I'm trying to find out, if its possible to use a 128gb microSD card in a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (P3100) 16gb w/3G ??
I've found info that it will work in a Tab 3 7.0
ANY ONE that has similier questions regarding the use of the 128gb MicroSD card in other devices, feel free to ask them here in this thread.

not sure I agree with that?
People used to say that about the 64gb, but is completely possible. Just had to use a computer to format it in Fat32, or possibly exFat. So, I'm trying to find answers to my question.
If you can explain reasons that make sense, would be a big help to know for sure. I am technically minded, so, I'm sure you will not be saying anything above my knowledge level of understanding.
I found 1 post that seemed to indicate that it is possible. Uncertain of weither or not it is true or not, reason I'm asking here.

Well, I don't think that's going to work tab2 doesn't supports 128GB Micro SD card ! I would say i would work if you have put a 32Gb SD card over it but 128GB SD card now way it shouldn't work over the the tab2 or tab3 there is no any need on trying such things out. If you search for the specs then its clearly written over the specs that it's expandable upto 64GB not more than that !
possibility 128gb might work?

Accually, original factory specs said 32gb, but, at the time TAB 2 was created there wasn't any such thing as a 64gb to test with the TAB 2 to be sure, and if there was, its likely not to support it, because they probably knew it wasn't going to work directly, instead of a workaround way.
Its been a while since the 64gb microSD been around, and well known among several website postings that its about 100 percent possibly to use them in a TAB 2 tablet.
I'm already found strong evidence of 128gb MicroSD to work in a TAB 3 7.0. I've come across one note that seem to say that it works in a TAB 2, but I have doubts of that statement. I've already came across website that was selling 128gb microSD for 70.00 bucks, and still available last time I checked. There is another website that has a compatability list of devices that the 128gb microSD will work in. ((In some, or most cases of those listed, its quite possible you may need to format it in a format that's normally not used in the larger size microSD card, using a computer to format it, in order for the microSD card to be recognize, such as the 64gb microSD card to work in the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (P3100). ))
Ryan
PS - one more added note, I'm well aware of the spec limits of the TAB 2, which is 32gb, which is why I was asking if its "possible" in some sort of way to make it work, such as the case of using a 64gb microSD card. 128gb microSD cards has only been on the market recently.
Here is the weblink to the compatability list I was speaking of, which also list the TAB 3.

