For most roms, you MUST flash GSM patch for GSM network capability.

No. The installer for that Rom has GSM patch already in it... Now what help you need for s-off? Just read the moonshine thread
Sent from my ViperDNA using my mind.

Its more likely to work if your running stock 2.06 ROM instead of viper as the other guy is saying. Moonshine doesn't support all custom roms.

[Q] Noob question about CM10 and S-off

Hello, I've recently rooted my HTC Amaze 4g with Hasoon's All in one kit. I've unlocked the but loader and and rooted, but I want to know whether or not I can install CM10 onto the device without S-Off. If in fact it is possible, how would I do it. If it is not possible how can I S-off safely without compromising my phone. Thanks in advance!
You don't need to have S-off to flash a ROM. Just boot to recovery, install CM10 from SD. Reboot.

You can use an app called Flash Image GUI from the Play Store to flash the kernel, assuming you can get your phone to boot into your current ROM. What specific problem are you having flashing the kernel with fastboot?
Your other solution is to get S-off, which is preferable

I can boot into it because I'm on the newest version of mean bean but when I flashed the boot.img of an aokp rom it booted up but was unusable so I had to install the mean bean rom
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Like I said before... You NEED to downgrade in order to use any AOSP ROM's. Not sure how many more times you're going to make these posts. Lmao.
READ THIS! YOU NEED TO DOWNGRADE TO USE AOSP! DOWNGRADING IS A PROCESS TO GAINING S-OFF! SO JUST S-OFF!
Fastboot works just fine. Just need to know how to use it.

You NEED to S-OFF.
Please listen to delakit. As long as you have the 3.16 TP you will ONLY be able to use 3.16 based sense ROMs. NO OTHERS. You HAVE to downgrade your touch panel, which can only be done if S-off.
(Side note, this is what makes me not wanna wait for HTC One price to drop. You end up with updated FW/SW that is always more difficult to S-off, if supported AT ALL).

your device has to have recieved the 1.27.531.8 OTA for it to be able to accept the 11
So is there any way to get this while running CM 10 nightly builds?

OP stated that it is radio of 11, it didn't say it's radio of 8 in order to flash to 11. What am I doing wrong?

Anybody having problems with AOSP builds and this radio? I've been having non-stop connectivity issues, I'm hoping it's just an RIL issue. Keep getting no data, then data but no connection, then no signal at all in places where I had H+ without issues in the past.

I can confirm that flashing the radio didn't do much, however, flashing an entire firmware package did make my lte reception stronger. Also, if I flash any other Rom other than .11, lte reverts back to being subpar.

none that I can see other than it's updated, for all we know it could contain security updates, patched exploits, ect... I really don't know enough about bootloaders to really see what each different one has, unless you know how to read HTC's object code, im not sure anyone other than HTC knows what is contained in each release...

So no new radio, one feature? I am on engineering build (hboot) and want NO part of any hboot change. Was hoping for something significant.
Thanks

Question, with what is in the OTA, if someone who has S-OFF through Moonshine and root (but not a custom recovery) were to take it, would there be any issues?

I am on engineering hboot, rage Rom, and phone said I have an update and after deferring it made me choose a date. I froze "updater" but am not sure that will stop the update. How do I ensure no update occurs short of switching roms? Also, will it try to update from VZW side anyway now?

DROID OTA

I'm working overseas and haven't found a way of getting the OTA for my unlocked Droid. I'm currently on 4.1.1 and Sense 4. I just need a custom ROM or Verizon's OTA
