[Q] save modified theme - Themer General Discussion

Hi, I downloaded a theme and I´ve made some mods on the layout and stuff like that. is there a way to save that as a theme? so the next time a change themes and want to go back to the one I have now I can just select it, instead of having to modify the downloaded theme again?

simply export the theme under a different name m8
in themer browse themes
settings/advanced/export theme
just change the name

[Q] Where is the Res folder?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew where the res folder is in the system? I am trying to compile my own custom theme for the theme chooser in Gingerbread, and I need to access some of the files in the system default theme.

well there are alot of res folders in a rom. Every apk has one. The one you are probably looking for is under system/framework/framework-res.apk....open that apk and you will see the res folder with the drawable folders in it that have most of the png's for the default theme.

As Conap stated most of the images are in framework-res but there is also a good amount that you will want to change in system/app/SystemUI.apk. This is the default Theme Chooser apk and where a lot of the images that you won't find in framework but will probably want to change can be found.

[Q] How I can set a default theme on CM9? [NOT RESOLVED]

Hello XDA, and my question is: ''How I can set default theme on CM9?'' :good:
In CM7, I modify build.prop and set default theme trought parameters: persist.sys.themeId= & persist.sys.themePackageName=.
But, how in CM9? Doesn't appear this parameters in build.prop of CM9.
HOW!?

Help me, please! :crying:
Thanks! Cheers!
Hey, what can you see if you go to settings, under "interface" tab, go to Themes

No. What I mean is I am finishing up an new ICS ROM. And I want a different theme to boot into DEFAULT the first time it boots without the person to need to select it. Example: Sense4 Theme in Cyanogenmod's theme chooser. Have that one boot as default the first time after initial install of Custom ROM instead of System theme. "WHERE IS THAT SETTING LOCATED!" I Know how to choose a theme in theme chooser.

In CM7 you can choose the default theme by editing the build prop. Then when that CM7 rom is installed, that custom theme is used instead. There has to be a way in CM9 too. HELP I'm not making one for X10 but found this Post asking the same question I am asking. This answer would help alot of us Devs

[Q] Themes before the update

Hi all , I updated My phone to the latset update and its quite good.. but what I hated is that it changed the themes from (ruby , amethist , saphire etc...) to (Heat ,Silk , Vintage ..etc) and I dont like the new themes .. is there a way to restore or install the old themes before the update without rooting the device?

The colour tones for the New themes are not visible properly on Icons and widgets
I guess you can re-install the "old" ones manually by rooting and moving them to /system/app. Download the stock ROM on your computer and pull them out yourself (from /system/app), or ask if someone here can do it for you (just upload them to Dropbox/Drive/etc. from the phone). I would do it, but i still don't have the Ultra.

Manually move them to /system/app and change their permissions (root needed) to 6-4-4 (RW-R-R), and then reboot. I'm not 100% sure it'll work though.

THANK YOU !! I managed to install it and everything is fine...but ... I notice that some of the colors in the theme turned into black : ex. (Email, notification) so I am thinking of changing my strategy here... is there a way to change the color tone of the existing themes? like editing the color pallet or something in the app?

Yeah, but you'll have to decompile the apk and start messing around with xml files and stuff. Go to the Themes section in the Xperia Z forum and ask if someone can help you.

It will work without root but you must have samsung theme store and it will work for 5 minutes as trial version.
If you have theme store then install the theme then apply the theme after that go to settings/applications and search for theme store and disable it or force stop it.after doing this you will have theme permanent without root.
If you want to switch themes again you have to enable theme store.

Open root browser and go to data/overlays and here just delete preference folder then reboot quickly.the new preference folder will create automatically after reboot
It will work.
You must delete preference folder every time you move theme from trialjson to userjson otherwise theme wont take effect.

Maybe the theme is not compatible with the rom you currently running i never had this kind of issues.
Try to clear data and cache of email app.

It's the same on two very different roms, one S5 and a Note4 rom, both N7/S8 ported. Clearing data/cache doesn't solve it.
