[UNOFFICIAL] Cyanogenmod 11 for LG P760/P765 | F2FS | 27-10-2014 - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Discussion and Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-l9/general/discussion-cyanogenmod-11-t2845759
Hi. I built CyanogenMod 11 for LG P760/P765. It is stable for use, but there are some small bugs.
What’s working: Almost all!
What’s not working/has bugs:
Tell me!
Kernel and rom features:
Compiled with SaberMod 4.8 toolchain with @JustArchi opt flags
Ramhack 819Mb
Better battery life
OC to 1350 Mhz
GPU OC to 384 Mhz
Many tweaks
Sound boost on headphones
Updated screen driver
Wifi Direct
F2FS filesystem used by default
GPS fixed (use app included in rom)
Power saving mode (automatically enabled when needed)
Black and white interface more kitkat (not blue and black like cm)
Internal sd disabled
Added BLN support (L9 BacklightMod app)
Support for 5Ghz wifi
OTA updates
Support for f2fs, ExFat and NTFS filesystem
Bluetooth Low Energy support
Less battery drain by screen (lower screen refresh rate)
Better multicore managing
What you need:
LG P760/P765
Unlocked bootloader
My TWRP (only my supports f2fs), you can download it here.
Flashing:
Flash my recovery
Boot to TWRP
Go to settings
Check “Force data and cache wipe functions to use f2fs” and “Include system partition”
Go to main menu and click wipe. Check data and cache and confirm
Flash ROM
Flash fix (if any)
Flash Gapps (if you want)
Reboot system now!
ROM WORKS ONLY WITH RECOVERY HERE!!!
DO FULL WIPE, EVEN IF YOU WERE USING CM11 BEFORE, BECAUSE NEW VERSION USES NEW FILESYSTEM. YOU NEED TO WIPE TO CHANGE FILESYSTEM TO F2FS. CHECK INSTALLATION SECTION. ROM SUPPORT LATEST BASEBANDS CORRECTLY (DEPENDS OF VARIANT).

Use flashify from playstore, very handy tool

Flashed, still setting it up. It looks very nice, no hiccups as of now. Can't find the option to slide-adjust brightness, maybe it's missing.
Cant wait to test ART and get rid of dalvik finally
It's just rebooted after this setting, but it takes a while to rebuild cache. I wonder if it's fully operational, thought CM didn't merge this one.
Anyhow - huge thanks for a new toy to meddle with, will report back with GPS, battery and such.

how to get camera working on p768?

In Germany we have a Word for such a great Work: GEIL! :good:

Apart from GPS I don't have any problems at all, it's great. I would also like to see sliding brightness control, but I know it's dependant on sources. Also some toggles aren't available.

If you mean quick toggles, you can change them in settings->interface->quick settings panel
And you can adjust brightness in display settings

Seems like someone was faster than me beenwirking on it too, but I ran into some build errors. Maybe I can get them fixed now and also solve some of your bugs let's see how far we can get with our kernel... Seems like a lot of bugs will remain, as we dont have a 3.4 kernel. But glad that we have a new toy

When we finally managed to fix gps issue in 4.3 roms we run into it again. Come on Artas, I believe in you, great work man.

ZRAM USAGE:
As stated in changelogs since the 4.2 stable version this driver is activated by default. To see how it's running you can use adb or terminal emulator: type
Code:
free
and you'll see swap paging.
To deactivate at next boot: you need a root explorer (i suggest ES File manager, free on playstore) and create a new file called ".noswap" in system folder, reboot and zram will not longer work. To reactivate delete the file above and reboot again.

The kernel can be installed from recovery CWM or by using Odin.
If you download the zip version of CWM reboot into recovery and select install zip from sd card. Reboot and enjoy!
If you download the Tar archive, reboot your device in download mode. Start Odin as administrator (if you use Winblows 7 or Vista) and select PDA. Choose the tar archive and connect the device. Click on start and wait the magic, then remove the cable when the device restarts. Now you can enjoy ..

I am not responsible for damage caused by flash the kernel or to damage caused by YOUR negligence in performing editing operations of the terminal.
This kernel, although based on the samsung official sources, it is not an official binary and as such will be recognized by bootloader: that means by installing it you have lost your warranty.
We are adults and vaccinated and are conscious of what we do, if you're not or you have any doubt, DO NOT flashate do this nor any other kernel.

