Doesn't look like it has any s-view functions. Missing posts on the back of the case.
I wouldn't bother.
It's just a flap with a window on it so it's only going to show what's on your background.

You are misinformed. This case can be enabled for s view functions.
ANY flip case with window (even without pins) can be modded for s view functions and wireless charging. I have made one for myself. It works great for receiving calls, texts and alarms. See relavant video in my youtube uploads which can be found in my tag line. I have two versions made with 2 different wireless charging receivers. Or you could just skip the wireless charging and just enable the s view functions.

You dont need to mod the case, only use wireless charging insert if you want wireless charging. for the s view functions you just need free app called s view by hatroid or the paid version which has more options, i have explained this in the youtube videos for both versions of wireless charging receivers that i have for the N3. i used a cheap case with window that cost me less than £5 delivered. s view functions work fine for calls, texts and alarms etc.
i myself had considered buying the case which the OP posted here and in my video (1st one for note 3 s view case, i have 2 such videos with different receivers) i clearly mention that the app allows 2 windows to be used in the pro version. I myself have customised what is shown in the window to display my youtube user name. you could display what you want via the settings menu.
Dont give wrong information to the OP that it doesnt work, it does work, if you want to make it work then watch the videos. You can yourself make a wireless charging s view case for under £15 like me too. It works great.

What are you talking about?
I never said anything about wireless charging. I'm talking about s-view functions.
You specifically said "This case can be modded for s-view functions"
I said it didn't have the pins for s-view functions. If you can mod it, great. Good. Super.
Modding something to work and having it work out of the box are two different things.

You can put a 4$ insert from eBay and enable sview functions as explained in my video for any cheap case with a window. It will be almost as good as the official works charging sview case for any phone that allows flip cases with window and nut just the note 3!
I know because I have 2 different wireless charging receivers Which I have used in 3rd party cases and enabled sview functions and I also have the official sview wireless charging case and it isn't much better and in fact might be irritating as the damn official case cost £59.99 plus status open often.

So I didn't see any threads for this iRainy case that I found on Amazon. It claims to be a "S View Flip Cover Smart Folio Case for Samsung With Auto Wake Function". I'm thinking about ordering it until my Spigen Neo Hybrid comes in to see what it's about.
I figured I'd start a thread for questions on it and because I figured some people might consider this versus the $60 Official Samsung S View case.

Review (in progress):
First Impressions -
Build Quality: 9
Ergonomics/feel: 8
Functionality: 9
So I want to use it for a week or so before I make my final conclusions, but my first impressions are very high. The build is solid, the functionality is spot on (I was a skeptic as well), and the feel is pretty premium for a replica/generic brand. So far I'm very happy to have spent 9.99 for this.
TL; DR In the pictures you can make note of the main big questions:
1. The IC chip is present and fully functioning.
2. The case is snug but not as drastic as some reviews and people would have you think. I think it's appropriate for the style of case.
3. All S View functions activate (power on) and deactivate upon opening case.
4. The volume up and down indicators are present.
5. S View window is nice and sensitive, s pan tested through screen protector and view window.
More impressions to come as I actually use it. As of today I fully recommend it. Might pick up another color.
{Update 12/04/2013}
Conclusion: So after a few days of using the case. I definitely recommend it. It has held up well. The functionality is spot on and has no issues. The feel and look of the case is pretty nice. The only con really is getting used to the plastic view screen because it can get smudged on the inside and outside. Otherwise, great case.
odd that in one pic they don't have the contacts and in the next they do (irainy one).

+1 At $10 this thing is a steal compared to the official Samsung view case... but I need to hear some actual reviews before I go wasting money.

On eBay you can also find them. Maybe a bit more ($15), but with free shipping worldwide.
These looks very interesting. I use a TPU case now that fits in my Samsung generic multimedia dock and an iOttie XL car dock. I'd like to know if these cases will fit in these docks when the cover is folded around the back of the phone. Some pictures of one folded back would help.
Are you sure it came with the pin it shows on ebay it doesn't have the pins

Just purchased these two days ago from china, was going to buy a few non oem S View cover and the yijieneng qi receiver to enable the S view function and at the same time have Qi wireless charging, the yijieneng receiver is the only receiver on the market that can be used with the oem/non oem S View cover without modification, this receiver is sandwiched between the phone and the ic on the S Veiw cover.
Recently released is the new Nillkin S View/Qi set.
The set contains the S View case and a Qi wireless receiver, the differences between this and other products on the market is, the S View case does not need a IC, the S View IC is built into the Qi wireless receiver, with this set you must use your existing oem battery cover, the case clips onto the frame of the phone.
With this set, it works perfect, if you need to know, and I think many people wants to know as well, yes you can use this receiver with the oem/non oem S V iew cover with or without the built in IC, other branded and non branded cover can also be used, but you must confirm that the cover does support the S View feature, The cover must have a built in magnet and is located on the front cover about 1.5cm from the bottom just next to the folding area.
About the receiver, apart from being S View/Qi compatible, the receiver is nothing like what people has purchased online, The quality is excellent, this receiver does not use a flexi coil or the copper coil, instead it's the same as that of the sandisk receiver that I have posted before which uses a copper coil eched within a thin PCB.
Model number is covered for particular reasons.
No link will be posted, please do not ask.

the s view ic is built in to the wireless receiver, you will need to use your oem battery cover for this.
this is one of the two available on the market, the other being a non branded one, i will be getting a few more of this, and the non branded one, see which one offer better usability.

and yes, this case will work with any version of android. as long as it's on the note 3.
nice, the gold trim on the note 3 is an especially nice touch.

Hi Guys,
I have few queries related to NFC and NFC Tags.
1# I’m using this Leather Flip cover for my Note 3

}
and can I use NFC tag with this cover on? As the backside leather and the phone holder plastic cover is thicker together so I’ve no idea if this work.
2# I have no idea about NFC tags, so a branded one (Samsung TecTile) is good or non branded low cost one? A low cost non branded one can harm the phone anyway? Or any performance issue? Or compatibility issue?
3# what is the difference between Samsung TecTile and TecTile2 I somewhere read Samsung TecTile doesn’t work with newer phones like note 3, I’m not sure.
4# I heard NFC tag which has good data capacity is better for multitask etc but I’ve no idea which data capacity should considered as good. One I’ve seen very low cost and it says: “Enough memory for general usage : 137 bytes + 7 bytes unique id number” and compatible with all NFC phones.
5# Say if the NFC tags works with my leather cover and I’ve seen NFC tags works from few cm distance, not require a physical touch always. So in that case will it also work from a little distance with the cover on? The reason I’m asking like in car I’ve to turn on the Bluetooth all time, so I wanted to place it somewhere, if I seat in car the BT will be activated. I don’t want to take the phone from my pocket and touch at the dash NFC tag.
Please advice. Thanks in advance!

I'll take a plug at this:
#1 - As long as you're 5mm or less away from the nfc to the tag. Have you tried any nfc scans or connections with other users? To tell you the truth, I have a Neo hybrid case and my cousin has a otter box defender. We use Sbeam/nfc transfers for movies and photos all the time. We should just use bluetooth but i can't be bothered with disconnecting my car/headset to transfer something on the go.
#2 - I dont think a non-branded one would cause harm to a phone. As far as I know nfc tags are nfc tags unless they are made by Sony... Sony S%^& don't work with anything but Sony. I have a bunch of Sony NFC tags I can't even re-program with my N3. I tried a third party program and still can't re-program them.
#3 - I don't know... size and frequency maybe.
#4 - General use is 1-4 commands. One that can hold more data can house web addresses, contact info, info, ads, etc.
#5 Your going to have to actually swipe it across the tag. NFC doesn't trigger at a large distance. NFC is a magnetic switch.

Hi SladeZero,
Thanks for your feedback. These details are enough for me. No I haven’t tried NFC yet, even with other phones. Something like never required, but I will try it soon.
3# I googled it and learn about different NFC and their compatibility. Samsung TecTile doesn’t work anymore with latest phone and TechTile2 does.
4# the one I was talking about is NTAG203 which is universal these days and it has 144 bytes which is ok for usual tasks but not good for big storage like business card etc.
5# yea I’m thinking to put the tag in my car key, so whenever I drive I will just touch the key to my pocket, I don’t want to take the phone out each time.

Hope this is what you're looking for
I was actually in the Sprint (corporate) store earlier today and saw these in stock, I have one myself on a N900P. Don't mind the damage, it's actually quite a nice case
I have long lost the packaging of course, and Sprint doesn't make a mention of it in their online accessories catalog but I can assure you IT DOES EXIST! A phone call to your local store, or possibly if you can trace it from the serials in these photos...
PS - Here is the rainbow of colors available in 'Note 3 S View'
(Click the second photo in link above)
It's available for alot cheaper than the Sprint store too ofc! GOOGLE
**Edit #98743982 - You requested 'GLOSSY' sorry if this is no help!
Sorry for the lines in the photo below, the case does not actually have these matrix glitches in it, the S3 I happened to grab to take the photos has a few issues :cyclops:
One thing I thought was worth mentioning: I didn't see it noted on the packaging but after ~8 months of having this case, I popped it open today to remove the SD and noticed these pins, the type used for qi wireless charging! I haven't tested it, so no guarantees but surely they aren't in there for decoration
Thanks for the heads up !
Actually no, I am only looking for those which are glossy like in the picture I posted, for the Galaxy S5 ...
I do have a glossy battery door at home - can post photo when I am back home -, but I wanted to know if there exists flip cover, or sview flip cover of the same material as my glossy battery door. The closest and best example of what I want is the s-view flip cover for the S5 which I posted.
Regards

