You will know if its installed properly if your device shows up in device manager in your computers properties. As well as showing up in devices if you do ADB Devices.

Yes, of course...

The drivers won't install. Tried all sorts of drivers, the pc detects it as mtp but then fails to install a driver for the slider.

Your tablet doesn't need additional drivers to be installed. You should only need to install the drivers on your PC, and you're good to go.
i know but i still need the link to install the adb drivers on my computer

debugging mode and rooting

I installed all motorola atrix 2.2.2 froyo drivers on a xp sp2 and was running good then put the phone on debugging mode and connected by usb but windows was like looking for other phone and asking me to install again for drivers i didnt installed so using the last version of superopenclick then hit root but it just stay on looking for device and never found it. so cant root
when I turn off debugging mode all is ok again and windows doesnt ask for drivers .
Simply install the drivers windows is searching in debugging mode and try again. I don't know why but it needs two kinds of drivers sometimes

[Q] Unable to find ADB Interface

Hi everybody!
I've been trying to root and upgrade my Tablet S, now that it's possible in release5a. But whenever I plug the tablet to my Windows 7 PC, even debugging mode is enabled, I can't see the Android ADB interface in the device manager.
I just see the tablet listed under "Portable Devices".
I did a factory reset, but nothing.
Do you know if I'm missing any steps? It's not about drivers at this time, as there's no device detected. I tried this on two computers with the same results...
Thanks a lot!!!

Did you install the ADB drivers? If no, then install them. If yes, then reinstall them. Also, you may have to install them manually. Also make sure you have the tablet's USB debugging set to ON.
Go to BluechipJ's Automated ADB Driver Installer for Sony Tablet S and P for drivers and additional information.

Hi, I ended up solving it by praying to the windows god.
Turns out the tablet was working correctly as an MTP device, but I was able to modify the hardware item so it would be seen as a Composite MTP device. Then the ADB interfase appeared and then I was able to install drivers to it.
Anyways, thanks for the time

the second method u followed must work try again to disable driver signature enforcement and install the drivers if it shows the same error
try referring this page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff544842(v=vs.85).aspx
it explains about "Driver Package Installer (DPInst)".
What mode do you want to connect your phone? Mtp, fastboot or flash? If mtp mode its easy.. Just go to device manager and expand the usb controller you will see 1 or more "usb composite devices" listed there.. Just uninstalled every driver as that name and while you're doing it make sure your phone connected to pc in the beginning.. After uninstall succesfull just refresh device manager and it will automatically install a new driver.. Hope it help..
If it still cant recognized just reboot your pc with phone still connected to pc..

Woah really? Im using freshly-installed Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit on laptop and i didn't even installed ANY drivers yet (not even Flashtool) and my phone easily recognized although i had to do the step above sometimes. And i tried it using both USB2.0 and 3.0 and it always worked. A bad pc usb slot/data cable/phone micro usb slot maybe?

Did you look into device manager if its recognized there? Do you mean fastboot drivers or normal MTP drivers?
To install the fastboot driver, you need to deactivate the driver signature of windows 8. (just google for it, its very easy)
If it is not recognized at all, try another usb port. Does it work on other PCs?