That is the history of speedwizz kernel, as well as to help out because reading a changelog is always good thing, in this case serves as a reminder to me ...
I started with a good base kernel (SpeedMod for the hardcore) but virtually stripped of all the features we are used to, even the most simple (eg bootanimation) .
I can guarantee that for a noob like me has been (and will continue to be) a tough battle ....... Huge thanks to all the developers, i am learning so much from you.
Changelog Latest version 4.2 stable build
(from version 4.1 beta2)
- New configuration file: speedwizz_defconfig
totally abandoned def_config derived from SpeedMod, the kernel continues on its path already since several versions before this
- Updated the cross-compiler to Linaro Toolchain 4.7 (08-2012)
The result is a general optimization of the code which results in less consumption of resources and greater stability.
Seeing is believing.
- This build fixes several compilation warnings and for several I mean about thirty
the warning message is a message from the compiler, it is not a fatal error (in fact, the compilation went fine) and if it's about an uninitialized function can sometimes affect the stability of a program (the kernel is a set of programs written mostly in C language) .
Most of the warnings that have at compile time are caused by variables or functions not used.
Obviously, the biggest advantage in NOT have this kind of warnings is that less code "dead" is inside a kernel than fewer resources will use the kernel to perform their tasks and the kernel will be more powerful in terms of fluidity and stability.
In any case i will consider a warning as a bug (generally speaking) even if minor, or even if it is not perceptible by the user.
- Added NSTools
You can use this app to configure all the parameters that are managed by the user, OC, UV, BLN, startup scripts, etc. ..
- Improved support to init.d
Now you will create a special folder init.d if it is not present in the rom (as in the case of the stock rom), if it exists this will not be touched and will be activated only support to run parts.
- Cleaned up some scripts in the initramfs
many things were unnecessary and linked to the use of extweaks (since the initramfs kernel are derived from Siyah kernel), which as you know is not supported by the kernel
- Added support to form Zram and Swaps
Enabled by default but can be disabled by the user through simple instructions.
The use of zram is to use a portion of RAM allocated compressed in a single device, in the specific case of this kernel with a capacity of 300mb and allocated in the ram itself, with a compression ratio of about 50%, for a total of about a gig of ram total between real and tablet.
The main advantage consists in maintaining applications in cache (non-active) for a period longer than normal, with a consequent advantage in the experience multitasking.

Changelog Latest version 4.1 beta2
(from version 4.0)
- Improved support for the following categories of Rom (this list includes only those in which the kernel has been tested for a long time, I suggest you proceed with caution, however, since it is a beta version)
1. ICS 4.0.4 Samsung
2. ICS 4.0.4 AOSP (CyanogenMod 9 - AOKP)
3. ICS 4.0.4 MIUI
4. JellyBean 4.1.1
All credits for this to Gokhanmoral, without his initramfs this was not possible!
- Fixed the autorotation bug on AOSP roms
- Modified (and fixed) the install script that caused trouble (severe) at boot: the ROM AOSP did not install the root of it (fortunately do not need it), it cwm manager.apk and even libraries for the BLN
- Fixed the driver cypress-touchkey.c for the proper functioning key illumination touch with AOSP rom and its function BLN.
- Fixed some warnings from the cross compiler

Too good this new kernel.
Performing the test since launch, super stable and battery consumption above average.
I just have a question, what is the best program to control compatible kernel.
I used Voltage control, but would like to use some other better if any??
Thanks Umberto

OMG! I have started to cry reading this post, FINALLY someone brave enough to give this kernel a shot! Well done bro! Enjoy....
Ehm, seriusly, if you want you can use Nstools as well (and better): can control all the parameters that kernel provide plus it is a good alternative to BLN pro (to set the lost call service when enabled BLN)
Try and report, please
Ps.: you are welcome, my friend..

I'll test as soon as possible and already put the result and the final considerations, rsr.
Umberto, I noticed something in your kernel, it is not compatible with the application Away Triangle, because I tried to use the application with the same Kernel and does not work.
Now I do not know if it's the version of the kernel, or the Triangle Away works only with Syah Kernel.
I'm going to this friend, I need to get back to business, I need to have a meeting with my team.
EDIT:
Although not as experienced as the settings and use the Kernel, the app is very good NSTOOL with the kernel.
A friend here in Brazil told me about Rom Toolbox, I will also try and see what happens, lol.

Ur kernel is best. I love it!

Mmmmhhhh... Strange.
Kernel should support TA. If not this mean that some of the most recent
Changes have breaked some thing.
I will investigate and repair asap.
For now you can use a compatible kernel like siyah, remove the triangle then if you want can flash speedwizz kernel using recovery, without increment counter and triangle.
Good life.

Just as I did, I put Syah, removed the triangle and went back to Speed kernel 4.0, because I'm loving the performance of this new kernel.
I enjoyed seeing you again on your project developed, even if not with the whole of your time, but I was happy.

