Rom toolbox pro backup phone data to cloud - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings,
I don't quite know where to place this, but I have Rom toolbox pro and I want everything backed up, so when I do a system reset, I get everything back. I can backup phone data, but I don't see an option to back it up on dropbox. Am I overlooking something?
Oh, also, can I only back up app data to the cloud, and not the entire app? I'll just download it when I need it, but, I'd like the app settings on the cloud.
Thanks!

Maybe the ROM toolbox thread?

How to properly use Titanium Back Up??

Hey All,
I would like to ask anyone who knows how I can properly use Titanium Backup I would really appreciate it. The problem i've had before is that when ever I backup I never seem to know how to properly back up my apps so I can also back up the data like my saved games on angry birds, and my tags on sound hound. If I back up and thn restore I always mess something up and my roms end up all screwed. please some one guide me!!!!
I usually only backup user apps. Press the options button on the bottom left of the vibrant. Then choose batch, then choose backup all user apps.

Like I said though, doing that only backs up the apps but it doesn't back up the data i.e. shazam tags, etc.

im interested in this too.
the pain of setting everything up again is actually the only thing keeping me from flashing a new rom. (flashed my mytouch so much that i only kept a few apps)
and can the free version do everything the paid version can do?

thanks alot. I'll look at it now. I hate flashing ROMS sometimes because I don't get my app data. It sucks having to start Angry Birds from leverl 1 every time I flash something!
I use mybackup pro n backup apps. ..gives option to backup apk + data. Has worked well for me. Don't have re -download apps or anything.
I know this doesn't necessarily answer the question but it gives a way to backup apps+data(bookmarks, texts, call log, settings, etc)

2 Qs Titanium backup and wallpaper

I just updated to gingerbread. Im liking it.
Im trying to add my events from my prior calender to my new one. I tried restoring the data and app and then the data and nothing appears. This also goes for my contact list. What a pain. Let me know what im doing wrong.
The wallpaper is such a headache to get right. Is there anyway i dont have to use that green box so the image isnt distorted?
Thank you

Your contacts aren't saved to your google account? Isn't calendar saved to google too?

Agree with Josh.
Your contacts and calendar should be synced through Google. That should be the easiest thing when switching ROM's.
And I don't personally like Titanium, On a fresh ROM install I rather let it re-download the apps for a fresh install. Time consuming, but worth it.
nothing comes back the gmail account is checked under calendars.
I'm new to this, but I'm on my third rom. I had contacts uploaded via Backup Assistant and apps and data through Titanium Pro. I know this is a stupid question, but did you actually go into Titanium. backup/restore, and click run?

How do you backup phone settings?

Hey guys, sorry if this is a really noob question. Is there a way to back up your phone settings so if you flash a new ROM or do a wipe you don't have to set up everything again?
For example, settings like screen timeout, sound settings, wifi settings, haptic feedback settings, etc. Is there a way to do it?
Thanks!

I usually just set everything up again, but Titanium backup is probably the most popular software out there for doing this.
nm... I realized I didn't understand the original question at first. Now I do and have nothing to say.
What I have been doing for the last year or so which works awesome for me is to use the app "app monster pro" for backup.
You can tell that app to automatically save the APk from every app you install to a folder on your card as a "plain style backup"
Then, after flashing a new ROM you simply go to that folder and click on the APKs to give you a clean install of any apps you want installed with the new ROM.
THis works super, you don't have to DL anything from the market etc and you're never left scratching your head trying to remember where you got a certain app from..........
This is WAY better than using titanium to restore.

I use Titanium Backup and it works great as long as you only backup the apps. With that being said, I have another question along this same line. I'm using one of the ICS ROMs and I want to know if there are any programs that will backup the folders that I've created?
Thanks,
Tim

hey! I have something to say now!
MyBackup pro works great for that and it's easy on the eyes, really nice for the calls and SMS part. I also like Appmonster pro since it backs up an app a soon a you download it.

Easiest way to backup your data is to copy it to a PC/Thumbdrive.

{Q} How to reinstall data after complete wipe

Having some issues with rom I'm running, but also want to know for when I flash CM10 from sense rom. How can I keep my texts, email accounts synched, app data, or reinstall it after a factory reset type wipe?
Do I go into recovery and install what file? I didn't see data as an option in twrp, only system (for wiping anyways). What is the best way to do this? I'm currently dirty flashing everything, but that won't always be doable.
Specs: S-off, newest radios/firmware, stock/goodies rom. Ummm, twrp 2.2 I believe.
Use titanium backup to back up and restore apps and app data. Emails and contacts are synced with your Google account. It's not a good idea to backup and restore system apps and data. There are apps in the play store for backing up texts.

U know, I did that on my og EVO and hated restoring each app one by one. I have tb premium now though, so I can one click restore right? For some reason not all of my contacts restore with Google, so I don't trust it. Isn't chrome supposed to back up all your passwords and usernames for websites as well?
Sorry guys, haven't wiped data since og EVO. It really got me hating to flash New roms, turned into an all day event restoring and getting it running again.

I use ROM Toolbox Pro rather than Titanium. I have flashed and restored apps/data successfully with RTP, it's worth the price.

Have to look into that. What features make it better than titback, lol? I've seen it in playstore and even reading the reviews don't get too heavy into what's so great about it. I have pretty much all the other tools it has already like file manager, overclock, backup/restore apps.
I believe u. Just really want to know what makes it so good other than a lot of tools in one app.

Nice interface, easy to use.
Backup/restore of apps actually works (I had issues with Titanium)
build.prop editor is included
Ad blocker
You can manage apps (like Titanium) and freeze/uninstall/etc
It also has some ROM management tools that look pretty sweet, though I have not used them to date.
The developer is also easily accessible via email, and is responsive, so if you have issues you can contact him.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
I love Rom toolbox and its like 50 apps in 1

S6 EDGE SM-G925F(international) Smart Switch PC Transfer Problem - Applications

Hi. As the title says i'm constantly being hit with this issue. Whenever i try to backup my phone via smart switch PC, it backups up everything except APPLICATION data.
Like, i have about 70 apps on my phone which hang around 10GB of space. It says there are no applications installed and won't back them up no matter what.
I've tried this with an older version of smart switch, as well with the latest one. I'm stuck and i don't know what to do.
Strange thing is that this worked last time i did this, few months ago. But i can't figure out what is wrong this time, as it's the same version of smart switch.
Anyone know any workarounds? Thanks in advance.
Has anyone ever experienced this particular issue? I'm still stuck and would like to back up my phone. If anyone can help me out, i'd appreciate it, thanks.

Sorry for late reply. I am not rooted, can i still backup everything to titanium/helium? Also i've never heard of hope before. I am mainly looking for a way to backup everything without being rooted. It used to work with Smart Switch but not lately. It's the app data that i want the most to back up.
