i remember correctly go into a recovery mode and complete the install.

It didnt help, when i restarted the phone and plugged it back, kies didn't do anything and it was waiting for me to close the error message. I clicked ok and the upgrade was closed I got back to the same position as when I just plug the phone..
I got the exact same problem and I have tried everything in this thread.
My theori is that the computer (win7) doesn't recognice the phone correctly after the restart into Download Mode.
When I first connect the phone with the USB cable win7 recognices that phone as Samsung USB Modem, but when Kies restarts the phone into Download Mode the computer states that it is Samsung USB Modem #2 or sometimes even #3 or #4.
And I don't have a clue how to solve this.
Ok, using a different computer has solved the problem
thank you guys
I have solved it for this time.
I uninstalled program and drivers. Rebooted and changed USB connection. Installed Kies and drivers again. Then it worked.
Just took me about 20 times of testing and 2-3 reinstalls.
Using Odin, I accidentally repartitioned my phone and didn't flash anything else besides the PIT file. What do I do? My phone doesn't turn on when plugged into the computer or the wall outlet. Is there anything I can do?
My phone is pretty much done, isn't it?
What the hell.... Anyways.... Pit always repartitions your phone. Did you flash anything after that? Details are lacking.
You can't get back into download mode to reflash?

No, because I wasn't able to use the phone at all after. The phone is dead. It won't do anything. There is no sign of life. I repartitioned it with a pit file and hit start. After that, the phone wouldn't work at all.
Because.... you need to follow steps and read.
You need to start over.... Odin the pit... then follow the steps and odin the rom you want to flash. Your phone isn't gone... yet.

But will this work even though Odin can't see my phone, since my phone acts as if there's no battery? It doesn't function at all. So when I plug it in, nothing happens and Odin never sees my phone.
Actually, my phone is responding all of a sudden, so now I'm flashing my phone with Odin.
Why is Odin stuck at this part of the flash?

you could also try something totally different and try heimdall with a different usb port, if that doesn't work then I'm definitely not sure what else you could try.
did you leave your battery in when you went into download mode to flash the stock rom? if you did, take the battery out, hook up the cable to a usb port hold down the - volume button along with the power button and it should boot into download mode

no problem, sir! I'm glad to help
I've been searching XDA and Google for months now and I haven't found anyone else with this precise issue. I'm very tech savvy, but this is just beyond me! What say you? Will you help me in my quest to diagnose my device and possibly find a cure?
Listed below is what occurs when the USB Cable is connected, either via PC or the Wall.
While USB Cable is disconnected:
Pressing or holding any of the buttons, together or individually, does absolutely nothing. (But the battery can't be dead. I've had the thing on charge all night!)
When USB Cable is connected:
http://youtu.be/J8FJSo_S7cQ
Without pressing anything, the device powers on into download mode and continues to reboot itself every few minutes.
Holding the power button (or all buttons together) reboots it back into download mode to repeat what I just described above.
Pressing any/all buttons at this point does nothing.
When I disconnect the USB Cable from the device while in Download Mode, the device shuts off after about 20 seconds.
I have seen this on occasion, but nothing different happens:
(I'm aware this means forced download mode.)

I'm able to use Odin completely normally and flash anything successfully as well. Yet it just reboots back into download mode. And if I leave it alone while connected to my PC with Odin up, this is what it looks like:
I've "successfully" installed Stock ROM, Kernel and PIT files. Nothing changes! I've also tried one-click unsoftbricker, heimdal, calling it names, begging it to work. Am I crazy or...is this thing done for?
Have you tried repartitioning it?
By clicking that check box in Odin? Yes.
Ah, you must've hardbricked your Galaxy.

You need to flash a ROM that has boot loaders in it...
When you use the unbrickable resurector, it flashes a boot loader that always boots to download mode. From download mode, you can flash a FULL rom, that will replace the boot loader. Then it will boot normally.

It's not hard bricked... that ROM will restore it. But after you flash that rom , you'll need to flash a different Rom for your region...

I never even heard of a "Full" ROM before. The problem I was having was apparently my bootloader - or lack-there-of.
You saved my Galaxy Player's life! Thank you very much!

Hi Everybody,
I was trying to install a new version of cyanogenmod that held kitkat, worked, but heres the problem. After installing the new rom i wanted to put a different kernel. This specific kernel I wanted was not compatible with kitkat, but i wasn't reading, so when it was booting up it was stuck at the Galaxy S Cyanogenmod booting screen. I turned it off and put the device in cwm recovery. I was going to put the right kernel for the device but the SD wound't mount. I looked for a solution, which led me to odin. When I started flashing the status was frozen at nand start write. So I stupidly unplugged it, so now I am greeted with a Phone+!+PC please help me!

Without seeing a picture of the screen, I'm going to have to assume the screen is a blue color with a picture of a computer on it.
If so, that's not a problem at all. That screen is basically the same thing as ODIN/Download mode.
With your device on that screen simply replug in your USB cable and reflash with ODIN.
If you could provide a picture of the screen, I could definitely say for sure that your device is good to go, or not.

If you're talking about this above, then do as Higgs_Boson said above. This is just a force download mode, and happens when you improperly flash something.
