Razr Wont boot - Motorola Droid RAZR

Just got my cousin's razr Maxx and i will not get past the boot screen. Tried to factory reset it via the stock recovery but no luck. Also have no idea which version of android it's on, but if anyone could help me get a custom recovery on here so I can try flashing a rom i'd really appreciate it.

[Q] Bricked photon?? Help me get it back, please?

I cant get it to boot in recovery(CWM) It comes up a big list of RSD BP Tools all that in a single page in white text when i try to enter recovery or any mode. And i cant get the RSD Lite drivers to install!! I already have used RSD lite 2 days ago with my phone. I managed to get phone into RSD mode once but it still wouldnt show up under the actual RSD Lite program, and it came up saying it failed to install drivers. It fails to install the driver "NS Flash Sunfire" and ive looked around and cant seem to find it anywhere.. I can get the phone into RSD mode fine, but it wont boot to CWM recovery, apparently something went AWOL. Tell me how i can get my photon back please?!
try removing all your motorola drivers and reinstalling them from yay 4 juggs link. you should be able to flash the sbf from his thread (in rsd mode) and be back in business.
Didnt even think of that.. i already had the 5.21 drivers installed, but sure enough did what you said and im flashing back to stock sbf right now. THANK YOU!
OK, so i just flashed 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US and now im stuck in a bootloop of the dual core screen.. Any ideas..? I know its not latest SBF, but the link for latest was dead.. So i just used this one i had on my desktop already. Anything im missing here?
EDIT: Oh yeah, the flash went through fine and said completed, and when i boot into recovery its back to stock recovery of android triangle and my bootloader menu system is how it should be again. Im just stuck in a boot loop.. Can i go ahead and like unlock bootloader and install CWM and get back on CM7 or will i most likely still be in a bootloop even after that..? Any insight would be great

you may need to factory wipe to get it to boot up... are you stuck on the dual core or the sprint now screen? it may be a bad flash as well - did it reboot by itself and such?
Im at the Dual core screen, i reflashed same sbf and its still doing same thing. ONE time it boot through the sprint now boot logo stuff, then just fell back into same old loop of just the dual core boot animation/screen. How can i factory reset it..? It rebooted right after it installed(never successfully into OS though) then RSDLite told me to manually power up phone, so i battery pulled and powered up to just have it go into moto dual core boot screen loop
Ok sweet i just unlocked bootloader and installed CWM and was able to restore to my CM7 backup fine! Im not activated atm, going to have to call sprint i guess.. But everything else looks to be working!!

Custom Recovery (CWM) Problem

Hi, I've been having problems with CWM.
I was trying to install a custom rom, but I can't get the custom recovery to work...
I've tried RAZR Bootstrap Recovery, bootmenu manager, and Rom Manager.
With Bootstrap Recovery the screen goes Black and stays black forever.
With the other two, the phone just restarts without going to CWM...
I have already formated the phone every way possible (I think), but everytime I try to install a Custom Rcovery, I always fail
I have ICS (676.226.3.en.EU) on my RAZR (XT910), and root...
Someone told me about the preinstall folder, but I didn't understand.
I'm sorry, but I'm used to Samsung, and the RAZR is way more difficult to customize...
Thanks in advance :good:

Similar problem but with stock GB rom (2.3.6)

Hi guys,
I have problem like this on my stock GB rom (RAZR XT-910 - 2.3.6).
After rooting and installing Razr Touch Bootstrap, device rebooted into recovery but screen is VERY dark (I can see the logo and some text over logo).
Also software appears to be functional - just tried randomly touch the screen in region where the "menu" should be and entered one of the option and screen was OK, but I don't want wipe everything accidentally .
I saw number of people had same problem with different phones on old Recovery versions but no normal solution.
Thanks for your help.

Safestrap removed now cannot boot into stock recovery

Hey guys Im trying to get my rooted and ROM'ed ME7 Galaxy S4 back to barebone stock as Im trying to sell the phone.
What things have I done to my phone?
Ive rooted my ME7 S4 and then loaed Safestrap recovery and installed a custom rom on slot 1
Now in the process of trying to get my phone back to stock I did a wipe from safestrap on the stock rom slot which reset the stock rom I then booted from the stock rom n downloaded safestrap and was able to uninstal safestrap so now my phone boot up to a fresh clean s4 without any safestrap recovery splash screen
however my problem is in order to sell my phone I have to be able to do a reset from the settings then accounts tab and backup and reset button
however when I do this the phone reboots and has the Could not do normal boot error odin mode
I assume since I removed the safestrap recovery there is no recovery software at all now?
Can anyone tell me how I can get stock recovery back onto my phone and heres the kicker if at all possible to do so without the use of a PC as I currently dont have access to one but if thats the only way still pkease let me know how I can get stock recovery back
Also im not really concern with unrooting the phone as long as I can get back into the stock recovery. Also if anyone is wondering yes I can install safestrap again and it will boot up like how I had my rooted n rom setup
I just need to get my stock recovery back so I can do factory data resets using the stock recovery n not the wipe method from safestrap recovery
thanks for any help

If you're going to sell it, plug it in to your PC and run the Verizon Recovery Assistant. It'll wipe and reinstall for you.
