Hi guys I realized that there is no thread for xperia U users answering queries regarding the CM11 Builds. So people have been spamming the Development forum, So i am Starting this thread for all those people who are facing issues in the CM11. Feel free to ask anything.
I have a query as well:
the wifi settings are giving me troubles as it doesn't seem to remember the Network i am connected to, i always have to enter the password and IP settings for the network i am connected to.
I've a Sola, but one question, you can play videos in Xperia U?

If what you are asking is whether you can play videos on the CM11 build. Then the answer is NO... The developers are planning to come up with a fix for that by Christmas, So till then there is no Video Playback.
Christmas, wow, so much time.
My issues with CM11 for Xperia U
Since I am not allowed to post in the dev forum I'm going to do it here (thanks karanvir90!)
Apart from Bluetooth not working (any info on when it will be fixed?) I noticed a 3G connection a bit weak (constantly coming and going); and when I send SMS the message is always sent at least twice (up to 18 times, even!)
Anyone else experiencing these issues?
i also have list of bugs

About SMS: after checking I thought so too, but then someone reported receiving the same SMS 18 times from my phone!
Wifi: doesn't turn off for me, don't know about password lost because I haven't tried; same about daydream
Music player is OK for me
I also have to add to my report some occasional crashes here and there, not limited to one app in particular as I recall

Guys I had been testing the December 1st build and I couldn't get to grips with the kind of bugs it kept coming up with each passing day... Agreed it is unstable (Understatement). But the Devs are working their asses off for a stable build going through Logcats. I am not sure when you can expect the next build for 4.4 as all of the devs are having issues getting it to XU. Chameleon 4.4 was also being ported from Sola but the project has gone off the rail. So till then i can only ask you to be patient and if you need an everyday working XU then shift to any of the Lower Roms. Personally i have been using the CM 10 Linaro Limited Edition JB.

For me, comming form a stock 4.0 rom the battery life has improved quite a lot. My xperia U on CM11 just manages to get me through the day without having to charge it. I am connected to a wifi network almost constantly and I use whatsapp regularly. My birghtness is on automatic and i have disabled screen rotation.
Hope this gives you an idiea of what you can expect from the battery. It won't manage to keep up with heavy use, but for an average user it will manage.

I don!t think you can!
App developers are still working on porting apps to work on ART (like Whatsapp).
However you can flash gapps that are supported on ART. The latest gapps in the development thread should be compatible with ART.

I am using cm 10.1 legacy xperia nightly build 20130722 along with naa kernel v3.4.53 that came with the rom on my live with Walkman.....
and I have a big battery drain issue on my phone. In 1 and a half hour my battery reduces by almost 10% that too with only some normal usage like listening music etc...it cant be because of the apps since I haven't installed any apps yet other than gmail and hangouts. Other than this all the other features are working perfectly well and I love this rom....but if the battery keeps on draining like this I will have to change the rom...PLSS HELP ME..
also I read somewhere that the battery drain is due to kernel and not the rom...so should I chnge the kernel or is there any other fix for it..
I would have posted in the developer forum but since I am new to the forum I am not allowed to post there...
thnxx in advance:good:
Try to freshly install the rom. Or just install your previous Rom that worked for you the best.
Well...I'll try reinstalling the rom but I want to know what is causing this problem is it the rom or kernel..

thats because of wakelock bro, you can minimise it by reducing brightness, sleep at minimum(15sec)
if possible try to manually lock device it it wakes up
But I always keep the brightness to 50% and my phone does sleep after 15 sec of inactivity

Is your GPS activated? Just tap the usage graph to show more details.
I experience battery drain on that rom if GPS is activated once. Altough the phone says it's turned of, it still consumes a lot of battery power.

thats nothing new ... on this rom (all JB roms bcuz our devices arent maked for it and it still needs some big development here... )
but here some tips which i get more battery (i use JV-EX which is based on LX..)
- deactivate sync, gps,bt,rotation and activate only if u need them!
- i use gpu rendering in development settings - gives some battery..
- delete all useless (only if u know which app this is) apps in system/app (fast-dormancy.apk is a wakeclock from sony media apps from iiandskater.. )
- use the apps 'greenify' & 'disable service' to disable useless stuuf / wakeups at least u can also disaple some apps in settings to avoid them to start & wasting ur ram....
- NO OVERCLOCK !
- do some build prop tweaks! (from thread) helps also a bit..
-some (my) values in advanced performance setting's min/max centisecs = 500 ; i set dirty ratio to 20.. also ondemand semms to be the battery friendly cpu governor
hope it helps

It is a wakelock, because it keeps an eye on the data connection - keeps tracking, how much of the bandwidth is used. If less is used, power consumption is decreased for longer battery life.

The states, which were mentioned in the forum, which I linked to, apply to 3G/HSPA connection only.
It is not necessary for media apps, though it can guarantee continuous broadcasting (and make sure video/song gets loaded fast) and changes state when data connection is not necessary, in order to save battery.

