for those who removed the antishatter film ( to solve fingerprint problem ) - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

hello everyone, for those who removed the anti shatter film some said that the glass feeling feels awesome but it becomes more prone to fingerprints,so did anyone try the olephobic solution kit by fusso which is found on ebay, maybe this will help in getting over the fingerprint problem

If it were me i'd apply a screen protector over the front immediately after removing the ASF.

I should been taking a break and calm down but I attempted to apply my screen protector right after and held my knife in the other hand from removing the shatterproof sheet and accidently scratched the film..
Now I just keep a microfiber dust cloth nearby and clean the glass of every night until I put something on there.

Screenprotector

The xperia s has the shatterproof sheet pre-applied. This seems to somewhat receptive to scratches.
What exactly is the purpose of this sheet? Is it to strengthen the screen, so it won't break so easily if you drop the phone. Or is it just to hold the glass together when it breaks?
If I want to apply a screen protector like a martin fields or brando ultra clear, should I apply if over the shatterproof sheet, or should I remove the shatterproof sheet?

It's there to help protect your display from from getting scratched, damaged etc. If you're thinking of getting your own screen protector, i would certainly remove the shatterproof sheet before putting on your new one. If you dont, the screen MAY end up less responsive.
I am in the exact same boat. I got my phone last night, been playing with it at work and literally 5 minutes ago I noticed that it already has a sheet on the screen?
But last night after picking up the phone I immediately bought a screen protector on eBay.
Should I keep the sheet on the phone now until its worn and scratched and then replace with the ones I have got on eBay?

Yeah I would just keep the original on, and when it's worn out, put a new one on.
I think I'm gonna do that as well. Just keep it the way it is, until it starts to annoy me. Then I'll take it off and stick a new one on there.
I wouldn't recommend taking it off. I did it on my Play and once the screen gets greasy, some random touches start appearing by just blowing at the screen, so you often have to clean it.
I'm getting an XPs soon ...by for now I have my old desire ... never fitted a screen protector etc...
How many scratches have I got?? None...
Do I have to clean the screen ?.. Yes...
The XPs has strong glass ( gorillia glass MK2 ) sure your get smudges etc, but that adds to the charm !
As long as you have a good lint free cloth you should be fine !!

The Xperia S doesn't have gorilla glass, it has glass scratch resistance
Has anyone actually removed the pre applied screen protector? Does it change the feel of the screen?

Screen Protectors and Water

Has anyone had any experience with using screen protectors on a waterproof device?
Will they lift off under water/when you're giving it a wash?
Thinking of getting something rubbery like skinomi/bodyguardz or maybe a glass one like spiegen - but am worried it might lift off underwater.
Thoughts?
body guardz
I got body guards for mine because you can always re apply them wet so even if it does peel its meant to be wet so just peel it back over i cant say the same for glass protectors.:good:

Best type of screen protector to hide some scratches

Hi guys,
I was a stupid and put some toothpaste on my phone in the hopes of getting some existing scratches out, it turns out it made my phone even more scratched. There are a bunch of micro scratches and pixelations on my phone now. I heard that the anti glare or privacy screen protectors help cover up the scratches. Is this true, and if so, which of the two is better? Thank you very much!
Anyone care to reply?

ASF actually prevents from back glass shattering??

Hi guys,
There is anti shatter film on the back as well as on the front right? What I'm concerned about is the back. White z ultra hides fingerprints and scratches, so I don't really have to put a protector to hide those, but I'm wondering if I don't put a tempered glass protector or something on the back, the back might crack some day.
How preventative is the ASF? Is t actually anti shatter?? Even if I drop it, the back glass won't shatter or crack?
Thanks.

Using the phone without screen protection - safe or not?

Is anyone using their Pro 7 without any main screen protection? I'm interested how good or bad is the screen when there is no film or glass to protect it. Can you post your impressions?

Thanks.
As far as I could inform, there is only scratch resistant glass on the screen, no website mention to have some kind of Gorilla Glass.
What kind of protection are you using? Full screen glass (as they say, 3D) with coloured sides, flat glass or film?
I tried three kinds of film (even from Nillkin) but neither of them glued completely on the sides and the smears from fingers were terrible.