A new version is available for test, kernel now support multi rom, but DOESN'T BOOT WITH JB 4.1.2 (due to new mali driver).

I had some small problems after they installed their latest version of the kernel, but do not know if that has something related.
My kid wont play Monster Life in Mobile, and soon after I installed the latest version of Kernel, I have noticed that the game crashes, having to turn off the phone and reconnects it, it has something to do with the kernel??
If helps, now make cleaning cache and davik too, and still have this problem sometimes
Hugs and great weekend.

If your problem is only with monster life I can tell you it is not kernel related: I've noticed that the crashes are reported as well in market comments.
Just if you are in doubt try with some other kernel and report, I can't try because I don't have a WiFi connection to download and play with it (around 115 mb if I am right).

[ROM][4.3.1][Jelly Bean] Carbon ROM [Unofficial][2014-05-0x], a ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Ace II
Contributors: judas1977, Rox, jereksel, criminal, Zwliew, cocafe and others
ROM OS Version: 4.3.1

Version Information

----------
Carbon JB [4.3.1.] Unnofficial for the Galaxy Ace II (Codina)
I take no resposibility if something will go... not as it supposed to. The responsibility for potential damages caused by installing or using of this ROM is Yours, and Yours only!
My ROM is released „as is” – you don’t like it – don’t use it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important!
Any Galaxy Ace II ROM based on Android 4.2.x+ has to be installed over Android 4.1.x+ (stock ROM, CM-like customs). You will need custom recovery (temporary one is good enough)
It is strongly recommended to make a backup before installing of ANY ROM!

As it could be my final version of Carbon ROM (and maybe my last Codina’s public ROM ever), I want to add few words…
I’m pretty sure that @Rox – our main device sources maintainer - deserves for a special thanks. I watched your progress – starting from “simple” theming You became our local hero, learning fast. I believe that the knowledge You achieved playing with our Samsung Galaxy Ace II will help you to find “a job from your dreams” in your mature life (do not hurry). I’m aware that without Your work I just couldn’t “get” Carbon (or Chameleon OS, or whatever) in current state. So once again – thanks for Your contribution!!!
To do list:
· Fixing Carbon Fibers FC’s after turning phone on
· Additional polish translation (other languages, maybe?**)
· Adding mobile data indicator arrows
** If you have free time and want to add your language translation to system apps – feel free to contact me.
Installation:
1. Put ROM’s Zip file Zip z ROMem (and other zip files - optionally) on SD Card
2. Enter Recovery Mode
3. Pick options:
a) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
b) In „mounts and storage” choose: Format System
c) (just in case) Mount system partition (it supposed to be „unmount” visible)
4. Choose Install Zip (or similar, depends on recovery version)
a) Install ROM from SD card
5. (optional) installing Gapps and other add-ons
a) In „mounts and storage” Mount /system (as described above)
b) Choose install zip and install chosen add-on
c) repeat a and b points for any other add-on
6. Reboot Phone (first BOOT could take a while)

Mine too. I have had Cm10.2 but it crashed and after that Android 4.3 hasn't worked again (up to now, maybe I try to get it working again, or I am just going to buy the Nexus 5 ).
k, will install this ROM after bored with CM10.2
Decided to give this a spin just out of curiosity and to see what it's like. (never used Carbon ROM before)
I'm curious whether the low incall patch for CM10.2 would also work with this... i'm not sure of the differences in the phone APK if any..

Thanks for your fast response..
I'll try to flash this ROM from XXMG2 Greece (Cosmote) JB 4.1.2 Base ROM.
I found Ringtone Delay bug on any other 4.3.1 Custom ROM. when I receive a notification, i see the notification icon on statusbar, but the ringtone is delaying (2 or 3 seconds after the notification icon shows on statusbar, sometimes I only hear half notification ringtones), if I find any bug on this ROM, I'll report it to you
and one more question..
I see MIUI Style on this ROM, can I use MIUI themes for this ROM (*.mtz file)?
great work, thanks!!
this rom have transition animation like rootbox and listview animation?

Haven't experienced any issues in testing the last few days.
I will flash this now and report any issues
Looks pretty sweet. Have to give it a flash tomorrow evening. Haven't run a AOSP ROM yet. What's the preferred App for Active Display?

A few bugs: Play download caused a reboot.
On nearly every reboot a 2nd reboot is needed to fix WiFi & BT.
There is no Google (voice) search via BT. Eg call Wife.
But Way cool otherwise. Saved a BU & will wait.

Haven't had any issues downloading from play. I don't have a BT headset so I can't test that, dose the hotword detection thru BT normal work on AOSP ROMs?

