So I bought one of the cheap Ebay 1800mAH batteries. I received it today & I pulled the sticker off the top of it & just like every other knockoff battery I've bought on Ebay it is not 1800mah. Underneath the sticker it says 1000mah.
Do not buy these batteries unless you want a low capacity battery.

Well Crap
I ordered these off ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-1800MAH-HIGH...s=63&clkid=1231665763605057141#ht_1860wt_1140
[Edit: this user has sold like 350 of these things and gotten no bad reviews on it yet that I can tell.....so either no one's checking battery life before rating or else he's legit?]
So OP, the sticker thing--Mine look a lot like yours but if I try to peel off the sticker, I think I'm getting into the battery itself--metal and stuff seems be be underneath it. But the wrapper on mine looks identical to yours--should I try peeling? I don't want to damage the batteries...
Also, as to performance, what's the best way to test? I guess I can just reboot the phone and wait a set amount of time then measure the battery level (assuming no phone calls, etc)--but even then there are issues of network, etc. Maybe I should just turn off wi-fi, go into airplane mode, then watch 30 minutes of Tron and see where the battery is afterward?
I've got a battery app that shows the % life left and few other things (like how much juice has gone to the screen and specific apps, etc) but I don't think it does what I need it to. I'm willing to pay a few bucks in the market for a great battery monitor.
I have 2 from ebay that look exactly the same and they work perfectly fine, every bit as good as the one that came with it.
I just bought 3 of those with the wall charger the other day. Guess we'll see how they are when they get here.

Exactly like mine or like OP's?
My friend has those batteries and he let me Barrow one and it lasted just as long as the one that came with my phone.
I have two of them and they seem to last just as long as the OEm. Maybe you got ripped.

I got a few of these too and I pealed the sticker and mine say the same thing 1000mah (on the metal looking part). They seem to last pretty long though, maybe 75% of the original. this definitely sucks. Thanks OP for the heads up. I ordered the 2000mah batterys that just popped up on ebay yesterday (from Hong Kong) I will post back when I receive them.
I have contacted both the sellers I ordered from and reported this to ebay, waiting for replys.
Here is what you do!
Here is what you do. If you have a few hours to kill and it is what I did to test my 4G batteries I bought. I would charge the batteries and turn on a navigation app and select a location and let it constantly check and update until the battery dies. With the OG EVO it took like 4 and half hours. and with the siedio 1750 i got an extra 20 mins.
Also the extended batteries would not reach a full charge until SBC kernels showed up, heck the stock batteries didnt get a full charge either so maybe that could be why?
anyways, a lot of people scam others with BS claims on battery ratings on ebay I ordered a 2000 mah battery for my evo and i pulled the sticker and it said 950.
Buyer beware!
Becareful put cheap junk in your superphone.
Why try and run your Porche on cheap of brand 87 octane when it calls for SHELL 93? Yeah it may run but not as well!

Yes it is safe to pull the sticker off. Mine has the metal too as you can see from my pics. I didn't pull from the same part you started to pull from. I started on the back side. The black part. You should see where the sticker ends and you can pull them back from there.
This has been a scam on these types of batteries for a while now. It may seem like you are getting the same battery life, but if you are using battery intensive applications and radios you will see that it is not. With my OG Evo I had 4 cheap Ebay batteries that all claimed to be 3500mah, but none of them even compared to my Sprint branded 2600mah battery. It outlasted those cheapies by almost double. I am sure that maybe there are some legit batteries out there and maybe even on Ebay, but as far as I can tell every single one of these batteries is less capacity then claimed.
I am no expert on testing batteries. All I did was pull the black sticker back to reveal that the battery is 1000mah instead of 1800 mah as claimed.
I bought the battery from here: Ebay
no offense guys, but when you buy a battery that cost 5 dollars, when the oem batteries are 50; do you really expect the same kind of performance?
Now, I agree that the OEM's mark up these things at least 100%, but, you still can't expect top performance when you buy a no name battery as cheaply as they are on Ebay..

right! you get what you paid for, I buy these with the expectation that i'll use them as a backup battery, not as a primary battery that last longer.
in my opinion, even the name brand like Sedio or Mugen "slim extended" battery which cost an arm and a leg are still no better than OEM. even the bulky one don't have as much mah as they claim, although definitely more mah than oem standard
fantasy.bid
I ordered one from fantasy.bid for my samsung transform. And they sell the 1800 evo 3d batteries as well. But after realizing how hard the back was to get off, I am going to get one of these 4,000 batteries for 75 bucks!
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy40hev3d-bk.htm
That thing is huge. I would rather carry a second battery and not deal with the heft. Yeah, you have to swap it out but I'd rather do that than carry that thing around. I didn't see the weight but that's a consideration also. To each his own, if that works for you i'm glad you found a solution.

I've been on battery 4hrs and am at 66% after using cardio trainer and listening to music for an hour... FWIW
I bought 9 ebay batteries for my original Evo and they all worked just as well as the OEM.
They last about 2 hours of heavy use maximum but for 12$ u get at least 5 hours of battery time ,so its worth it even tho the battery doesn't charge in the phone and it makes your status bar battery icon go gray with a line thru it
I've had my Vibrant for a little over a year and I'd like to get a new battery for it. I saw someone say there were 1600 and 1700 mah batteries that fit over the stocking housing for our Vibrants. I'd really like to pick up one of those if possible.
Any recommendations? Preferably off of amazon.com
I've bought several batteries off amazon and I find the stock oem batteries to be the best

eBay is probably your best bet for getting them cheap, but Shortbus is right, the OEM batteries seen to be the most consistent and reliable. I'm running the Mugen 1700mAh replacement for the i9000, and I don't feel like I'm getting any significant amount of extra time out of it, its just a pain in my arse to charge it (takes almost 50% longer than OEM to charge, and actually loses charge if I use the phone while its plugged in). If you can locate the OEM Samsung 1650mAh batteries, I would go with that, but they're hard to find.
Sent from my rough sketch of a Vibrant on a brick.
Thanks for the advise guys. Gonna look high and low for a 1650 oem.
Anyone know if the I9100 battery will fit the I777? I see a lot of sellers listing the battery working for both the AT&T I777 and the International I9100.

I got the 2000 mah anker battery off eBay works great! !!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA Premium App
The dimensions for the i777 Samsung battery are 59x46x5 mm. I searched and couldn't find dimensions anywhere for the i9100 oem battery. Anyone with i9100 mind measuring the battery dimensions? I hate to order a bunch of stuff only to find it doesn't fit. I don't 100% trust the descriptions on most of the ebay stuff.
Do the I9100 batteries have 3 or 4 contacts? If only 3, they probably won't work, or might damage the additional spring clip in the phone for the 4th contact. (which, if the I9100 batteries only have 3 contacts, means the 4th is for NFC.)
Let me help you guys out here. I ordered 3 international gs2 batteries 2 months ago in preparation for this phone and they work just fine in the att version. the dimensions are exactly the same and everything has been just peachy.

does it give you more power? or it's just labeling? also, will the stock back cover still fit?
I don't see 2000mah on ebay, just 1900mah for anker battery.
Thanks guys, I think I will go ahead and order some i9100 batteries then. There are a lot more options available than for the i777 stuff right now.
Note that anything that includes an alternative battery door won't work. The battery doors ARE different.
Yeah I assumed that and wasn't going to go with an extended battery but do plan on getting a dock which should be similar enough to work well.

It MAY or MAY NOT fit, but I can tell you that the NFC antenna in the SGH-I777 (ATT GalaxyS 2) is embedded into the battery. So even if the battery contacts do match, at the very least you'll lose the ability to do NFC. And further, if Samsung messed with the voltages or signalling on the pins (which they might have done in order to get the NFC antenna hooked into the mainboard), you could potentially fry your phone. Instantly, or maybe even over time...
Until further work is done to figure out exactly what goes on what pin, and how it compares to the i9100, I wouldn't use an i9100 battery if I were you...
I got this battery with a dock charger and it works fine but when I plug it in to anything (computer/usb or power/usb) it freezes the phone and makes it cycle the battery charging/phone off symbol while the battery(?) makes a very quiet clicky sound. Not good. So I started charging it on the dock (came with a spare battery charging slot) and carrying it as an extra. It works fine, just don't charge your precious AT&T Galaxy S2 with it.
I did the shot at this angle so you could see the contacts, I saw some mention of it. My bad on the upside-down hah.

