I can't get my laptop to recognize my Fascinate. I'm on a 4.2.2 ROM. I've tried several different drivers for my laptop, but still can't get it to recognize it so I can use Odin. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

It could be the cord, the usb port, or the computer itself. I had the same problem a couple of times but fixed it by switching usb ports. I found that some ports worked and some didn't.(Weird huh?) If that doesn't work then you may have to try a different computer.
See, I thought it might be those things too. I've changed cords, ports, and computers. No luck.

I have a macbook pro too. I just use Kies and use its built in file manager. It will automatically mount your sdcard and internal.

You need to use PTP instead of MTP.

very true, i just had my new cable that came with my gs3 unopened had to open it and it worked lol =D
People should learn ADB, it will help you in the long run with other things besides file transfering
I'm waiting for kies to support Mountain Lion. meanwhile I'm using Android File Transfer.
I use android file transfer it works very well. However make sure you choose camera connection and not MTP or it won't work.

Flashing time it is.
Sorry for doublepost. When rooting phone i lost warranty right ? So what if i unrooted it and installed a stock rom ? I did that with my previous phone the s8500 wave that ran bada and it was accepted in the shop for repairing.
Would that be an option? And is there a tutorial on how to restore the gs2 to stock?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
you got that right. Make it "out of the box" like and they won't notice it.
Now the question is how i do that... i'll google the crap out of this but if someone can give directions all help is welcome.
Thak you.

With the console command?

Has anyone figured out how to get KIES to wrok over USB? KIES does not recognize my device. I have tried intalling the drivers, changing cables, and changing ports. I noticed in device manager my phone is there but under other devices I get "Contracted SmartCard" with a question mark. I am using VISTA on PC, ROM is Beans Town V6. Any Help will be appreciated!!!
Yeah metoo. I try to connect my hone to kies as well it doesnt work. Ive heard its specifically verizon note 2s. other variants do work. i would love to know a way to connect if there is
Connected Now BUT
I am able to connect to KIES by USB now but it tells me that my device is not supported which desn't make sense since the Note 2 is a pretty new device..... Does anyone have a solution to force it to work or am I at the mercy of Samsung to support the device?????
The latest thing I have read says us model note 2s are not supported. Can anyone confirm?

Thats weird. I cannot get it to recognize my device over usb but have it working over air.

I have contacted samsung, verizon actually blocked it so you are forced to use the backup assistant instead
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
That should have just been an automatic assumption at this point. Ridiculous.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I wonder why they would block it? Bastards!!!

It's most likely your computer that's being mean to you. I'd try:
1. different usb cables
2. different usb ports on your computer
3. re-start your computer
4. completely uninstall kies
5. re-start your computer and install kies again!
You may need to get into Windows (I'm assuming you're on a Windows machine) registry and clear out usb device entries -- google it.
Try reinstalling the drivers

Download PDANet and the Samsung Drivers. Use a oem cable and see what happens. I had a issue when I first got my Note but it was probably because of Windows 8 not playing well with it.

Hey guys I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I've searched all over the Web and haven't been able to find a solution. My problem is that my wireless charging doesn't work on my phone on any rom I've tried, so I need to ruu back to stock to see of it works on there and if not get a warranty replacement. The problem I'm having us that my parents will not recognize my phone at all. It will charge when I plug it in to the pic but that is it. It doesn't even show up in Windows Explorer at all. I've tried re-installing drivers HTC sync and multiple other things. Tried my friends computer too and nothing shows up either. Is it possible that my usb port on the phone is screwed? If anyone has any ideas or help I would greatly appreciate it.

What operating system are u using? windows 8 and 8.1 are having problems with adb and fastboot
I'm using Windows 8. I've been using that for a while though with no problems. I hadn't plugged my phone in to my pc for a few months until the other day. My friends of is Windows 7 and it's the same thing. The weirdest thing is Windows doesn't even have the message pop up saying that removable media is connected or whatever. It is literally invisible to all computers.
