Hey
I can't see my device (S3 i9300) in my PC. I tried updating the drivers without luck. I'm running CM11 4.4 KitKat.
Any ideas?

Yes but it's not the USB cable that is faulty, it has something to do with the ROM because it worked perfectly fine before.

Just got my TMo S3 yesterday, and before moving forward with rooting it - as always with new phones - I started trying all the options with the existing stock ROM and vendor stuff, to understand what to expect, should something come down that pipe, later on. Things noticed (phone connected to a mac osx lion):
- the "universal" Android file transfer app won't work at all - cannot find device. Works for other Android devices, so that's not the app or the USB
- the kies app (which I installed from Samsung's site) prompted me for a firmware upgrade, which I agreed with -> marked as "SGH-T999 ver 12.04.12.01". The process appeared to go just fine (albeit taking more than 15min), after which the keis app asks again for the upgrade, to the same firmware level ... what gives?!?

OOPS ... sorry for the "noise" - taking my toys to another place
Ok so i read the rules as carefully as i could and im feeling like i am in the right place so here goes.
I wanted to root my phone (S3 T999V Wind) and i did not get an original usb cable - My first ever phone with android OS and my first time rooting actually - with it and i was a bit worried cuz i read where rooting with unofficial cables could cause problems. I couldn't get it but i had 3 different types. So i tested them all out by running test with odin and kies to see which connects properly.
Two didnt work right, the one that worked was one i got with my bamboo tablet. Everything worked smooothly so i am sharing my findings, It might (cant guarantee) help someone else.
So what i am asking is, who else use another usb cable other than the samsung cable and it worked? Please share!

USB cable should make no difference providing it is 100% .

Hi all, ok its been a very long time since i rooted my sg3 , ok i have an s3 locked to vodafone and is running rom 4.1.2 baseband I9300XXEMG4, So is this normal verizon/sprint phone and yes im in the UK.
What i need to no is can somebody post a link to me and the latest easier way to root my S3 Please, sorry to have forgotton the whole thing but its been ages since i last rooted,
Also are there any latest sound boosting hacks that are available now ?
And finally sorry for posting in wrong section to the admin if i have.

Makes no sense, this forum is for the i9300 international -if you have a sprint then you'll brick it with files from this forum.
Suggest you go read the sticky thread in general, rather than posting questions already asked a thousand times.
Start by finding out what phone you have .
Details are under the battery .
If it is an I9300 then all the information is posted .
Basics read first.

Oh i am of the same opinion your question made no sense as sprint verizon is USA and therefore would be in the wrong forum .Likely you would brick the phone if asking for
information here would be extremely high if that was the case and you suggest you have Vodaphone UK phone but ask about some other model .

I have an S3 I9300, international and when i flash MS TEAM HD 12.1 ROM i have an issue whit modem, phone can`t conect to network, get this error: No service .
If i try to see IMEI (*#06#) i can clear see it (is not null) .
I try to install anothers modem with no success .
Can anyone help me ?
Perhaps i didn`t use the correct version of modem .

I am having same strange issues with google now after flashing stock touchwiz android 4.3 on me galaxy s3. It doesn't show cards when i open it and when i try to set a remainder it show me to opt in to google now but it doesn't do anything when i pres opt in. And when i go to settings/help and feedback it shows "Google now is turned off for your domain". I am signed in with my personal account and i never had this problem before. I also tried to clear cache but it didn't work. Can somebody help me with this problem?

I have searched a lot for this issue but i couldn't find anything that resolved my case. I've tried to use e different account, phone reset, re-flashing the rom but nothing worked. If you could give me a link to e thread that didn't had one of this as a solution i would be really thankful.