Ah, good to know that's been established.
The people who actually bought a bigger battery off ebay, could you please post who the seller was? I see a few batteries for sale but I have been screwed before so that would be awesome if you could post who the seller was that you bought from. I'd love to have two extra batteries on hand. Thanks in advance.
Video just comparing the cases....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV0vAQtOfns
Droidax 1650mAh Battery Case: The worst out of the 3. I only get approx. 30% extra battery when I should be at least 75% based on its stats. This is my second case from the mfg. because I had the same issue with the first one. My opinion is that they need to use better components when making the case such as a better battery. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this case. If they upgrade the internals then maybe I would change my opinion, but until then. Hell I would pay more for it if I new it was of better quality because I do like the design of it.
Powerskin: I just received it and I will test it and report back. First impressions is that it looks to be made well, but it's also the largest out of the 3
Ebay 3500mAh with Battery Cover: OK $8.99 I should stop right there, but I wont. So I have gone through 1 full cycle and it lasted 1day 7hours with moderate use. The next couple of charge cycles should even improve my time as the battery breaks in. So far no boot loops. I charged it with the car charger, the regular phone charger, a BlackBerry Charger, and now my Computer as I type this. Awesome, so awesome I ordered a second one just for the hell of it this morning (also I want to see if the second one has any issues). The great thing is it comes from NYC and I'm not to far from there so I get it quick.. The cover fits great as well, really no issues when it comes to that.

Quick Update...
So far I'm very impressed with my 3500mAh extended battery. Its performing great. I'm charging it for the third time since I got it and have had no problems with boot loops or anything else. Its been lasting 2 full days with moderate to heavy usage.
The Powerskin I have used once and it only gave me a 40% increase in charge to my phone. I will test it some more, but in all reality I will probably return it because its very big in comparison to everything else that's out there and a 40% lift in battery for $70 is not good. Maybe it will perform better the second time around. We will see!

I'm on unnamed rom, I keep sync off unless I need it and on light days I'll have about 16-17 hours on battery and the phone will be at approx 70%. On heavy days and that's when I'm really trying to drain the battery I'll have the same amount of time on the battery but be down to about 5-6% battery. Heavy use is gaming upon gaming, internet, and video use. I have 2 of these batteries and I feel I get a slightly better performance out of the second one. I'm sure these are not a true 3500mAh but for the $8 and no boot loops its definitely worth the investment..
I have been debating about trying the Mugen 3200mAh, but the $98 price tag seems a little steep....
I have a friend that works at AT&T and he just sent me a pic of this product they just got in. It is a spare battery charging system with the spare battery included and it is listed at $49. It is on the AT&T website just Google "spare battery charging system galaxy note at&t" and it is about the 6th one down.

personally I'd buy something similar from amazon or ebay before I blow $50 on a charging solution...
OEM original is a huge ripoff!
I bought this, 2 battery with battery charger for only 14.99$ !
I used this battery for 3 days now (I charge it nightly when I go sleep),
and I can't tell the different between this cheap battery and OEM original!
this cheap battery lasts just as long as original OEM!
the battery also weight the same as original, it's possible the battery made by the same company, just a different label.
battery charger works on AC and on car with microusb charging!
I highly recommend it!

The product has been in stores at launch date of the g-note, don't know why your friend's store just now receiving it. As for the item, it does what its design to do. Just make sure to connect it to a charger with more than 500mA or else it will be an all day process. I wouldn't and didn't pay $50 for this product.

Update us later to see how the batteries hold a charge after some use. Seems like a really good deal
Not that I'm questioning u and ur after market battery, just heard a lot of bad things about non OEM batteries. They may be cheaper but they don't last as long as the OEM ones even if they are larger mah batteries

not all non-aftermarket are junk.
I used to have aftermarket battery for Sony x1,
that battery rated the same mAh as OEM
but battery is much lighter and doesn't hold that much charge.
this aftermarket battery for note is heavy, weights the same as OEM.
I have been using this aftermarket battery for 4 days now, it lasts the whole day
I have no need to swap to the other battery. (I charge phone nightly when I go sleep)
I wish someone would make a charging solution that would work with most cases...
