Slow Bluetooth Tether and Possible Fix. - HTC Amaze 4G

My bluetooth tether qot quickly progressively slower, so that for a day or two it was just dribbling my data, and also when tethered the bluetooth controllers for playing music, etc., on the Windows 7 PC side wouldn't launch when connected. Also, when I did enable the phone to tether, and clicked the "Connect Using->Access Point" on the computer, the "Connection Successful" notification took several seconds to confirm the connection.
To fix, I did the following:
Removed my bluetooth radio device from PC device manager and reinstalled it.
Fixed permissions in phone's recovery.
Cleared Data of Bluetooth Share app on phone.
Turned bluetooth on to access settings and unpaired the phone from the computer.
Removed the Amaze device from "Show Bluetooth Devices"
Made the devices discoverable and re-paired.
Bluetooth tether is now running at the speed it should, the controllers show up, and the "Connection Successful" notification is immediate.
I don't know which of the aforementioned steps were the critical ones, so listed them all, as they're very simple--for example, it may simply require un-pairing and re-pairing the devices. Dunno. If they go bad again, I'll try that first.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Keep wifi awake during standby?

I tried to enable this feature in KaiserTweak and although it says the wifi is still on, it often cuts out and then does not function properly until I do a soft reset. Does anyone have a solution for keeping the wifi on during standby that works a little better?
Thanks!
DCD3.2.2
Radio 3.42.02
Pocket Toolman has that feature and it works.
I tried it and it appeared to be working for awhile but I've noticed that if I press the power button to put the phone into the standby when I resume the wifi says it is still connected but is in fact no longer functioning. All my internet-enabled applications disconnect and the browser doesn't work. Even when I move out of range of my access point the same access points remain in the available networks list. If I turn my wifi on and off and try to connect to another access point it never connects and an error pops up saying so. The wifi doesn't work until I do a soft reset.
If I do NOT enable the option to keep wifi active during sleep then all my internet-enabled apps disconnect when the phone is put in standby but the wifi continues to work properly when I resume the phone from standby...
I am running phoneAlarm. Could this cause some issues with it?
My current profile is set as "Do not change" for wifi though so I wouldn't think it would cause any issues...

Tethering issues please help.

Ok so heres my dilemma. I figured I would test out tethering and see what my speeds are. So I connected my TP to my computer and selected the "Tethering" option when it showed up on my phone and thought, ok this should be easy. It connected to my computer, so i disabled my current wireless connection thinking my phones connection would automatically take over. But i was wrong, as a matter of fact nothing happened. When i checked my network settings, it told me i was connected with limited or no internet. Huh? Really? did i do something wrong? When you select tethering from the popup screen does it automatically run the Internet Sharing app?
So now i tried unplugging and replugging my phone back in and now that little popup screen doesnt even show up. Activesync doesnt connect, but i figured you couldnt run activesync and tethering at the same time. But now even worse is when i go to the Internet Sharing app and hit connect, it doesnt connect, it just says "Check usb Cable". As im doing all of this i have network connections up on my computer, watching to see if anything changes. So here i am in the internet sharing app and i hit connect, it says check usb cable, so i hit disconnect and right when i hit disconnect, it shows that im connected on my pc. ????? But even still when i try to surf the web it doesnt work. IDK what i/i'm did/doing wrong.
I like the popup screen when i connect my device to pc and would like to get that back if possible. Can someone please shed some light on 1.How to Tether 2. How to get the popup screen back (even though in all settings->connections->usb to pc->"ask about connection type when i connect" IS checked)
Tried a soft reset to see if that would change anything, but nothing changed.
Unplug your connections to your computer.
don't disable them.
If it is wireless, turn it off, don't disable.
I cannot share my connection while plugged into the network.

Lets break this down a little bit. First of all who is your carrier? Also, do you have the tethering option on your plan? (not that its completely necessary)
From there we can figure out the next step.
tethering
what about PDANET? I used it on my 6700.

Here you go. Install both cabs, reset the device, and go into Programs and start ICSShrUi. You'll be able to tether no problem. Ive been doing so I received my Verizon TP on Tuesday.

