[Q] Calendar Reminders Auto-hiding - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Event reminders from the Google Calendar app auto-hide (turn to low-priority) after 15 minutes (I think it is 15 minutes), this results in missed reminders.
Is there any way to prevent the reminders from auto-hiding (I'm guessing not since Google is now close-sourcing many of their apps...)?

How do I sets calendar default reminder?

How do I set my calendar reminder to a default time of 1 hour? When I had my BB, I was able to set it and forget it. Right now on my phone, it's set to none and after every entry, I have to set it.
In other words, whenever my appointment is due, say like a doctor apt.at 1045. At 945, I would get a reminder. I don't want to have to do it for every entry. Is there a better way?

If you're using your Google account to sync all your events between your phone and Google Calendar (on the web), there is an option in Google Calendar's web interface (go dig around in the settings menu) where you can set the default notification time for events.
If you've set specific notifications for individual events, changing the default time in Google Calendar will not change those individual events, however it will change the notification for all events without a notification already specified.

[Q] Notification Settings - Messages

Does anyone know if it is possible to have your notifications go off multiple times? I switched from an iPhone 4 which let me repeat every 3 minutes. Is anything like that possible?
It looks like the minimum time interval for repeating events is one day. The Clock/Alarms will allow you do repeat an alarm on specific days (weekly). The calendar app will let you repeat events daily/weekly/monthly/yearly.
I searched for "alarm" on the Play market and tried the top two third party alarm apps and neither appeared to have the feature you described.
You could create an alarm and set the snooze for 3 minutes or create three separate alarms spaced 3 minutes apart.
I mean for text messages and emails. Not alarms. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ah, I misunderstood. I don't see a way to have notifications repeat in the default apps and settings.
After a quick google search, it looks like the app "Handcent SMS" will do what you described.
Once installed, go in to Settings-->Notification Settings-->Notification Settings(again)-->Enable Reminders
The settings there will allow you to set how frequently you'll receive reminders for unread messages.

[Resolved] Couple of minor problems I havent found answers for .. can you help

1. calendar notifications on weekend for work calendar - I dont want my work calendar to send notifications. Also I dont want notifications during nighttime. Is there any way to control this in stock calendar app? some other calendar app?
2. When bunch of notifications appear, how can I say, remove all notifications? (After I have reflashed a new ROM and resurrected 50 apps using TB .. I would like to get rid of all those notifications ..)
Thanks
1) you can set work email to not sync or not have any default reminders. I know on the Google calendar, you can disable notification(but it'll to apply for alldevices the calendars is syncing to
some Roms, youcan set profiles to disable alerts. custom apps like tasker cando it too
2) there should be a clear button on the drop down notifications bar

I do need work calendar (exchange) synced and only give reminders during work hours
I want google calendar (personal) to give reminders during weekend hours
No reminders during night-time. Its no fun to wake up at 3 am .. because someone set their reminder 10 hours before actual meeting
I will look into tasker

Thanks! I should have seen it!!
Another thing I tried and worked -> swipe the notification away. (not useful to clear all, but to clear one by one)

Google Calendar snooze option?

Several months back I installed the official Google Calendar app on my Stock ICS (rooted) Rezound. I also disabled the HTC calendar after installing. Calendar itself works fine. For several years I've been using Calendar Snooze to get the option to snooze and it works fine except that I get duplicate google calendar alerts and calendar snooze alerts about 50% of the time. I've read that the google calendar app is supposed to offer snooze options but have yet to see any snooze button. Any ideas why the google calendar app doesn't offer snooze for me but supposedly does for many others?
I would also love to know if there is a way to change the default snooze to 10 minutes instead of five

[Q] Google calendar constant sound notifications

guys
I cannot find a setting to change this and it's getting very annoying. I have my corporate mail events & google calendar events and both pop up on my phone. This behavior is only with google events - when I get the event, I simply press the home button and it stays in my taskbar and doesn't bother. However, every 15-20 mins, there is a sound from the phone. Any setting to fix this? I simply want it to stay in taskbar without bothering me
Thank you!
