I had a ROM then it had a new version so I downloaded the new version then I flashed it and I didn't like it.
So I installed the older one again and now it's stuck on the Samsung logo when it turns on it was like that for 11 hours.
And the only way I can fix it is go to recovery and install back to the newer version...
How can I get back to the old version?
Only was is if you made a nandroid back up of the old rom
Or start from scratch again

When it bootloops go into recovery and factory reset and reboot. That should bring you out of it but if it don't then format data and cache in mounts and storage and wipe dalvik cache in advanced. If that don't work still then format data, system and cache then Reflash the rom and reboot. One of them should bring you out of a bootloop

Hi,
I just flash the Rom Batista70 3.6, after flashed, I found that it is not the ROM I want, so I flashed my S2 to other ROM. However, The boot logo have been changed to "Batista70" and I am unable to restore it to original one, can someone show me how can I change the bootup logo back to the original?
Ir you flashed vía cwm then you will have a copy of the old Rom on your internal SD card.wipe it.then do a full wipe again and factory reset from recovery and re-install the new Rom.once done don't forget to wipe stats.
Do a full wipe before doing anything (flashing ROM, restoring backup and so on), and trust me, you will forget half of problems that you're experiencing now. I always see here people complaining here on that or that and most of these problems can be solved by doing full wipe (cache, data, system, Dalvik cache)
I already wipe everything before flash MIUI1.8.12, seems the previous rom replace default logo files that other roms seldom replace

Today i found my phone very slow and internal memory almost full with nothing really installed.
I decided to flash DDKQ5 (Indian Firmware). When i used Odin and flashed my device. All the process went through fine. Odin showed Green (pass) but when i checked my phone it wasnt flashed. I could see the old apps and contacts still. Where am i going wrong?
And yea i am flashing DDKQ5 over DDKQ5
Do
Wipe cache,
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe dalvik cache
from recovery and reboot.
Hope it solves ur problem.
Install clockwork mod.

I had ICS.. backed with titanium and upgraded to JB with Liquidsmooth's rom... however I failed to read that titanium backedup contacts couldn't restore from ICS to JB... after reinstalling Liquidsmooth I thought the error might be with the ROM so I installed Omega's JB rom... nice bootscreen... pity it stayed in a bootloop... I then reinstalled it from cwm after removing the battery (a few times) and getting into recovery.... however it remained the same...
so.. I get into odin.. PDA -> ChainFire's "CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5.tar" worried that all I've don'e is put a ics kernal into a JB rom... I boot into recovery and install an old (possibly original root) ROM... now it boots past the animated logo just stays on the static -Samsung- logo... I can boot into odin.. not tried to boot into recovery...
but I don't have a recovery rom... (I have searched)...
could someone point me in the right direction please
Thanks
Have you tried wiping cache and dalvik, maybe try factory reset.
If all that fails this is what I do:
Boot into recovery
Go to mounts and storage
Format cache, System, data and internal sd card. (of course you will lose all data)
Then flash a full stock firmware package through Odin.
Done

I found a stock 4.04 (ICS) rom... still soft bricked... I'll wipe everything except internal SD card... see if that works.. else guess I got no other option :s... I am pretty much backed up so I'm not completely fussed.. but I know there will be something that was missed...
didn't have to do a full wipe... but when I power-off it still reboots... I have to remove battery to power off?
Just do a wipe from Recovery, often the problem then not.
can anyone help me/ suggest to me what i should do...
I'm on Android Revolution HD v18.. and today i flash v19, 1st without wipe.. successful.. then its stuck at samsung logo...
i tried flashing it with full wipe, wipe calche, still the same happened, stuck at samsung logo...
Try a different custom rom. Or redownload the rom you're trying to flash and see of that makes any difference

Wiping
Most cases Full Wipe is enogh if stuck on Loop then Wipe cache, if that's also does not work Wipe Dalvik cache maybe will help. If nothing works redownload the Rom and try again (this is only if you really really want this rom ) But if all of this doesn't work either the Rom is crappy or in some way not compatible with your device. --> Go restore your Backup ( KIDS ALWAYS USE PROTECTION :highfive: (in this case PROTECTION = BACKUP )
Been using twrp since rooting note II. I wanted to try out 4.4 PA but they said to only use cwm. It was late so I decided to be lazy and since I used to use rom manager all the time I installed it to flash cwm recovery then booted into recovery to install touch version. It wasn't showing the touch version so selected to restart to check to see where I saved it to it would not boot past the first "note II" splash screen. Battery pull then back into recovery and went ahead and flashed PA 4.4 and now it will get past the splash screen then shows boot animation but then starts all over.
Is this a rom manager issue?
can I flash twrp from within cwm recovery?
will I have to basically reroot it?
Any suggestions on how to get back to twrp and to a usable phone?
thanks
If you download a .zip of twrp and flash it you will have twrp for your recovery.
As long as you flash a rooted rom, you will be rooted.
Not sure what happened with the boot loop, did you by chance wipe the system without flashing another before booting?

Nope did my standard wipe cache, wipe dalvik, and factory reset then flashed rom then gapps. Going to go back to twrp and wait for 4.4 to be more stable before I try it out again and maybe then I can use twrp to flash it.
thanks for the help

Have you wiped data at all? You need to wipe data / factory reset when switching roms, and it sounds like you havent.

As stated above, on both cwm and twrp I wiped caches and did factory reset and still having the issues. Once back on twrp I even formatted internal memory thinking maybe rom manager messed something up on it and still can't get passed the splash screen.

Copy a ROM to your SD card (external not internal)
Install cwm and format data (actually full format, where /data/media gets wiped) and system
Install rom
Reboot
TWRP has some issues randomly with corrupting /data, that's why I no longer use it.

Finally got it. Thought using odin to flash back to root 66 and start fresh would work but after that it was still going to the splash screen then black and a battery pull had to be done. TWRP back ups would fail when trying to restore, so I reverted back to an older version of twrp and it finally let a back up be installed and it booted up just fine!!
thanks for all the suggestions
Im having a similar problem to yours, I am using twrp and flashed PA 3.99 the phone works great, but if my battery dies or i restart the phone or shut it down it automatically wont get passed the samsung logo, or sometimes the PA logo, the only work arounds ive seen to it is to wipe the cache and dalvik to boot, but when that fails i have to install the whole rom over again. any ideas?