Similar issue here.
I've Flashed CM 10.2 Legacy Xperia NIGHTLY along with the included Kernel (3.4.59-nAa) and some core Gapps couple days ago, and now i'm experiencing some heavy battery drain (Even with mobile data, wifi, gps off). Battery stats show, that most of the drain comes from Google Services.
The phone was going 100 to 0 in two to three days, now it lasts 6-7 hrs with almost no phone usage.
Any ideas what can be done?
Nevertheless, Thnx to all the guys working on this project - I like this ROM a lot. Everything seems to be working fine. :good:
EDIT:
Well, seems like I was looking for a solution in the wrong place and with the wrong keywords. After some time researching forum, i found out, that the drain is caused by some location service within Google Services, and the work around this bug is to switch WiFi location in google settings, and in google maps. For more information just search forum for "Google Services battery drain".
FAQ:
1. When will the bugs be fixed?
-- We are trying our best to fix the bugs present and we hope to do so ASAP.
2. How often will you provide updates?
-- I'll try to provide as soon as possible but due to studies the updates may take some time
3. How can I help you?
-- Try to post more of logcats of errors and submit patches If you really like it consider donating TeamBlueRidge( @kalaker @insink71 @simonsimons34 )(check my signature) as they supported me a lot for this.
4. Which gApps to use?
-- I recommend these- http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2012857
5. Why is the proximity sensor on all the time?
-- Its a feature of carbon known as pocket mode. It doesn't take much battery but still if you want you can turn it off by going to Settings->Carbon Fibres->Lock Screen-> Notifications and uncheck pocket mode.
6. How to access developer options?
-- Go to About Phone in settings and tap Build Number 8-10 times.
7. Why is this feature of Carbon Fibers not working?
-- Carbon fibers are still being ported to 4.4 so may not work properly.
8. Is HALO present in the ROM?
-- Not for now but its being ported to it

Hi!
My solution is I installed the Walkman mod to the rom but the sound is being hell laggy and strange for a second when I press anything except the physical buttons and swiping.
It was something like when in an older cyanogenmod 11 you locked the screen and the sound became the same laggy.
In cm11 there isnt any problems like this for now.
The carbon rom work just almost perfect for me but I noticed for the game GTA vice city and sand andrea are fc.

There's no battery drain for me. How do you know it's the web browser?
If you're really sure it's the webbrowser, you can always disable the APK for a while and see if it's really that what's draining the battery.
I also highly recommend you to disable location services, because maybe it's the browser just searching for your location and then passing it to the website you're currently viewing.

Thanks for the really good ROM. Liked it a lot, using for the past week on ART without any issues. :victory:
Just a quick question tho, would it be possible to port a keyboard that supports T9/keypad mode? Don't mind if its a flashable ZIP as well.
Just one issue so far: the application Llama doesn't seem to always get root privileges in time (even though I've added it to the list of super-user apps under Settings). Any idea what might be wrong?

Hi,
Hopefully I am writing in the correct place about my issue.
I have the Xperia Z2, rooted, bootloader unlocked, CWM recovery.
I flashed the Unofficial PAC ROM by "rcstar6696" and it works fine with tons of features, my problem is that the phone would not lock securely.
I tried to use PIN, Pattern, Gesture locks and they all do not function, the phone will still unlock with slide.
I tried to reset the phone, same thing. I looked all over the forums and could not find anything about this with Z2.
My friend owns a Nexus 5 and I rooted and flashed PAC ROM onto his phone and the Pattern lock works like a charm.
Is anyone facing the same issue? Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks.
EDIT: I have flashed the latest version from 20th of September cleanly and still facing the same issue.
EDIT: after a few resets and wipes, I noticed that when installing/uninstalling apps. The lock chosen works for a limited time (Usually 6 hours) and then stops randomly.
I am still trying to identify if it's an app causing this.
EDIT: ISSUE SOLVED !!
I reset the device one more time with a clean boot, then while setting it up, I did not connect to my google account. I skipped most of the steps, then set the lock screen, rebooted, added my google account manually.
and VOILA ! phone securely locked.
I do not know how my google account caused this, but it seems to be the reason at the moment.

Xposed would cause it, or any mods or tweeaks because pac is framework sensitive which means even simple mods can cause huge issues

Yes of course, but I just flashed it cleanly and no apps whatsoever (except GApps & Stock) , and still the issue is the same.
I even did not change any of the ROM built-in settings and still, no secure locking.
Oh and trust me, PAC ROM is amazing (if it wasn't for this issue) , made me hate every minute I spent in CM and TouchWiz (on my old S4) :good:
Did you do a complete wipe? I wiped all partitions including media before installing pac.
And yes pac is excellent and perfectly stable, only issues I have is nav bar dpi seems to reset after every reboot, but if I toggle say screen timeout via quick settings it changed to what it should be and active display reboots my phone but I don't use it anyway

I'm not sure how to do that, however, I managed to solve it.
And I am facing the same with nav bar and the PACperformance app, it just doesn't stick after reboot.
EDIT: actually, I just tried a few reboots, the nav bar seems to be fine to me, I did however change the icons via "Android L Navigation Bar" found in the xposed downloads. Maybe that caused it to "stick"?
as for the active display, I would like to use it, but I am a pixel maniac, and that feature isn't FHD yet I guess, so I am not using it either for the moment.

