(Q) changing DPI - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I'm on stock firmware MJ7 rooted and want to change my dpi settings. I've done this before on various roms, but want to ask what app should I use and is it safe?
Just don't want to end up in a bootloop or something so any help would be appreciated.

Just install xposed framework and download the dpi mod in xposed download tab.

Alright I have xposed too so I'll try that, I just wanted to check on here and see what people were using.
My last phone I had issues with doing this and since I'm not running a custom recovery or anything, I wanted to be sure first. Thanks though I'll give that a try.

The one on xposed is per app dpi. Which is still cool, but I was looking for setting the system itself. Wish I didn't have this jacked up bootloader so I could just run paranoid Android or another rom and I'd have all these options built in. This is the first time I've run xposed on a phone and first time looking into an app or module for dpi settings so... I'll search and see what else I can find. Again just want to do it safely. I know I could just grab some app and hope for the best but wanted some feedback first that's all.

That does work. You have to do a reboot then it looks good. .All except the keyboard. It's huge. So I apparently I'll have to fiddle with swiftkeys dpi settings to see if I can scale it down to look normal. Not sure why the keyboard didn't take the settings like everything else did after I changed "Android system"
Also. .. Samsung keyboard looked the same. .huuuge

Well I use nova and for now I just changed novas dpi and get the same results and my keyboard is all good too. Maybe I was just overlooking something but I tried changing both Samsung and SwiftKey dpi settings after I did Android system and nothing seemed to help, either to big or way too small.
For now this works.

Good deal, I'm pretty sure there are other mods out there that'll change the dpi also. Might want to try them out.

I know I'm way late at responding here. But what dpi do you personally use? I remeber on my note 2 I would use 160 to 175 but It had a bigger screen.

Ist hopefully you made a backup prior to changing your settings, if so just restore your backup and you'll be fine. Also whatever you used to change it with will sometimes backup your original setting and you can use the same process to revert.

Are you in AOKP or using xposed?

Well sorry to say but you're best option at this point is to flash another rom or the same either way your options are slim.

Yep I think that's what I'll do... I'm looking for a change.... Any suggestions for a new rom...It has to work for twrp

Cleanrom ACE if you like touchwiz fast and smooth but if you have no taste for that and want to go pure aosp then I wouldn't have a good suggestion as I like all the extras I got the phone for, but that's just my opinion. There are other great roms out there and im sure someone will give you more options, good luck.

Can you increase the size (i.e quality) of MMS

I was just wondering if it is event possible to mod or tweak a setting to allow a larger size MMS go through, so a picture actually will look decent on the receipents screen?
Nottach. For xposed.

Phone/Dialer force close

I couldn't find any other threads on this subject. Every time I try to access the keyboard in the middle of a phone call it forces closes and drops the call, the device usually freezes so I have to do a battery pull to fix. I'm on MDK stock ROM. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Better to start soft before you go hard at the problem. If you dont have much on your phone and you dont mind it getting erased I would try a factory reset to see if that solves the problem, though im doubting it will. Have you tried a different keyboard to see if the problem lies with that specific keyboard?

Did you mess with/mod anything related to secphone.apk (dialer, theming dialer or phone app) or anything at all related to contacts or messaging? What keyboard are you using? Hexitnow's advice is your best bet. In case that doesn't work you could go extract the mdk secphone seccontacts and secmms apks from a stock mdk rom and either push them to system or flash a zip containing them. Only try these if you have a custom recovery though and you should make a backup in case anything should go wrong.

Xposed App Settings & keyboards

I was wondering if anyone knows of any work around to get the keyboard scaled right. I have everything apps and all dpi set to 370. That seems to be a sweet spot. The only problem I'm having is the keyboard. I'm stock rooted. Here is a screen shot. Currently I'm writing everything outwith my S-pen.
Maybe because I'm using the xda app I can't see the picture, but you did post a picture correct?

Are you sure the Sony UI is fully supported by Xtheme? I don't use it myself, so this is only a question.

I dont have this particular problem but rather to getting it to work.. sometimes I just give up and one day all the sudden the xposed framework is activated. It started to work last week on my device after just having it installed for a month.
Before this happened on my One X too.

Strange that it's intermittent. Have you tried to just use one module at a time to see if there's any conflicts?
