Hi everybody,
I'm new in this forum and decided to read all information to upgrade my Xperia Neo HD (MT15i) to the last Android ICS 4.0.4; after several days reading about rooting, unlocking bootloaders, custom ROMs and so on, I thouht I wasn't too confident to root my mobile, so I decided to upgrade to an offcial Sony release. I follow some step-by-step instructions found at SonyMobile forums and everything was APPARENTLY ok.
I restored my backup, my contacts and everything was faster than before (before upgrading I used Android 2.3.4) EXCEPT FOR wifi connection: each time I enable wifi to connect to my router, the wifi connection restarts forever in a loop. The sympthoms are:
* I type the WPA2 password in my mobile (the router is using WPA2-PSK TKIP, but I doesn't work in AES either)
* The mobile begins connecting but it stops at getting new IP address
* The connection process resumes and starts over
* Sometimes, after not getting a IP, it stops and says: "Error autenticating"
I read Android 4.0.2 had this problem with wifi, but it was solved in 4.0.4.
Is there any solutions to this problem? I prefer installing an Sony's official firmware since I don't feel confident yet about all the process in rooting and/or unlocking the mobile.
Kind regards!

Ok, I reply to myself: the WPA2 passphrase must be 8 * n characters length! My old passphrase was 25 characters long and it always worked in two laptops, one Wii, one iPad, one iPhone, one Minix NeoX7 android PC and my Xperia Neo. But after upgrading Xperia Neo to Android 4.0.4, I have had to change the passphrase to 16 length long in order for the Xperia to connect to the WiFi. I have checked if it works with 8 and 24 characters long passphrase and indeed it works.
I also configured WPA2 as an "Open Authentication System".
Hope this help to somebody.

HI
I've rootedmy phone (HTC Desire HD) to android 2.3.5 and I've installed cyanogenMod7 from it's nightly build repository: "cm_ace_full-200.zip".
my full cyanogen mod is: "CyanogenMod-7-09192011-NIGHTLY-DesireHD"
It's so powerful ROM and almost every thing works Okay but I have a problem with it.
my phone can't connect to vpn server!
(I've tried several up-time VPN servers and those can connect through PC! but in my phone just says: "server hang up.The username or password you entered could be incorrect.Do you want to try again?")
What can I do for connecting to VPN server?
I have Sony xperia mini!
Installed the latest version 4.0.4 4.1.B.0.587 with PC Companion.
And... then the problems start.
I have a wireless router at home and used WPA-PSK security encription.
Before update, everything worked, but now...
phone connects but does not work as it should be!
Example:
In Play Store app update or search don't work, (on-line) games don't work, some app (requiring internet) don't work...
Then i turn off security encryption on router and everyting works perfectly.
Then I tried other security (WEP and WPA2-PSK), but the same symptoms as when I used WPA-PSK.
I must to use security encryption on router... Is there a solution for mobile?
hey guys
i've update my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman to Android 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.587) using Sony PC Companion
After the update, I attempted to root my phone by using this Guide: talk.sonymobile.com/thread/41119
the phone was rooted successfully but now i have a serious problem. i cant connect to my router using WiFi. i've searched in google and find some Apps and some solution (in xda and other forums) to solve my problem but the problem still not resolved
i've used following Apps:
WiFi Manager
FXR WiFi fix and rescue
i'm also restart my router and check other routers but just one of them was worked and i can connect correctly
please help me to solve this problem
sry for this post but Up!
I have an Ifive Mini 3GS Tablet. When I got it I could connect to my Wifi without any problems.
Now, after doing an update I can't connect anymore (I didn't change anything to my home network).
I tried flashing another firmware, but that doesn't fix it.
When I try to connect I put in my password and then i keeps saying: "Authenticating"
What I tried sofar:
- Flash another firmware
- Factory Reset
- Change the channel on the router
- Change the security on the router
- Change the SSID
Please note; All my other devices (smartphones, laptop, other tablet) don't have any problem what so ever to connect.
Strange thing; When I use my Sony Xperia Z1 as a hotspot I can connect without any problem (When having set security to off).
When i disable security on my router, I can't connect.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hi Guys
I received my Android 4.2.2 Mstar Cedric3 DVD GPS Radio with MCU Version 4.3.12.11-10-454101-150309 and system version 2.7.39 two days ago. It is also sold as ST 8713C by LSQStar
I tried to install TOMTOM on the unit but after installation I end up on a start screen with a MAP location that does not reflect my actual location. I have since tried to root my device but only succeeded to mess up the Wi-Fi connectivity which now is looping with "Obtaining IP Address". It had been working fine prior to my rooting efforts with root master. I had tried a static IP address which does not connect but browsing is still not possible.
Anyway my thinking is to re-install the firmware but I cannot find it anywhere after many hours of checking. I would appreciate some assistance with this.
Secondly can someone guide me on how to successfully install TomTom on the above device so that the program actually communicates with the built in GPS device.
Have you succeeded on this ?? I have same problem!
Thank you!
Roberto
