Hi all, this is my first message, I always try to find a solution before posting but this time I'm really desperate...
Yesterday I was trying to set back the jelly bean stock rom to my "Xperia P" (I was on nemesis kernel + Enigma rom) device when suddenly flashtool crashed (still don't know why) while flashing, I was very worried because I knew that will probably lead into a brick.
And that happened, the phone is bricked now, and all the info I found talks about re-flashing the stock rom with flashtool but when I try it, it looks like flashtool does not recognise my device (drivers are installed), here I leave a screenshot of what happened when trying to give my P back to life:

The only thing I achieved to do is to set back the nemesis kernel to the phone, so now when I switch on the phone, the nemesis kernel logo is displayed but after that the screen goes black again. [so at least I know the fastboot mode is working]
Thanks for your time and many thanks in advance
Ok so is cwm working? If it is maybe you can try to flash enigma if the rom is on your phone and try and revert to stock.

Nope, CWM is not working... When the Nemesis Kernel logo is displayed I press the - volume button repeatedly but nothing happens... the screen just goes black.

Well... finally I achieved to access to CWM by installing another boot.img via fastboot, so there is a light hehe
From where I am now I don't know how to proceed, should I flash a ROM? If I should, how can I put it in the SD internal partition?
thanks man!

I have no rom zip files on the SD card and the mount SD option of cwm menu seems that is not working (the device is not recognised in the windows device manager) maybe is an issue related to drivers? I thought that with pc companion installed the drivers were installed too...

XP, okay thank you for your help!
@klampenborg
Your the best choice would be to repair with PC Companion or SUS.
Once you are done build your own FTF file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2188129
http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/
Then you can flash whatever you want.

I've tried that too but SUS tells me that the phone has installed software not supported by sony and does not allow me to continue with the process.

OK that's because the unlocked bootloader.
You can begin repair with PCC and when it ask you to connect the phone in flash mode, quit and build the FTF, than flash it with flashtool.
Well, finally I managed to flash my phone to 6.2.A.1.100 I don't know how but I did the same on another computer with windows 7 and it worked.
I finally flashed the ftf file with flashtool and worked like a charm, I've lost the root access but at least my phone is alive again
Thanks to all of you!
No prob man

Yesterday I accidentally erase my phone’s system data from xrecovery after that I can see only initial SE logo. I tried with flashtool and 2.1 firmware but seeing same screen. From flashtool it shows “not rooted” but after couple of other message messages it shows connected as flashmode. Any help appreciated.
From forum and flashtool documents it mentioned to select wipe user data, but when I select ftf file from flashtool wipe section doesn’t have any select check box.

Just download x10's stock firmware & install it using flashtools app.(read guides first)
You soft bricked your phone by formatting system (recovery is removed because it's installed in system partition)

On custom kernel recovery is inside kernel so doesn't remove by formatting system

Thank you so much for your help, advice and guidance. With 2.3.3 rom it worked even though at flash tool it showed not rooted. One difference I have seen one difference between 2.1 generic rom which I gave in my previous post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1749426) and gamingwiz's given 2.3.3, the difference was 2.3.3 had cache wipe option. Hi all,
I've had this problem for a while now, but I've been ignoring it, untill now.
Everytime I try to download this JB update (6.2.A.0.400), everything goes smooth. But as soon as I try to install it, my phone shuts down and tries to install it. some sort of gift box pops up for a second and it boots again. Followed by the message that the update could not be installed.
I've searched google for a solution, but could not find one, so now I'm asking you.
TIA

Right click the driver in device manager and select properties, you will see the diver version, if you click details you can see versions of each of the 3 files of the driver.
Do you have latest PC Ccmpanion installed? Maybe this can fix the issue or might even download 6.2.A.1.100.

I think it's the version I have.
To root the phone I don't think you need flash moed, just fastboot and usb debbugung, but you will need it if you want to reflash or upgrade the firmware.
Sorry I just looked and you do need flash mode, I remembered it was just the kernel but it's an ftf.

Hi Fellas.
I've got recently Galaxy s2.
It has old OS (2.3.5)
I would like to install CianogenMod10.2 or something similar.
The problem with this phone - It has completely broken usb socket. I charge the battery exernally.
I cannot use built-in bootloader, which works with Odin - because , again, usb is not working.
It also has some other bootloader (Powerup +Select button +volume UP) - which looks like CWM - but it's not CWM - because phone has stock firmware from Orange mobile company. This loader has even option to install zip from SD card - But when I try to install cm-10.2-20130824-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip ( latest cianogenmod) - it gives an error - that image is NOT SIGNED.
Is there anything I can do ?
Please advice

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
@junglemike - if u have a broken usb ...i seriously suggest u not to try cm10.2
if recovery doesnt works (like 2 nightlies before) u will be doomed.
I will check this out.
This is a boot loader that I have apart from stock recovery mode:

Thanks.
I understand the risks, I could install stable CM 10 version, or some other stable version.
If only I could figure out hot to install CWM...

I have tried what you suggested:
I downloaded and tried to flash PhilZ touch 3.0.0 temporary flash (file: philz-touch_3.00_i9100-signed.zip)
But it gives me same error: cannot verify the signature.
What I am missing.
Some more questions, sorry if they are too basic
1) PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel - there are many kernels. Which one to choose? This is kernel info of my phone, if it helps:
2) Suppose I succeed to flash PhiZ, why do you suggest to flash neatrom first? why not CM10 right away?
Dear @junglemike,
There is no Philz kernel for gingerbread. Nor will any temporary CWM work on GB!
The way I see it, messing with a phone having a bad USB port is like playing with fire. If something goes wrong, you will have to resort to flashing via Odin (which u can't).
So I suggest you repair the USB port (you can do it yourself too) first.

Yep. You're nuts messing with your phone with a busted USB port. If anything goes even slightly badly, and it does for almost everyone at some stage, you won't be fixing it.
I am starting to think that you are right.
By the way, friend gave me this phone, because he dropped it in a water, and USB never worked after that. I verified that it is not a bad contact issue. I checked with a tester that all 4 contacts are getting through to the motherboard. Probably some chip got burned when when that friend connected charger when phone was still wet.
I just wanted to upgrade because this jingerbread looks really ugly.
I guess I will stay with that anyway.
Is there any app to replace that ugly unlock screen at least? With something similar to jb4.2 ? I mean a enter point that you move from the. Enter to the right to unlock the phone

I've used widgetlocker before with success. Buy the app and then look on xda for widgetlocker themes, there's literally hundreds

why not update OTA?
:crying:
My friend by mistake formatted the boot folder while we were trying to root it. It didnt start after that. I flashed "adv-source-v5.img" and the custom rom by @m3dd0g but my phone is now on infinite restart process, what to do. It can be flashed now also, I tried that, but dont have all the files and resources can anyone help me out please :crying:
The following things can still be done:
1:I can load my phone into clockwork recovery
2:I can flash files through computer
The following are the major problem
1:while in cwm, I am unable to access sdcard
2:the phone is on restart loop

2 choices for you.
-Download a .ftf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439438 and flash it with Flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319 .
-Download the custom Rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438594 put your phone on fastboot mode (plug Usb while pushing volume up) and use adb for push the ROM to the root of your internal memory. Then you can flash it from recovery.
Edit: here a thread if you don't know well adb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17123601

Happy it worked. Root the device is really simple, if you don't make mistake by erasing necessary partition ^^ you can as well root with a program.

You can root without it. I guess you unlocked your bootloader if not you couldn't have installed the recovery. So for access recovery you have to:
-Turn off your phone
-Power on your phone and when you see the purple led press volume up
-Then your phone will boot on CMW.
And then you can flash the root zip.
But for root you can also use vroot amd it doesn't require to unlock bootloader or install any recovery. But as you already did all of it you can simply flash the .zip.

The problem is there is no purple led blinking although I restarted my phone twice and to double check I went in service menu and it was written
"bootloader unlocked:yes"

So now you can restart the phone. You flashed a .ftf? if so you loosed the recovery as in Sony recovery is on the kernel. You need to flash it back with adb. Which firmware did you flash?

Geek? Lmao!
So as you flashed the .ftf you no longer have recovery. Start to follow this thread that explain you how to flash the recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426736
Then when it is done go to this thread and follow how to flash the .zip for root your phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2431252 just download supersu zip and flash it. Do not install the recovery he give on this thread, just supersu.
