Are you using any other performance related tweak? E.g. overclocking or overvolting?
If then then stop using that.
May be not related but my old Nokia had such problem. I switched off, removed battery for 1 hour, let it cool and it was automatically fixed.
But if problem persists after changing battery, better contact service center. Overheating is really bad for these devices and can seriously damage other components.

No just custom rom and governor was default only. I flashed stock rom but still overheating, i charged my phone while in stock rom bu for over 3 hours, it only reached 50%.
It was already solved when i do not used my phone for a week with battery pull out. It returned when i charged my phone and put it on top of computer CPU, when i pick my phone it was overheating. I thought it was the cpu only but after an hour even in deep sleep it was overheating and drain battery past.

Battery drain even when phone is off

My battery (original) drains even wen the phone is off. First i tought that my battery was broken. I bought a new accu (original) but i got the same results. After about 8 hours ive got 15% less juice and the phone was off. What could this be?

Try to 'callibrate' your battery, and see if gives you the same results or if it's fixed: Charge your battery to 100% - turn off your phone - remove your battery for about a minute - replace your battery - turn on your phone.

I think that it may be caused by the internal GT-I9100 Battery Fuel Gauge chip, you should ask a service center, often problems like this are because of internal battery chip failing at equilibrating charges between battery cells.
You should also try to reflash a stock samsung rom (like XXLSJ) using odin, so if there's any software problem it should solve it

Thanx for the reply. I was afraid it would be a internal chip thingy. I have dropt my phone a few times this year maybe that triggerd it.. So the only thing i can do is go to the service center to let it be repaird.

you may play heavy games?
not removing charger even after 100% is done?
many apps that run in background without your notice?
may be your wifi, gps ..etc are switched on?
'Overheating' is quite vague, is your phone able to fry an egg or does it simply feel warm? What are your battery temperature stats?

These days not playing any heavy games. Sometimes back i played heavy games for long tym bt it never get hot. I remove the charger immidiately as 100% completed. I have monitored through some apps, no apps are running. Wifi is off, i also tried whn even gps is off but no change. If u put phone for some minutes its cpu temp is around 38c and if than u use only for 5 to 10 mins ( surf net or even use normal) cpu temp becum 48-52c.

Previously no problem was there. I visited samsung sc for lcd change. Since then the prblm starts. After that they changed my battery nd board also. Bt problem remains. Is this due to lcd? Mine is continously 50c till m using. It cools only after few min standby.

Battery is not charging correctly

For a while my phone is taking a lot much time to charge than it usually take earlier.
So today i installed this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abmantis.galaxychargingcurrent.free
And after i connect my mobile to charger this app usually shows that my phone is having max current:400/500 which shud be 999 instead. (Read app description)
After i disconnect charger and connect it back 3-4 times i get a rating of 700 or sometimes even 900(max) but after letting the mobile charge for a while this automatically decreases to 300-400.
And also from the time i bought the phone(4 months back) charger usually gets somewhat hot(not warm) but i ignored that issue.
So what do u think the fault is in-charger/phone?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Do not use such an application, let the phone discharge to zero to turn off and recharge to full.
mostly help. Please use the phone menu
charging problems are mainly related to cable!
sent from my GT-I9300 running Mac OS
The app has 10000+ downloads and my friend suggested so i thought of giving it a try
After the battery fully discharges and phone turn off shud i turn on the phone after connecting to charger or shud i let be off till it charges completely?

No need to use this.
just delete the cache occasionally a classic way to charge your phone battery runs down.
It does not have to be zero!!
yeah me too using BB cable. better than many original samsung cables.

If you do calibrate batteries and erase cache, the system will be as before.
Have tried both i.e. cleared cache and charged completely frm 2%
But it almost took 6-7 hours
So is the problem in cable?

Cable
Charger
Usb Port
Battery are all possible causes of very slow charge .

yes it's the cable. many samsung customers including me faced the same problem. just change the cable.

Weird battery issue!

Hey
I have aproblem that is so strange!
For example when I turn off my mobile it restarts!
Even if I pull out the battery and put it in it just power on automatically! !
Sometimes if the phone successfully was turent off, when I press any button it indicates that it is charging!
And now the battery is full even though am using it for around 2hrs
So my question is: is it a phone hardware or battery issue?

as i said it just went away after a while i think the problem is being caused by overcharge, so when u keep charging it to 95% the voltages come back to normal.
In other words charge it till 95% for like 10 charges and it will be fixed.

Looks like the battery has degrade, as it has been used for 1.5 years old. You may try to do this:
1. Charge to 100%
2. Reboot
3. See if the charge is still 100% or not
If the charge is not 100%, chance is, the battery meter has run out

Yup, when the phone is plugged. That way, if your phone plugged at 100% and then rebooted, there is no way the charge goes down if the battery is all good

Battery meter should decrease a bit around 2 - 6% after reboot because of boot up time will still consume battery a little even charger is connected all the time. That is normal. But if there is too much drop after reboot then it might be the battery had been degrade too much.

That seems normal for me. I am using very damaged battery (inflated and punctured pinhole) in my XP a while now and it would got around 10-15% of remaining battery before its shut down. I've test my battery with multimeter and my battery only had around 3.2volt remain. Seems like android will power off after certain voltage threshold is reached (in my case 3.2v i assume?). So that definitely means the battery damaged.