Hello Everybody,
I start this thread to discuss the ROM CM12 released for our Z7 Mini by TDBeta Forum, I hope we can discuss the bugs found, and may be optimize the rom to be ready for daily usage.
I start with the main bug that I had, impossible to save videos recorded using either stock Camer or alternative applications in Play Store.
I think that the OnePlus One had this same problem in the first versions of CM12, and now it's solved, also it has the same camera sensor as our model: Sony IMX214, so do you think we can solve this problem by porting some libraries from its version?

Apparently there is a problem with changing keyboard from notification icon, and to solve it needs flashing the patch from this thread: http://www.tdbeta.cn/thread-230279-1-1.html
but this patch changes the Settings.apk, and it's not fully translated, and the problem of changing keyboard is not a big problem.

1. repair telecommunications card access to the Internet, no need to manually set
2. repair video playback issues
3. CM code update, add boot wizard, and new boot animation

well maybe, but i guess that as long as we receive some rom build by some chinese guys who don't share their source .... it will be complicated to improve their work
I agree with you, but if the problems in the current version are caused by the kernel, do you think we can try to port the kernel from another device having CM12?
I'm thinking about OnePlus One, as it's having similar hardware.
May be we can start with this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/orig-development/kernel-ak-t2832168
I found also this repo in GitHub: https://github.com/syhost/android_kernel_zte_msm8974
Can anyone provide a somewhat more english downloadlink? Everything i try downloads this BaiduGuanja application...

I found 3G and 3,5G (H+) working until now. Will test 4G later today.
Still need to fiddle a little more, but it seems usable enough

For the moment only Video recording is not working
Face unlock is working

I have the same problem, also the settings of network mode are not correct, when I try to set it to GSM only for example, it shows LTE!!!
But this is not a big issue for me.
I hope only we can solve the issue of video recording, this issue was comon to most cm12 builds, I hope we will have a solution soon.
What i also found is that Whatsapp doesnt always receive its messages. When I start whatsapp it does sync the older messages.
Because probably it doesn't find its backup.
Probably the main memory is the internal memory and your backup is on external sd

That can be very true, in 4.4.4 (With Mokee) i swapped the internal storage / SD Card. Should i reinstall Whatsapp?
I don't know.. ?

I don't know. Maybe there's something to swap memory like mokee..
I've a problem on charging, if I turned off the device and charge, a warning message " charging abnormal " and will stop charging. On the other hand, keep the device turn on, nothing happen and as normal charging, anyone know the reason?
By the way, this seams fake, anybody tried? http://www.rom-lollipop.org/mp3-0/zte-nubia-z7-mini-6492.html

Yeah for some reason my date and time on my laptop didn't change since the last building session and hence, the same build number dates. I changed the name during the upload to raise awareness of the different builds
as the random reboots are fixed so can we use adaptive brightness nw??
Please up build 2 version to mediafire.com.Link mega not support for IDM ,download too slow about 15KB/s
Thaks
@Furrydaus This error from the screenshot is constantly popping up in CatLog. Is this bad or...? Also, the phone disconnects from WiFi when it goes into deep sleep... I leave it locked for some time and when I unlock it, no WiFi! And yes, the WiFi during sleep is set to always stay connected...
Edit: Here is the logcat when the phone is in deep sleep

Hi admin
thaks for your rom.But how about VPN , how is fix ? please
thaks
any screenshots
hey guyz those who have installed the second build please post screenshots
Just tested the ROM
Blazingly fast, ALMOST everything perfect ( except the few known bugs)
Something that i THINK hasn't been mentioned before -> phone overheats a lot during normal usage
Looking forward to seeing a 99.9% stable ROM in two or more months! Thanks a lot furrydaus!
The build 2 is quite stable and lag free, LED notifications are working, but the battery discharges fast and also the phone heats up, Music FC(i know by disabling Nu player in developer option it works), but after continuous tapping still no developer option( i disabled it first and when i again tried to enable, it didn't happen).
Here are some screenshots in attachements.

I'd try to disable nuplayer but still fc of music or "can't read the media" for google play music ( uninstall the last update makes it works but I still face some fc)

Thanks for the logcat! Well, it translates to the problem with the SELINUX Enforcing Kernel and it will hence the Wi-Fi errors
Impossible to active data with the fix script :/
