[Q] HTC Desire X Keeps Restarting! - HTC Desire X

Hello,
Today I was charging my phone via USB and suddenly my phone restarted, Since then the phone keeps restarting as soon as it reaches the home screen (waits for all the widgets to load) then restarts again.
I am now making a nandroid backup.
Anybody else facing the problem?
Possible fixes?
Thanks

You tried pulling the battery? Or, wipe cache and dalvik cache from recovery?

Tried all those and only then I posted here. I don't want to flash a new ROM now. :/ Had everything setup to my liking.

Can you do a logcat while booting your phone, including the reboot?

Sorry, I got frustrated and now flashing a new ROM.

That's fine then, definitely the best choice...

Random reboots are mostly accredited to kernel and not ROM. (however possible in ROM as well).
First thing you should do next time if such thing happens is to flash stock boot or use a different boot then u are currently using.

I did the same, Returned to full stock. But then the problem occurred again after I finished setting up all my apps. Also I found out what the problem was.
The issue is with the latest update of DoubleTwist Music Player App. As soon as I installed that app and opened it, My phone froze and then the restarting issue started. Then I removed the app apk from Recovery and now it works fine.
So anyone having this issue try the above solution.

[Q] Experiencing random reboots

After sometime my cell phone is rebooting all times.
If it goes idle and I press the button to wake it, it reboots.
I've used some custom roms including CM7.
After I restored to my original firmware which is Claro Brazil, it keeps rebooting all time .
Anyone know what can I do? I even sent it to motorola and they don't do a thing. All they say is that it don't have any defect .
Thank you
Jayson
Did it start rebooting after you after you restored to the original firmware,
or did you restore to the original firmware to try to fix the reboots?:

I restored to original to try to fix and it keeps rebooting.
I've flashed that build of ICS of dev thread and it seems to be rebooting less times.
How did you flash the rom?
Are you using romracers recovery?
Did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom?
You might make sure you have romracers latest recovery,
and then run this script for a full wipe:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421261&highlight=moto-fastboot+script
and then load a new rom and see if that fixes it.
You can also flash the Kernel and the radio too.

First I installed IHOP_Bell.sbf with sbf_flash to be able to unlock with moto-fastboot. After that did install CWM.
All my roms are installed with CWM with its cache/data and stuff wipe.
How can I know the right kernel and radio for me?
Same for me. I think this is a radio issue, where can we find lastest radio? Do we need to flash it like rom via RR CWM?
Thanks.
I get random reboots all the time. I was thinking it was a problem with wireless or bluetooth... Last time it rebooted was this morning, I docked it before going to bed, and 5 minutes later i hear the double-ding of it mounting internal storage at boot. At the time it wasn't running anything but the dock-widget clock.
I've had it reboot while on the bus listening to music with the phone in my pocket, I've had it reboot while docked and sitting idle, but youtube and flash are the real killers while actually using the phone, for me at least.
I find it reboots less if I leave wireless and bluetooth off, but what is the good in that?
I've had the random reboots probably since I upgraded to gingerbread, but even moreso after Bell 2.3.6 OTA.
I wonder if there is a way to prevent it from rebooting, so we can see what actually causes it to spontaneously reboot.
Im getting random reboots too, but figured it was from the build of CM7 i'm running (23-Nov. Was thinking of doing a full wipe then reload sometime this week. will report my results.
Hi!
Same thing happened to me. What I did was, I flashed to a different radio for it to be fixed. The stock doesn't seem to work on mine and I can't have signal reception.

I'm also getting reboots when I'm not on wifi.... Sometimes takes 15 mins once I'm not on wifi using 2.3.6 bell with latest radio.

I've already did it without success.
Now I'm trying this new Radio:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1175750
N_01.100.00R
because I'm pretty sure it is a Radio issue.
I previously had N_01.95.00R wich seems to be an Asian Radio that probably (hopefully) doesn't work properly here.
I will tell you if it will fix the problem.
Hi there,
I also have random reboots on my Atrix.
Till now, I tried to change rom, recovery, reset data factory, use no apps, etc. But it never worked, and the reboots are still happening without any logical explanation.
I'm also thinking about a Radio problem, mine is : N_01.100.00R
I'll try changing it this evening, maybe it will fix things.
I'm trying a new radio too.
It didn't reboot yet.

Which one? Please, tell us!
Just had my second reboot in 5 minutes with N_01.100.00R...
Basically, it happens only in 3G and never in 2G, so I really think this is a radio issue, but I can't find alternatives...

Mine is a brazilian version, I'm using N_01.31.00R.

change radio to N_01.77.36P.
I bet most you're reboots are withing 1 minute of loosing data connection over 3g/4g. Use this radio and I haven't have had one reboot with both blur based roms and currently cm7.