You shouldn't assume what other people have or have not tried. Seems to me the OP asked a very specific question and since you do not seem to know the answer. It might be best if you let someone who does know, answer the question themselves.
Hello everyone, I've just realized I have no SD card on my 32GB D855 with stock Lollipop 5.0, rooted ant twrp recovery (even though today I've done a backup with Nandroid it said it had saved it on my SD ?).
I've read somewhere that there are compatibility issues with these new smartphones, so I'll just ask here before spending money on something that might not work
Another question: is getting a >32GB card worth it? I have still 10GB on my phone memory and I don't store films or stuff like that, but I have started modding the phone so maybe I'd better get something with more storage than I think I would need atm.
I should also mention that I live in Italy so some models I've seen in other threads might be too expensive (Kingston, Samsung and SanDisk are the most common ones I could get here). I wouldn't go over €40, but if you say 32GB is more than enough I'll happily save that money for something else.
I have a 64gb Samsung in mine. Got it from Amazon
32 gb seen enough for you. You end up with a 64 Gb device.
I always buy Sandisk.
Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a 7" tablet from my parents as a birthday present, and I have a niggling problem with it, but first I need to properly identify it.
Help me identify it
I know it is an Archos, it was bought from Argos in the UK, branded as an ALBA 7" Tablet. Using CPU-Z I see it is an Archos, but I can't identify exactly which model. The Board is listed as an AC70PLV2, it uses a MediaTek MT8127 chipset. Can anyone tell me exactly what Archos model it comes under? Cobalt? What Gen is it? If I Google AC70PLV2 only the Argos page comes up, no other results.
My issue
It is running Android 5.0.1, I have inserted a 16GB SD card, and there is NO Move to SD option, anywhere for apps. It only has 8GB of storage, 4.23GB of it is used by Firmware, leaving me with only 3.72GB usable after disabling all non-removable bloat. If I cannot move game data to the SD the tablet is useless to me and I'll have to regrettably ask my mum to take it back. I saw on some forum that if I go into Storage in Settings, then click Apps, then the three dots at top right, there should be a Storage Preferences option allowing me to change default storage to SD, but there isn't, only "Sort by Name", and "Reset App Preferences".
Installing games like GTA, SBK 14, and the new Android Tomb Raider temple run style game, all make the data be installed on internal memory, and as far as I can tell there is no emulated SD on it. There appear to be folders on the external SD for the games, but it isn't using them, it's using internal.
I've come from an Ace 2 phone which had Cyanogen 10.2 custom ROM, everything was perfect with it, and all big apps could be moved, as I swapped the storages around on it. Is there a Custom ROM for my tablet that I can do the same? I'd take screenshots but don't think this stock thing has the option. It's a cracking tablet, just this one issue for large games is a dealbreaker. I can run videos, pics and music off the external SD just fine. My dad's Galaxy S5 is running Android 5.0, his has a Move to SD option, and that's with stock TouchWiz
Anyone that can help I thank you so much. I don't want to demean myself having to ask my mum to take it back I have a feeling Archos have nobbled it, but that's crazy as it only has 3.7GB usable. One final thing is I DON'T want to be using 3rd party move to SD apps. This option has been built into Android for as long as I remember, why it's missing now I don't know.
Hello,
This tablet has to be an Archos Platinum 70.
This id matches in the build.prop of mine, altough both ac70plv2 and ac70pl3 appear, the latter being used as a model id for OTA updates, so I suspect I might have a newer revision.
Otherwise, the two tablets look like clones based on what I can find on the Alba-branded one.
This tablet boasts Archos' new trick called "unified storage", where space provided by an external SD card is supposed to be merged with internal storage, transparently making it bigger.
Obviously this doesn't seem to work this way on yours. DIfferent firmware version?

Thankyou lannig! I was curious about the unified storage, but no it doesn't seem to work. It appears to treat them the same, but once the internal is filled the "Insufficient storage" error keeps coming up, not giving me the option to use the external. Archos have just updated their website, and the Platinum 70 is indeed the same one as mine, I hunted for hours on their site and it wasn't there before. Sadly I've decided to ask my mum to see if she can get me a 16GB tablet, but it's nearing the 30 day limit, she doesn't have the money just yet, so I may end up stuck with the Platinum. A real shame, if it had 16GB internal storage it'd be perfect, but 8GB is the only option they offer for this model.
Well, if you're a very, very daring soul, you may want to try applying the OTA firmware update meant for the Archos Platinum 70.
It can be found at http://update.archos.com/AFMv1/storage/files/full/ac70plv3/20150723.065346/update-from-archos.zip
You'll have to install it from stock recovery.
Since I suspect there might be subtle hardware differences between the Archos-branded model and yours, there's a significant risk of bricking it. You have been warned.

Thanks again Lannig, although there's no need for that, as today my tablet was replaced, and I am one HAPPY bunny! I've received the 8 Inch Bush Spira B1 32GB (An Archos AC80DPL) as a replacement, and it has the default storage switch option that the Alba was missing, so now I have 64GB of switchable space including my SD card! I KNEW someone had crippled that cheapo Alba!
You've been wonderful with your advice, thankyou ever so much for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it, and will do the same for you if I ever see you needing rescuing from a disaster, SuperNerd James to the rescue!
Well, thanks for the feedback. Glad to know that it turned out this way for you
And you're quite welcome.
Didn't realize that these Archos tablets were being sold rebranded under so many different names abroad...
Bush Spira 8" 32 GB
That's weird. I've got the same Bush Spira tablet as you but I don't have the option to combine the internal and external memory. In fact, the opposite is true. I can't write anything to the external micro sd card at all, seems like they nobbled this one too, obviously after you got it.
What is your firmware version? Seems like I've got a different version.

The guy says, no SD slot? In Gsmarena says the oposite, what is true?
I heard him say Adaptable Storage in the earlier part of the video, which is a feature that I think came with Nougat (maybe MM?) where you could combine your Internal Storage with a micro SD into one larger storage space. The downside being SD is generally slower, so all storage my act a bit more sluggish, but at least you shouldn't have to worry about running out of internal space. I', pretty sure that GSMarena is correct, because the Tray slot on the demo unit I saw at Tmo yesterday takes up what looks like 1/3 of the side of the phone. I interpreted that as it's tray is side by side for SD and nano-Sim.
Does anyone know if the US version get the headphones too? I know the US sometimes doesn't get the add-ons in the box, but another pair of what look like LG Quadbeats would be nice!
Edit.. found my answer, Google is your fiend.

OK...you offered...I am thinking about purchasing the Huawei Ascend XT. In the specs (phonescoop) I noticed 16Gb internal storage with 8.4 "open" usage. That's 7Gb of factory installed bloatware? #1. Other than the Nougat O.S. could most of the bloatware be SAFELY removed #2. In asking that...is most of the bloatware Google and google support services?

I haven't bought the phone...yet. I'm in need of a new phone and it's just one of 3 o r 4 I'm considering. Doesn't almost 3 Gb's of bloatware seem like and awful lot? It does to me. One other item of question: I noticed and it very much caught my attention, in the specs it states: FM Radio-YES. Is this an FM receiver (local FM radio) or just Internet Stream FM?

i dont use the fm turner app i remove it from my roms or least my phone my roms have pretty much all the bloat removed that i could find im still working on new one will be a bit the phone is nice just when we finally get a working dev tree etc we will have custom roms the phone has same hardware as honor 5x i do believe the rr port i did where wifi was broke the phone runs fast so im trying to fix the wifi for it for temp if i can if not im still working on my new rom
It's a FM receiver which requires wired headphones to be connected as the wire functions as an antenna too.

Hey Madvane20.
I'm using stock ROM on B170. My phone only has 8.55GB of internal storage available. From the advertised 16GB. I only have 0.44GB left. I really don't have much on my phone. But as a result of low storage I can't have all the apps and games on my phone that I want.
.how can I expand the internal storage to be more like the 16GB as advertised. What's the highest amount you have available on your phone? Do you have more than 8.55GB on your ROM? If you do how much and link to ROM plz.
Because as you know we can't install aps on the SD card. Or do you do that?
Thanks
Uninstall apps you don't need that take up internal storage, use the storage manager to clear apps caches, move data including music, pictures and videos to micro SD, set apps to store their data in micro SD where possible. Can't do anything else that I am aware of. I usually have 1GB free internal storage after doing this and have to do it regularly.

RE: Madvane 20
First, you need to know that no matter what, there was never 16Gb of memory. They (all electronic storage) "say"-advertise 16gb (or 8 or 2 or 64...etc) but in actuality there is only the nearest binary unit number closest to 16Gb. 16 Gb is actually 16.384 Gb or 16384 Mb.. Got you confused? OK, all storage is designated in "bytes" (one unit of storage) and bytes use the binary system when computing their size/storage capacity. Therefore an "advertised" 16Gb is only actually just slightly more than 15.9 Gb. If your not sure what I'm saying, use a conversion chart for Mb to Gb (or vice-versa) and remember that your dealing in the "binary" code. Then , on top of that, manufacturers set aside a certain number of "sectors" to account for bad/defective sectors that may occur when manufactured. Thus, it would not be unusual for 16Gb to actually only be about 14.7 Gb (or so) of actual usable storage space. Example...I have a "16" Gb pendrive that has 14.5 Gb of "actual" storage capacity on it. If the doesn't make sense to you, look up "How electronic storage works" (google-bing...etc..) Next, look up just how much "space" the O.S. on you phone occupies. Then, after deducting that number from the "actual" storage capacity, you'll be able to determine just how much "bloatware" you may have on the phone and you can -CAREFULLY- start eliminating some of those apps. This will open more "storage space" for personal use, (Mb's) on the phone. One last thing...you can put apps on an SD card. Now, that said, SOME SD cards are not "compatible" with certain phones and that may prevent you from being able apply the apps to the SD card. Some PHONES do not recognize the SD card as "internal" storage and thus, you have to re-format and change the SD card designation to "Internal". And a lot of "bottom-line" phones just don't have the hardware or firmware capabilities to handle this. Now, have I got you thoroughly confused? don't despair...you can easily look up all I've said and read and understand it at your pleasure.

No you don't have me confused at all. Thank you for the response Madame. Sorry for the late reply. Well I think today is the day I will finally root and flash a new ROM. As im tired of EMUI and no adoptable storage.
Can you link me to the ROM you reccomend? I want adoptable storage. Not that much bloatware. Full functionality, including camera, wifi, netflix, wireless display etc. Also I want a little more available RAM if possible. I want adoptable storage. Please reccomend a ROM.
One more thing. I've seen that the Samsung Micro SD cards above 32 GB are working for this phone . But I may pick up a 32GB or 64GB Sandisk micro SD card. Will the Sandisk be just as compatible as the Samsung? I plan to simply get an Class 10 of 95mb read speed and 10mb write speed. Like the Sandisk ultra or the Samsung evo cards. Thank you fam.

Next, look up just how much "space" the O.S. on you phone occupies.

Sorry i called you Madvane, Rick new here
What's up. I'm new to these parts of the forums. I have downgraded from s8+'s and now I'm on the H1611. I have your b180 room installed on my device and for the life of me cannot get Xposed to install without dealing with the constant boot loop. I know it takes something like 20 min. I've read somewhere but an hour is ridiculous. I have tried flashing through TWRP and I've tried through Magisk and no luck. Any idea to get Xposed installed?
Current:
Your b180 room
Rooted with Magisk
Another thing is it normal to have ram at like 300-400mb free? This phone feels super sluggish and I think MIUI is far too heavy for this phone. I agree with the folks in here that want lineageos. I'll search for a branch or source tree to see if I can get something going at least. If not I'll join the club with trying to build a tree. This phone has "0" snappiness whatsoever. A friend's LG Leon lte feels way faster than this BEHEMOTH of a phone
epikroms,
You might want to post in the H1611 Xposed thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-ascend-xt/help/xposed-huawei-ascend-xt-t3536003/
several of us have Magisk Xposed installed and working.
Well, I actually have it installed now and haven't posted here since this part of the forums are a complete ghost town. I was gonna share my current build for this device but seeing from the lack of anything here I'm not gonna even waste time releasing it to the general public. And thanks for your response but it would've been easier with just providing some information rather than making me go through pages of nonsense. But the response is what matters. I will be returning back to a real device shortly because this phone is not as snappy as everyone says and nor is it as good as everyone says for it's dollar. I bought this phone and a brand new Samsung j3 and kept this phone because I hate Samsung but now I really wish I had kept it. So good day/evening. I am out....

Well what information exactly were you looking for? Installing Xposed is not a one liner and can get a bit complicated with all the different versions.
You could have written up what Xposed version you installed and how you did it to help the next person - that's how forums work.

Exactly so, why was your reply opposite of what you are telling me? And it's quite obvious that there is only the magisk way of installing it. I'm not trying to argue with you man. I asked that question a day or 2 ago and I noticed that no one really was even cruising around in the forums so I said to myself what the heck, might as well keep trying things on my own. Also, noticed developement has come to a complete stop a while ago. I honestly thought this place was deserted. It's all good though, like your thread says, to ask you anything, so I could get pointed in a different direction haha. All good though, case closed bro later.
epikroms,
It's not my thread - madvane20s thread. Yep, slow around here cause the main party is over since the devices are low volume/low-mid range and been out for a while. Enjoy your J3.