They all fail. I think my strorage is jacked up. I would post some screen shots of my files, but they won't even save. I have a sdcard0 folder and a emulated folder and in the emulated folder it has a 0 folder and a legacy folder. Inside the 0, legacy, and sdcard0 folder they all have the same things inside of them. So, they're all the exactly the same. I don't get it, but I'm pretty sure that has to be my issue.

That file structure is normal it started around the JB release there just symlinks. That's weird tho, did you come from s fresh install or flash over another slim build.

@DJLamontagneIII It was a fresh install. My gallery won't even read all my pics from my storage. It says no external storage available.

Yea that's weird I'd try to install again with a fresh DL. Should work on all of the msm8960dt family because its unified but what device are you using?

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] NCyanogenMod 11 for L7II

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
What are Nightly builds? Auto compiled builds of the latest CyanogenMod source from github. This version change each night and aren't officialy supported. If you find bugs/issues you can/must discuss here (do not submit nightlies bug on CyanogenMod issue tracker).
All bug reports that don't meet this conditions will be ignored:
You have the kernel provided in the zip file
You made a clean flash and didn't restore anything
You made a detailed review of the problem
You provide a logcat in a .txt file (Search internet)
You provide dmesg or last_kmsg if it is a kernel panic (Search internet)
What's working :
Booting
RIL and Mobile Data
Dual-Sim
Storages (Internal and External)
Notification Led
Flashlight
Sound
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GPS
Tethering (BT, Wi-Fi, USB)
Sensors
Video playback
Camera
Browser
What's not working :
NFC (causes instability)
Fm Radio
Cpu Governors SmartassV2 and H3 causing instability
Other stuff that is not here
I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING CM CAMERA (it can stuck and you need to restart); USE OpenCamera INSTEAD!!!
Care with volume. Lower until no cracking sound is present
Instructions :
Reboot to the latest TWRP/CWM/Philz
Make a full wipe (/system, /data, /cache, /dalvik-cache, /internal storage)
Flash the CM11 zip
Flash the four_button.zip (if you have dual)
Make factory reset
Reboot to system
Flash Gapps (if you want) => you need to test which work. Flash pico please or you will have crashes. You need to test this. FLASH ONLY AFTER FIRST BOOT
You can also flash Gapps before booting (after CM11) but if you know how to skip initialization screen (the clockwise press trick). If you don't know what I am talking about, don't ask use the flash after first boot method.
You will not have a setup wizard because I am using INIT to set device model. Please use settings to set up your stuff.

Finally
Good work
Thank you for this final effort. And thank you for the TWRP 2.8.6.0(doesn't flip the screen on reboot anymore).
I'll be sure to try your CM11 rom once I'm out of university for the summer.
This is amazing. Been waiting for CM11 all my life. Good luck in this and in all your future projects neutrondev!

I am using chromium webview not classic and genlock has some problems. It is a genlock problem that is also related to webview when I will have time I will investigate it
By the way, and it came to me just now, is it possible for you to include the following options?
- turn on/off the annoying "safe headset volume" message
- turn on/off camera shutter sound
- turn on/off heptic feedback(vibration on unlock/hold home key/input pin code when turning the device on)
- custom power off and restart option: reboot/reboot to recovery/reboot to boodloader
Those would be very comfortable for most of us, if not for everyone. Currently on the purified stock v2(KK 4.4.2) i have to use:
- GravityBox(Xposed) for headset volume message and custom restart options
- Open Camera(from play store) because it has an option to mute shutter sound
- Spare Parts to remove heptic feedback(although you can uninstall the app and still have heptic feedback disabled)
My whole point is to have the above mentioned options native to the ROM itself without using third party apps/frameworks.

Haptic feedback in stock KitKat need to edit build.prop, in CyanogenMod you can enable and disable in sound settings and lock screen settings. Advanced restart mode in developer options (I think only CyanogenMod, not sure stock roms)

You will see when, don't ask for eta.
Build will arrive soon. The thing is that I want to use Chromium Webview (it is new starting from kitkat). Before kitkat classic webview was used. I can use an external classic but I want to update the stuff to work with Chromium one.
Well just some updates. Found time to work today. Camera got fully fixed (Resume now works). I adverted GPS working. Well trying to get a signal it could not lock. That is also fixed now. I just switched to Classic Web View since exams are comming and I see no problems. We can count browser also fixed. Maybe tomorrow is a good day to release an RC already. Will test until then. Peace out.

What exactly are nightly builds? I searched a lot but still not sure how that will work with this rom. Sorry if I'm too dumb and thanks in advance!
Edit: And another question, no battery drain at the moment? (Is not listed in known issues so I guess is fixed or never wasn't there)