Do you have any link to this radio?

[Q] Galaxy S3 Random lockups

Hey all
For some reason today my phone has just started randomly locking up. Was running a nightly build of Cyanogen mod from Mid January. Never had any issues with it today.
Ive basically done a complete wipe of the system (/system, data, cache, dalvik, SD card, etc) and installed a newer nightly of Cyanogen mod, but it is still happening. Thinking it may be a hardware problem...
Any ideas as to how i can check whats going wrong?
Symptoms:
- Screen completely freezes on what it was doing. Screen state stays the same too (doesnt dim after a while)
- Haptic touch buttons sometimes work and sometimes dont (if they do work, all they do is vibrate, nothing changes on the screen)
- Tried a few button combinations to try and get it to respond again. Only way to get it goign again is to reboot the system completely (holding Power + Home)
Thanks
Dan

last option :- backup internal storage. do a megawipe. install any samsung based rom again.
if that also does not work. bring phone back to full stock i.e there should be no proof that u used custom roms and then try to get samsung to exchange it. sorry.

not full wipe. megawipe. from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832326
hope your s3 is the international version I9300.
If not then u r in the wrong section and installing non compatible roms and mods, that could be the cause of all this.

[Q] TWRP 2.4.4.x Boot Loop?

Has anyone else had a boot loop problem with the new V of TWRP?? I'm running SOAv3 ROM and had ZERO problems, upgraded my twrp and had about a dozen restarts and freezes and then when I tried to boot into recovery, it boot looped. Fixed it with ODIN, then tried installing it fresh, and got the same thing. Went back to my older version and things are fine once again just wondered if this is isolated or just a known bug??
Yes its a know issue right now go back to the previous working version of twrp and wait for it to get fixed. Also be sure to check big Biff's twrp page before trying to update again to make sure everything is good.

Just update from Padawan V8 to SOA build 3. Was skeptical for a day or so but finally did it last night. Was just about to update to the New TWRP, thank fully I read through all those pages before I did, I usually don't. Saved me a head ache except I forgot to wipe cache's before installing the GAPPS, going to have to re-do that I believe to get the new camera functions from what I've read.

[Q] x10i Keeps Rebooting.

Hello,
I have flashed a few custom ROMs onto my x10i and each time it reaches the lock screen when it starts up it just seems to go into a reboot loop from kernel splash screen to lock screen again. Is there any fix for this ? I have tried using SEUS and restarting the whole process of flashing a kernel, rooting etc but it doesn't seem to work. it literately only happens when it reaches the lock screen. sometimes it lasts longer than that. Whenever I wipe the system it seems to work fine but as soon as a few things are running it starts to reboot again. The current ROM I'm running is PAC-man, with the kernel supplied along with it.
Could anyone help me ?
Thanks,
mmy4life
I have the same problem
use the phone until the battery become empty charge it in off mode up to 100 enter in xrecovery advanced options wipe battery stats and reboot
maybe you did an error when flashing or it runs wrong kernel. my suggestion : just use another ROM there are many nice ROM you can choose, and dont forget to follow step by step installation guide provide by developers.
Is the rom overclocked as this can can happen on some devices try and set the CPU to 998

That usually happens when the ROM is using overclocked CPU settings or an unstable CPU governor as default but it can also be defaulted inside the kernel. You simply flash another kernel and appropriate ROM.

I flashed 2.3 and it kept rebooting after a while, so i re flashed 2.1 and it is more stable but reboots if i open a app or anything that uses ram.
btw 1eyedmonster how do you set the CPU to 998?
I am also having ths reboot and crash issue... is there no fix for it? I have read about this reboot error at numerous sites. Must be a bug or summin man... or we dn summin wrong... and if it were hardwars related then to what hardware wd you be referring to? Is it a replaceable part? How easy wd such a task honestly be... i have 2.3.3 with 3.0.0.75 and no matter what it just wont stop dropping itself while i just start to appreciate it all over again... so im sure there have bn plenty issues regards this... so is there an answer?

Rootbox, Stuck at "Upgrading apps"

It says this and gets stuck there after its done optimizing. Any ideas? If I reboot it just goes into a bootloop. If I clear the cache, it starts the whole upgrading process over again.
What version did you flash? Did you try a full wipe? Are you flashing a kernel with it?
Sometimes it takes a while before it starts up like a few minutes. How long have you tried waiting?

Try clearing cashes (davlik included) from recovery.
Edit: I didn't read the full OP before responding. My bad. Did you try to do a full reflash? Preferably a clean one?

Yes. It said it was compatible with CRPALMER but thats what my issue was. Used boot.img provided with .zip. Worked fine. Other than that, this rom seems really sluggish.