Nope. If there were -THREE- pins then yes, it has an embedded Qi receiver. On the back of the Note 3 there are 3 contacts. If you label them 1, 2, and 3 from top to bottom, then 1 and 2 are for charging (not just Qi either, but any 5V source - pin charging mods anyone?). Pins 2 and 3 are for the special authentication chip that's embedded into the OEM S-View cover which enables S-View mode (there was a big flap about this when Samsung updated the OS and all the third party S-View covers without the chip stopped working).

I had no knowledge of your point, and upon inspecting my cover it appears that my oem s view cover only contains 2 pins. The website claims that it does contain a qi receiver, although I haven't had a charger to test it yet (hopefully next month) Regardless, I thought it worth mentioning that in my inspection it appears (photo attached) as though the 2 pins line up with pins 2 and 3 using the method you describe. Below these two pins is a small green portion that resembles the material that the pins protrude from that states 'A20 DAI' which presumably contains the chip you mention.

Anyone have tips on making a charger stand or dock?
I basically have to have my watch on its face to charge.
Mine charges perfectly fine.. Never need to put it on its face.
I have the gunmetal with the brown leather band. I'm able to set it upright on the band with the band open. It doesn't look great but at least it's face up.
Would a *spit* applewatch stand work, or would the weight of the watch cause it to fall off? Could mould a disc from plastic or something to fit the circle and poke the charger through for the Zen?
You could use a simple wooden dowel with a 45° angle and screw the charging kit on top. (it looks like the old charging kit doesn't fit and we have to wait for a new version)
Built one
I've got the same Idea and built a dual Charger today. Looks great and works great, too

damn, this looks nice.
at the moment I'm thinking about something bigger where I can place all my devices (watch, phone, tablet, battery pack, ...)
Do you know a _good_ charging station with 2.4A? something like this?
Thanks!
I'm using a product called "tizi tankstelle" which can be found on amazon. They've got other USB-Chargers etc. as well. You can have a look here:

You can use this with any Apple Watch stand and you have one for under $30.

Dude that is flipping sweet. In fact I think I will make that tonight. My phone wirelessly charges, so I would want to have a hole on the base to fit the puck. I actually think I would like the phone to be inclined with a footer, so I can just drop it without having to worry about alignment.
Wow what a great idea. It would make great gifts too.
The only problem I would have is I have a metal band that doesn't open, so I would have to make a L bracket so I can slide it over.
Thanks. Pls upload a picture of your finished work
If you want to go cheap I found 2 projects on Thingiverse. In my current city there are no 3D printer (checked on 3dhubs.com), once I'll come back to the University I'll try to print something.

Yes, I actually bought two. It worked perfectly in two different watch stands.
Has anyone found a source for spare charging cables yet? Google Store doesn't allow me to put in cart... Must be because I'm in Canada. :/

I am in the same boat. Would love a spare charger for at work.
hopefully ebay will have these soon enough.
Side note: do you find your watch has horrible connection distance/ always disconnects?

Yes, yes I do. One of the things I have found that helped a bit was to go into the Battery in the Settings, hit the 3dot menu, go into Battery Optimization and stop optimizing Android Wear. Hasn't solved the problem, but it has helped.
Either this is an issue with the Nexus 6P's bluetooth or the Zenwatch 2 is screwing bluetooth up big time. I've been having issues with my bluetooth headphones and with uConnect in my truck too. Eventually I need to take the ZenWatch 2 out of the equation and see if my BT problems go away. But it's been bad.

Thanks for this. I ordered mine from Amazon, and was surprised how well it worked. Bought an elander stand to go with it and it's pretty well perfect. Only wish there was more hardware/software support for this watch, as I'm finding that there isn't a lot out there for it. Shame too, because I think it's a very underrated watch.
If I may make a suggestion, the imprinted logo on the bottom doesn't make for adhering a sticky patch on it all that great.