[Q] WiFi router on XP netbook not working

Hi!
I recently began using a netbook with Win XP on it and sadly it cannot connect to my HD2 set up as WiFi router. I can select it from the wireless networks list, it shows that it is an ad hoc network and asks for a key - but when I hit connect... the progressbar keeps running and running until I abort the attempt.
XP has all the latest updates, I updated the wireless driver to the latest, I tried it with disabled firewall... I even pre set the network manually (computer to computer, WEP and Key) nothing helps.
At the same time a Vista laptop can connect to the HD2 router just fine.
Any ideas? I'm out of them... And frankly I'm already sick of connecting my devices via cable to get online when my HD2 has this nice and otherwise working feature.
Solved... in a way.
When I activate the option in Wifi-settings that forces my computer to only connect to computer to computer networks it works fine. Maybe the connection to the HD2 takes too long to be established or the importance ranking of available regular WiFi networks is too high in the default settings.
But it is quite bothersome to change this setting everytime I want to change the connection type from computer to computer over to regular and vice versa. Does anyone know a way to nullify the network preference without blocking either of network types from being used?
This is how it is now:
When it is set to accept only computer to computer networks I can use my HD2 as WiFi hotspot but am blocked from using any regular hotspot and get a windows error message when I try so.
When I set it to allow all network types and try to connect to my HD2 I get stuck with a connecting messagebox with an ever ongoing progress bar - but I get no error message.
When a known regular network is in range Windows even connects with that, although the connection attempt messagebox is still there. Doesn't make any difference though if a known network is in reach or not. It doesn't connect to my HD2 either way.
I just want it to work without having to make adjustments every time
It is a huge security risk to do this but look here and check the "Connect to any" box.
That's exactly what I did... See above.
But thanks for the lookup!

[Q] Auto Bluetooth

Can anyone recommend me a FREE app that will automatically enable bluetooth when wifi disconnects and disable it when wifi reconnects.
Both me and my wife have bluetooth enabled phones, mine is a htc desire and hers is an X10 Mini
Our bluetooth kit in the car does not support multipoint so only one phone can connect at a time.
If either of us is by ourselves this is fine but when we are both in the car together its a crap shoot on which phone will connect.
manually checking bluetooth every time we get in the car is a pain in the butt and given the fact that I always drive when we are together I want to install an app to turn on her BT when her WIFI disconnects.
This solves the problem because if we are together my phone has already connected long before her BT ever gets enabled.
Have you tried "Setting Profiles". I can't remember what the free version does but certainly the paid for version (which isn't very much) enables you to do a whole lot of setting rules which would enable you to do exactly what you are wanting.
Give it a try. I've got some complex rules which detect cell locations and then trigger the enabling of WiFi when I get close to home and then when the WiFi is on another rule sets some other bits when I connect to my home WiFi.
Triggers can be, GPS location, Cell location, WiFi networks connected/disconnected, time of day, bluetooth connection etc. Very useful app. Good for power saving as well. (I've got a HTC Desire S but it should work on your phones as well).

Data connection not working when connected to wifi

Hi all,
i've got this big problem and i dunno how to solve it.
Stock rom, MIUI 12.0.3, no root, developer options active.
I ran into this annoying bug months ago, while trying to get my car's android auto working with my phone without using usb cable.
I managed to connect my Mi 8 lite with the car via wifi connection; made it enabling Android Auto developer options (otherwise it wolud let me connect only with cable). Unfortunately once connected everything doesn't work, because there is no data: while wifi is on AND connected, my phone doesn't "want" to use my mobile data, even if i force data use by setting "mobile data always on" option in developer options.
I noticed this is not a problem of my car's infotainmnet, infact it happens also if i connect my phone to my wifi network unplugging phone's line cable (and so internet data ) from my router. Also in this case, with phone mobile data always active, my phone will stay connected to my wifi (which has no internet) and won't use my mobile data.
Does anyone have any idea/suggestion or know what i'm doing wrong?
Thx in advance for reading
This topic is discussed here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...iui-while-aa-is-connected-wirelessly.4252187/
But no widely working workaround yet.
