Have you ever deleted a very important SMS which you regret for the rest of your life? Are you searching for a free SMS recovery Software? If the answer to above questions is Yes then you don’t have to worry anymore as today I will show you how to recover deleted SMS from SIM card or Phone memory.
Mod Edit: Spam removed.

You can use to undelete messages: Sim Recovery Pro. The SIM reader + software price is app more than 100 usd, So I think the better way, go to a phone service.

so glad you took the time to read this is not the correct forum

thanks !

Instead I'd just use 'go pro sms' app and take a backup from its own option to SD card and then import them back once its needed.

Problem with SMS and contact list

When I want to write a new SMS, and click on the contact list button to select a number, I only get all the contacts stored in the xda's memory, and not from the SIM. What am I doing wrong?
The xda doesn't access anything from the sim directly....only uses the sim manager program. Copy the entries to the main phone book to use them as described.

[Q] Fantom texts

Every time I reset my phone when it restarts, it tells me i have a new text message even though there is no message in my text inbox. anyone come across this before?
yes, i know this problem, and never got it solved >.< after a time it was away.. xD
what helped in my case was switching SMS view to traditional, then while scrolling through the inbox I've found one supposedly unread message at the very end of the list, after opening it marker disappeared
how to change to traditional view and back >.<
I have deleted all my messages. if i receive a sms then delete it, it clears, but if i reset it comes back.

page 146 of manual: "To manage text and multimedia messages by folders
If you want to use the conventional way of managing your messages by folders, tap Menu > Settings > Traditional Mode on the All Messages screen. The Inbox folder is then displayed, listing separate text and multimedia messages instead of threading."
another possible solution could be using PIM Backup to backup all text messages, deleting all manually and restore back - I did not try it, as the method above helped in my case
If you had another phone with a SIM and moved the SIM to your HD2 you may find there is a text message on the SIM. The HD2 can't delete from the SIM so you need to put the SIM back in a "dumb" phone and delete it there.

Deleted Txts help!

Guys I need help!
I'm trying to help a family member out with their Galaxy Ace, all of his txt msg have disappeared from the phone.
We have tried downloading everything from the simcard using sim manager, but no txt messages are there.
I am presuming that the ace stores txt to internal storage? Any idea where?
Do you have any idea how I cant recover his text msg for him? There are some important txts and he hasn't backed up.
Thanks guys.
No the ace stores it to SD card...
Atleast mine are..
Thanks.
Any idea where on the sd they are stored? File format etc?
Anyone know of any software to read them or recover?
if the messages have disappeared mostly they have been deleted and thus you cant find them on your phone..
that's the thing tho, they haven't been deleted by the user...they just disappeared.

Install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS56ZWdvZ2dsZXMuc21zc3luYyJd
Set it to back up your SMS to your Gmail, like I did. Backs up any SMS as soon as its received or sent. Works wonders.
Yeah so they might have been deleted..what did you do on the Ace?
ummm i think i saw on stock android messaging an option to delete old message automatically, and its activated by default. maybe thats what causing this case of sudden sms disappear.
Think we found the problem guys, sd card has died and is only semi readable.
I have software for data recovery, and its just flagged it up.
Doh!
Thanks for your help guys.

yup there is an option but it doesnt delete all messages you can set a limit like after 100 or 500 or whatever limit u choose the older messages start getting deleted but only till the messages are within the limit again..

[Q] Backing up and importing SMS & MMS and apps (no root)

hi XDA as I decided that I want to do some badass stuff with my SK17, I'm looking for an apps to make a backup of my stuff, namely SMS and MMS messages and the apps I installed. I don't have root yet, so I thought it might be a little tricky.
regarding messages: I've looked on several SMS backup apps from the Play Store, but I read in description that they don't support MMS messages yet. then I found Txtract, which does, but sadly I can't see an "import" option in it.
regarding apps: I've already found FileExpert which can make backups of .apk files, but is there an app to also save the data related to the game (downloaded SD stuff, game progress, settings etc.)?

For apps titanium backup would be best, but without root, i dont know if it will save the data. Did you look into my backup pro, or even just for the msgs sms backup & restore?
Cheers,
Evil.
"Please note that this app does not support MMS (Picture/Audio/Video) messages." - SMS Backup & Restore.
I was reading on some forums that My Backup Pro doesn't export and import MMS messages, but I guess it was about some other version. thanks, I'll try it

I think it is because it give you the option to backup to their servers, but you need to be connected to sign up for it haha a little stupid I agree but yeah thats my best guess.

Please help thanks,.. SIM card contacts

Hello Members, I've just starting to get to grips with the XZU. I've also done various Google searches on the info I'm looking for so help would be great thanks.
The problem is I'd like to keep my contacts on the SIM card, and also save them by default to the SIM card, trouble is, if I go to my contacts the only option I can see is to copy them to the phone, if I go to the SMS app and want to add a recipient none of my contacts are shown but if someone calls they appear in the call log with there contact name, so the phone is seeing my contacts in the SIM card.
So all I'd like is to continue to save new contacts to the SIM card, but also have the XZU get it's contact list from the SIM card.
Help would really be great as I'm lost to now know all my numbers (stupid I know).
Regards
Livo
Just to report regarding my post, the answer is 'no', the contacts have to be imported to the phone, this has come from Sony direct, although when the time comes any new contacts should be able to be exported back to the SIM card for future use.
Regards
I think it is an android limitation... I tried on my Galaxy Note (custom JB rom) and my old xperia x10 (custom GB rom).. both of them dont have export to sim option...
Maybe because with the current capabilities of phones, manufacturers dont see the need of saving contacts to SIM anymore...? :what:
