[q] in desperate need of help!! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am in need of some help ASAP.!!
Have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I had rooted it and flashed different Eclipse ROMs and decided to go with CarbonROM all in one night. I liked everything about Carbon until I noticed the next day I didn't have 4g anymore and wouldn't go over 2 bars of signal. So I decided i wanted to flash back to factory unrooted. I searched and searched and read and read to make sure just how to do it for my phone. I used Odin and it successfully flashed but than when it went to reboot it keeps flashing the startup "Samsung Galaxy Note II" over and over. Is this bootloop correct? If so i have searched and searched how to fix this and nothing is working. Either Odin gets stuck at SetupConnection, or hangs, wont even recognize my Note (I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times.) and nothing is working. I have no access to recovery mode, only download.
I really need some help with this. Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

If you are able to go into recovery then wipe to factory reset.... If not then try to install the stock rom via odin

I was able to finally restore it back to factory. I ended up using a stock ROM from one thread used with a pit. file from the Root/Unroot Guide on this forum along with checking the re-partitioning. It was successful the first try amazingly, entered a true bootloop as i found out (flashed 4gLTE rainbow etc over and over.) and was able to access recovery mode. Wiped cache and factory reset and rebooted. Phone is now working!!
BUT... no 4g?? only 3g and signal is still somewhat weak compared to past signals. Do I need to alter APN, IMEI, or stuff like that?? :S

Also a sidenote, I used to be 4.2.2, and now after stock restore/flash I am 4.1.2. Is this a big deal and can I upgrade to lets say 4.3 without rooting or do custom ROMs update this or do they need a base to be added to? :S

i havent flashed any other custom rom before the objection ics. i came from stock rooted telus.
tried flashing the tar file from this thread

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27508953#post27508953
- sometimes odin freezes but when it doesnt and actually finishes flashing, phone wouldnt start up after the automatic reboot. (how long should i wait for the initial boot to start? i wait for about 2-3 minutes of nothing but black screen before resetting)
i tried flashing the backup files from this thread

anybody have an idea whats going on?

i flashed back to the objection rom through cwm to make sure that my phone isnt bricked or anything. seems to be working fine. havent tried any other custom roms though.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Hi you may have a partition that is corrapted or there may be something wrong with that telus Odin flash. Go to dev section. There is another Odin flash for telus. It is a stock telus rom rooted that is flashed through Odin. It does work, I hav e used: t before. I will send you a link when I get home from work.

I use to have a telus note now I have a rogers note. I may still have a back up of a telus rom. Will check my computure when I get home

I may have found your problem. When using Odin, and flashing a backup file, it does not format your phone partitions. So you first have to go into cwm and do a factory wipe, wipe dalvik and go into advance and wipe the other dalvik . Do a battery pull, and now put your phone into download for Odin. I have telus kernel, telus modem and telus stock recovery that can be flashed in cwm. Just not sure if I have the stock from still. Pm me if you have any questions

Just a update wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache before you use Odin to flash a rom. I told you partly wrong in precise post

thanks for the help guys
thanks for the help guys.
i dont know if its a partition problem though but it really got me worried.
for some reason i got it to flash properly and it booted up with no problems.
now im thinking thats its the odin software that was causing the problems. the first one that i used to root my phone a couple of weeks back had an "evo 4g" title at the top. it didnt gave me any problems back then so i ignored it. and thats the same one ive been busting to use last night to flash back to stock. anyhow, i tried using a different odin3 that has "android+slp" label on it and i noticed that it was freezing less and actually finishes the flashing but the bootup still has some problems. i get stuck at the bootup logo for a couple of tries. after sometime i just flashed it over and over again until i hit the jackpot.
is there anyway that i can check if my partitions are still broken? im thinking that i wont be doing any flashing until the update comes in july. the ics roms arent stable enough for me anyway.
oh what do i do if wanna get the official ics update? i have stock system, i think, but its rooted. do i just flash stock kernel and unroot it?
i found an article in lockermikedotcom that allows you to unroot using a batchfile. i was wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction. thanks
If you have a stock rom but it is rooted, flashing a stock kernel usually does not remove root. You would have to install stock recovery first and then you adb to remove the superuser and busbox files from your phone to get it totally stock like it was before you rooted it. This batch file DooMLord_v1_unrooting_zip will unroot your phone .It work on the Rogers Note anyways. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7ysrb3v7tfu9t1a

[Q] Galaxy note GT-N7000 stuck factoryfs.img

hello,
Im new here
I've been upgrading to ICS from the official update which is N7000DXLP9-----------------------2012 May-----------N7000OLBLP6-----------Indonesia from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
it works great, until I see some red frame around and tried to fix it by going to buildprop and editing the buildtype from dev to user (what I found on the internet), but then I found out that mine is already user so I tried changed it to dev and when I restart, the phone stuck on samsung logo, but I am still able to go to recovery mode, the problem is I cant get odin to flash any rom to my note, it always stuck at factoryfs.img. then I installed abys kernell to wipe my factory reset, cache, dalvik, then I started to flash with odin again, with the patched pit file I got from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886, and the official update from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997, suddenly it works, and I tried to restore data from CWM ( stupid me)....turns out it got back again on the logo samsung and stuck there and so i tried flashing again and it started to stuck around factoryfs everytime, I tried to use abyss but this time after I wiped everything and used the patched pit file like before, it still stuck, so I found a post from the internet, it was custom ICS, i forgot where i got it but i have the file if you'd like to know, and so i tried, then it leaves me with my counter started to count 1 and still stuck at factoryfs....and I cant even go to recovery mode now, I have tried USB JIG and I succeeded to turn the counter back to zero but still stuck at factoryfs.img and still cant go to recovery mode even through bootloader,..... please help! i love my gnote
finally i got my note back....
but it was by guarantee. ... and still i would like to know how to get out of such stuck.... please help

Hi Bro m stck at the same position as u so can u please tell me how did u get this fixed ?
Honestly it is all very confusing. Best to stick to a reputable source for flashing and troubleshooting.
There are dangerous guides on the internet not updated to circumnavigate later discovered brick.

Bricked, flashing stock rom doesn't work

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've tried searching the forums and using different methods to recover it, but none have worked so far.
SO I flashed the ICS Domination theme over Diet ICS rom, stuff was continuously force closing, so I factory wiped with the intention of re-flashing just the rom... after a reset the phone was stuck on the samsung boot screen.
I've tried using Odin to load the stock Rogers rom, it says it worked, but trying to boot the phone up its stuck on the samsung boot screen.
Am I missing something? Is there anything you guys can suggest I try??
EDIT: Oops, wrong forum, meant to put this in the AT&T forum
Snap my phone is stuck on samsung screen for awhile now, it's not doing anything at all
Wipe everything in recovery and flash a rom from either recovery or odin..

[Q] Samsung Exhilarate: Soft Brick or Hard Brick?

Noob here, please bear with me:
Updated my I577 to ICS, then rooted it using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1806118
Worked like a charm, then I picked up ROM Toolbox Lite from PlayStore, which worked fine until I tried to change themes.
Somehow, it got to where boot was stuck at vendor logo. Unfortunately I did not Nandroid backup in time, but I was able to do a Kies backup before rooting, so not worry about the data loss at this time.
Used CWM5, did davlik & cache wipes, factory resets several times, no dice. No stock ROM available so I tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30444507&postcount=6
(flashed system tar through ODIN) Hanged at "system.img.ext4".
Here's where I'm at now:
-- Boot looping at second Samsung logo
-- ODIN 1.85 still reads device at port
-- Battery indicator visible when plugged in & power off.
-- Still able to get to cwm recovery 5.5.0.4
So, IS IT SOFT BRICKED OR HARD BRICKED?
Bonus Question: Is it unbrickable?
Any input or answers are GREATLY appreciated, and a fix will most likely be monetarily compensated through Paypal.
Black-wolf, j3r3goss, or shabbypenguin if you see this, your input is certainly appreciated as well!
Its soft bricked. Hard brick means there is no life at all and won't even power on (through software).
Any soft brick is unbrickable, the only nonunbrickable brick is a hard brick (which is rare)

If you can get into Clockwork Mod Recovery still then select wipe data (Do this twice), then select whipe cache (Do this twice), next select factory reset (Do this twice), finally go back and select reboot system. This should unbrick your phone for you

THANKS so far for the input!
I was able to nandroid out of the loop, but now it's back to my original problem--it keeps booting to the "Rethink Possible" AT&T screen & freezing.
Any ideas? I'm thinking I'm gonna be outta luck until I get my hands on a legit Gingerbread Stock tar.
Did you whipe cache, whipe data and preform a factory reset like we suggested? Preforming a nandroid restore won't get you out of your phone hanging on the at&t logo.

Are you able to get into recovery mode? Did you flash a custom recovery such as TWRP or Clockwork Mod Recovery?

Hi thanks for your response to my problem,
yes i flashed a custom recovery from clockwork and i rooted it. i cant get in to recovery mode.
after i did that i tried flashing custom rom like i said before but after reboot it didnt do anything.
i just got the startscreen and found that i could use download mode and odin to flash original rom.
i used 1 click downloader from Odin and it started to recover my rom,but at the end it stalled.
after that happened i couldnt do anything anymore.
i thought it was totally dead but i just saw that when i connect to my comp it says unknown device..
im an idiot for trying this stuff without the knowledge..it looked easy in descriptions
but i found different descriptions how to do it..
i cant put links in my posts yet cause i am new..
i used the 1st one.. but after that didnt work i found that other 1 and that is little different...

I did all that, but the one thing that finally nailed it was formatting my internal SD. I also formatted my external one, but I don't even think I put it back in the phone.
So, if anybody's reading this in the future, and you're still stuck after wiping the cache, wiping Davlik & performing factory reset,
FORMAT THE SD!
And flash this through Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31765274&postcount=59

Hey, total noob here but Im having problems with my Galaxy S4 so I was on this thread looking for a fix.I have an AT&T Galaxy s4 (SGH-I337) and I just rooted my phone and installed clockworkmod recovery. I went to backup and then when I rebooted it freezes at the AT&T logo. Ive wiped data/factory reset, wiped caches, etc ive done everything and it freezes at the same spot. I have no ROMS as I had just rooted, just stock 4.2.2. Then I saw a vid on how to unroot/unbrick and it was working perfectly until it went to reboot.(I downloaded 4.2.2 firmware for my model phone) I used ODIN and it said pass then when it was rebooting it froze in the exact same spot (also instead of the normal bootup it still had the "custom" and an unlocked lock that Ive had since I rooted) and now I cant enter recovery mode. It starts booting but then freezes when the blue letters come on! Now even when I try to turn it on normally it freezes at the samsung logo (with unlocked lock and "custom")Please help! I would greatly appreciate it!

[Q] CyanogenMod broke voice service on all ROMs

Here's what's happening:
I have a Galaxy Note 2 (i605) running Stock MC3 firmware. Everything is functioning perfectly. Then, I decide to unlock / flash cyanogenmod. After unlocking, everything still functions fine. After flashing cyanogenmod, my note will still connect to 4G, but will not send SMS, MMS, or phone calls.
No problem, I think. I odin back to stock MC3. Perfectly stock, same exact issue. How is it possible that something changed by installing cyanogenmod "sticks" through an odin-cycle?
Please someone help. I'm not enjoying having such an expensive paperweight.
Same exact problem here... trying to figure it out.
I had a similar issue on my s3. I had to use the unbrick files for Odin instead of the stock ones. It fixed it for me. Except my issue was I was stuck in roaming.

ugh, now I'm stuck in roaming after using Odin root66
If you are on a stock rom go to settings > backup and reset > factory reset. Let the phone reboot on its own. When it reboots run through the setup and it should be working again once you finish. That's what worked for me.

I did that 3 or 4 times and it didn't work for me.
Exactly which stock odin flash did you use? I used root66_VZW_stock_system
I did not use Odin. I just flashed back to cleanrom and did the factory reset from settings not from recovery. Also I am using cwm and not twrp just in case that may make a difference.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
I went back to stock, did the reset and got the radio working correctly after that. then rooted again. so annoying. bad CM10.2 bad!!
Just in case anyone else is like me and didn't thoroughly read this thread...
You must factory reset from the settings option, NOT FROM RECOVERY.
I'm not clear as to why that makes a difference, but after I Odin'd to stock and ran CASUAL, I kept using ServiceModeShortcut to toggle the modem, then rebooting into recovery to factory reset. Never worked. Then I reread this thread and realized I needed to do it from the settings menu instead. Worked first time! :victory:
What a stressful few hours. Totally thought I wrecked my phone...now, it's clean and ready to install a ROM. Think I'm sticking with Beans for a while :good:
