You have to activate Developer Options to see PerformanceControl
At this point I don't have any other Options/tweaks implemented so it displays nothing till that is activated.

Exactly what I am thinking. This will not be a feature filled ROM. It will have some basic customizations though. I am also open to suggestions and opinions as well.

I suggest keeping it lean. Kill all recents and reboot menu are really all that's missing from stock aosp IMO. Changing the icons is a welcome touch too.
I've seen a lot of devs set out with similar intentions and it always seems to get out of hand. I understand though, it's a hobby and you're going to want to keep having fun with it.
So I would recommend just keeping it simple... Everyone is going to ask for volume rocker wake/skip track, nav bar options, etc. Things that are available in pretty much every custom ROM not to mention xposed framework. But of course it's your hobby so do as you like. Glad to see you share your work with us.

features list is as follows.. for you to choose from...
> Ascending ringtone
> Accurate network stats in statusbar
> Hide keyboard selection notification
> Show/Hide charging source (AC / USB) in lockscreen

Actually I would like to disagree. Every ROM out there seems to be going for the minimalist or clean look (eg rastakat, PSX, slim, purity). There are very few ROMs that are feature pack nowadays (off my head, I can only think of carbon, CM and perhaps PA). Those minimalist ROMs are already doing a very good job of providing a fast, efficient and lean ROM. What do you have to offer that's different from them?

That's the beauty of a community and multiple Roms. Users can choose which ROM they like and which works best for them. I am creating this ROM for what I like to see in a ROM. At this point it functions just like stock and doesn't have any 'special' features. It will be receiving more tweaks and features but will not be, let's say "fully loaded"
I figured I would share what I have made with hopes that others would enjoy it too.

It means the status bar and nav bar are translucent like on the home screen. Stock aosp has the same black bars as jelly bean so I have enabled the translucent decor in the source before building.

This looks pretty nice actually. I hope you put some time in this I'm currently running rastakat which is also pretty bloat-free, but this looks way better.
I don't know what everybody else thinks, but functions like volume rocker/ skip track are pretty neat features that do not bother everybody that doesn't want them.
Also I would love to see "Hide keyboard selection notification" by the way .
I think I am going to install this tonight.
Cheers!

Everything you want and more can be done with the xposed framework through the proper modules. Gravity box, for example. Look it up and you will be pleased to find that you can enable these features on any ROM you want to run

No volume wake though, i would have gone the stock way if that was possible. Correct me if i m wrong, would rather be wrong here.
Really the only things that I find extremely useful volume rocker wake (sometimes) , customizable quick settings ( mainly orientation lock and unlock) , customizable led, and navring customization (mainly screen off and power menu to prevent wear on the power button)..... Will be following this rom

Always follow the OP through and through.
If things are acting weird, or you have things going on and don't see too many people reporting it.
Redownload rom and gapps
Wipe data factory reset
Wipe dalvik and cache
Format System (upon flashing rom it will do this automatically)
Then flash rom and gapps then reboot system. (boot the rom and then go back and flash your kernel of choice, if that's what you choose to do).
Also if having issues, boot into safe mode and see if issues still persist. Boot into safe mode by hold power button and long press on reboot. This will boot you into no 3rd party apps mode, basically. To get out of it, just reboot normally
To enable Developer Options, go to; settings|about phone|tap build number 7/8 times
to enable reboot options,(recovery, download) enable advanced reboot in Developer options
Dual Panel mode will cause some weirdness in settings. Turn them of to set everything up and forget about it after.
All the tabletui settings work but nav colors reset after reboot
If you have the "tick" while playing music then disable "Screen lock sound" & "Touch sounds". Temporary work around for now
No PhotosPhere in this rom still...might get added but depends on stability and CyanogenMod
You must flash Gapps everytime you install the rom as it wipes system every time. Use the gapps in the original post, if you use other Gapps keep those errors to your self and adress the person that made those Gapps.
Facebook acts up and is weird?? Stop using the app.
Update system apps before saying things are broken. (Google Now)
If you decide to run a 3rd party kernel, take your issues about; speed, battery, and reboots to that thread, we cant change their kernel to make it better for you, they can. Thanks.
You will not have a 4g icon, it is an H+ when data is being retreived, when idle it is a 3g icon.
This is a work in progress, I'll update it as needed
FAQ PART
What base is this?
It is based off SlimRoms, with a lot of changes... It is it's own rom now
Which MMS app is built in?
A custom one, it has Themeable MMS and Popup. look in screenshots for my goofy face and pictures.
How to activate pie control?
settings>piecontrols>activate toggle. The trigger is at the bottom, slide your finger up slowly, and it will come up.
Where are the Touchwiz features?
In a Touchwiz rom.
How do I take a screenshot?
Volume down & power, OR... settings>powermenu>enable the screenshot.
Does this rom have Tablet mode and such things?
No, and there are no plans for adding it as of now.
Thread not ready yet !

I look forward to testing this rom!
Seems like I been setting up my phone with something new every day lately. It's nice to finally get a bunch of new developers for this phone. Welcome
beamed from transporter room 3
This looks awesome will definitely stay updated with this ROM.
I love the little and subtle differences about this rom. The Font, The Animation, The Organization of the Interface Settings.... Really Slick Rom.. Pretty impressed with this!
I am very happy everyone is enjoying my build both official and unofficial ones , both there is a little problem ,as I am from India bandwidth here is very costly and due to fair usage crap my high speed(2mbps) connection bandwidth is almost over.I would be very grateful if you people would help me buy more data ,so as to provide you with updated builds for your device.
Still I will try to provide you with as much updates as my pocket can buy ...

Having tested the initial build, I've found no bugs at all. This is the most solid beta I've found.
Edit:
A few things that might help a future build. ES file explorer really helps for installing apks we might have on sd card as well as moving files that the default file manager seriously lacks. There is no reboot to recovery option under the reboot tab. Beyond that, amazing first build.

It's kinda funny cause last night I had emailed some slim devs asking if they would bring slim to us and then the next day we Have a rework of it.
I believe this to be the fastest, smoothest, fluent and graphic glitch free AOSP so far. All is perfect so far... I need to study audios and GPS before calling it the hands down best
Also I am digging the KLP theme
And the I truly love the animations

Can we get a link to the kernel.baked into the ROM.? I would like to dabble with Devil or Plasma just to see how they play but in case they don't do well with this I'd like to return back to the kernel initially baked in.

I'm a Stock ROM kinda guy, but after reading the glowing reviews of this ROM I may just give it a try.
Let me another +1 to comment on how smooth this ROM is, didn't think I'd be going back to AOSP but this was too tempting. Everything just flows, its so fluid.
How is the volume compared to the volume in other 4.2.2 roms?
I absolutely love this rom and have only one minor issue, that's with the volume. Its a little low to me but I'll report back if I find a work around or any other issues.

Volume is going to be low around all aosp roms for a while. At least until CM Commits show a fix/change in the volume. Once that is fixed in the CM thread, then all aosp roms merge those changes into their own build. There are workarounds in the meantime and i believe Shangrila has posted one in the plasma kernel thread. Just the latest 411 for ya.

I am proud to present to you @scott.hart.bti's BeanStalk. This is a build composed off of the CM-11.0 builds with allot of added features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also DerTeufel1980's Hellybean and have been modified to work with current setup. A huge thanks to @DerTeufel1980 and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to @skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
He plan's on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

its even better on the n5
While I prefer the build quality on the N4, the N5 is a better device and I like the black slab that sits on a Post-It pad.

I can use Banks' Gapps, right? I don't like the plethora of stuff that comes with PA.
How do you wipe Android Secure and Preload? What are those and what will they get rid of?

One super simple (seemingly so anyway) mod that none of these ROM's have is when you hit the Menu soft key (if enabled, and from the home screen) you get to System Settings...NOT the long press on the home screen Settings like widgets, wallpaper, etc.
Only a couple have the option to add a Menu button, NOT showing a static three dot menu.
As minor as that sounds, those are the two things for me that I really look for simply for ease of use. By the way does your ROM include the Caller ID for the Google Dialer? None of these ROM's have it, only the stock ROM does.
When is upload finished?
Best regards

Looks interesting. Flashing now!
Edit: Hmm something's not working. Installed rom/gapps and it shows the boot animation for 3-4 seconds then goes to black screen.
Edit2: Ok got it working on 2nd go around.
Flashed this using Philz + Pa Gapps + KToonsez Kernel and all went well.
Two little issues I had :
The keyboard wouldn't gesture type no matter what I did settings wise. I uninstalled the keyboard using TiBu then went and wiped cache/Dalvic then I installed one of Shaf's themed keyboards and i was good.
The other one was that my volume panel wouldn't pop up randomly when hitting the volume keys. Not sure if its a ROM bug or what but later in going to reflash this without KT kernel and see if maybe that issue goes away.
Other than that though this ROM is sweet. I posted all this in the i9505 thread and figured since I just saw this thread pip up I'd share here too.

I'm going to get to flash this in about 30 minutes and was wondering if you used there gapps, which are super minimal. I'm ok with that because I'll just add the few things that I want.
Just wondering because I use pa gapps almost exclusively.
Thanks again

No it didn't. I usually run mine at 420 and no dice.
I just grabbed a keyboard from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387785
Then uninstalled the one that came with this ROM + wiped cache/Dalvic then installed the new one and gesture is good to go.
Not sure if you've used these keyboards Shaf makes but typically you can't just uninstall stock then install the themed one... You need to wipe caches in between or it won't allow the install.
Other than that and this ROM is pretty sweet. I'm going to run it for a few and see where it takes me

In case anyone ( @mcconvict ) just can't be without Back to kill feature an alternative for now is adding back to kill/kill apk to the notification shortcut. I know I know its not the same but its what we have lol

Q: Will Viper4Android work?
A: No, v4a will not work, due to the rom's internal custom audio engine. Trying to install v4a drivers will "work," but on reboot it'll ask to install again. Use the Audio FX widget to control the engine's sound mods and equalization.
Will try this soon...
Downloading now. Thank you!

ROM is running perfect so far as I can tell. No wake locks or random reboots here. But I would really like the stock font.. Can I change this through the rom(can't find the settings)? And I happened to find the 'chamber of secrets' lol. Any insight on this?
Thanks for the best rom I've run yet.. I've been wanting to he rid of this phone so bad lately but I think I can be content with this ROMs stability thanks a ton!

I haven't tried changing fonts yet, but if you can, tell us whether an app works or not. Google SlimRom chamber of secrets for more details. Glad you're enjoying the ROM.

In the audio fx settings I only see an option to affect the style and not the audio.
I'm sure its me.
Sound ROM otherwise thanks for the hard work devs!

Go to your launcher and activate the audio fx widget. Control it from there. Also, change settings in audio fx settings to the ones in the attachment for easiest usage.

Great job on the ROM its running very well! One thing that I thought was kind of odd was there is no Clock app that I can see.
Very well done tho I appreciate the effort a lot!

The clock app appears for me. Of you really can't find it, try opening your status bar and tapping the time. Not the date mind you. Though the clock app should be there...

Still didn't work and can't find it. Probably because I used the ultraslim GApps.

That could be it. I personally always use stock PA gapps in order to prevent issues like this. If you need a link, I can send you one.

Sound pack option isn't working in RC-03 yet. Don't worry though, there wasn't anything in there anyways. SOKP team has released Milestone 1 for a few devices. Once a few more issues are sorted out and more options are added, we will release for Jewel also, as long as there are people still using the ROM (which I doubt, seeing as this device is quickly reaching its expiration date.)

The milestone -1 build can't be flashed, the TWRP says "Error executing updater binary in zip".
I already checked the MD5.

Thanks for bring us this great rom.
-----update-----
The built-in X-posed framework can't be updated.
The mobile reception is very poor, I can't even make a phone call. It's more than 40%(2 or 3 bars) on the RC.

I'm really happy that people are getting encouraged to build ROMs ,even if they exist as official .
Good that you share your newer builds here
Are we free to ask you to add more features?

I'm trying to do the same thing. From a week now I'm trying to set up my build environment and even now compilation is in progress I had some problems with Ubuntu 14.04 but now I on 13.10 it will finish I think(fingers crossed). So good luck in future development! Before me there so much to learn yet but I hope I will share my ROM soon! Cheers!
@yashade2001, what branch? What did you have to do to get this to work? I tried briefly, but there were problems with gcc and my builds always failed.
Great job! Running now. Had to flash supersu 2.01 to get root so i also flashed uber 4.10 7/2 kernel.
Running well so far

Umm, Mike C. said "update your distro" to me then i updated to ubuntu 14.04 lts and not seeing many of errors. Btw ThemeChooser and ThemesProvider are buggy in psd so i deleted that 2 repos from my psd source and downloaded them from cm github (stable/cm11 branch).

Vanir or Carbon Nav bar settings (instead of cm) - Ability to change long press and double press actions.
Power LED light (LED while Charging)
CM Profiles
Lockscreen resecure by shaking
Carbon or Vanir Nav Bar targets (circle) - Disable up icon on Lockscreen when all targets are disabled
Clock to change profiles on alarm/disable Alarm Icon
Change Remix settings Icon to the PA logo (simpler look doesnt stand out in settings menu) - (white on white backgound save to see the icon ) https://raw.githubusercontent.com/P...b43/res/drawable-xhdpi/ic_settings_hybrid.png
Remove the bug report on the remix settings, Looks out of place
Add settings search like CM
Remove bloat (Exchange, Normal email client, live wallpapers, std, etc.... and put the bloat in an addon pack) the bloat never gets updates anyway this will save time on uploads and save my time from having to remove it every time and give a slight speed boost due to less apps being installed.
Quite hours
Black list doesnt belong in the settings menu if it is in the phone settings too.
Battery Life Top Bar on status bar, Option to disable Battery Icon. (Carbon figured out how to do this without removing the icon from the quicksettings)
Things I don't use and I find bloaty (Others may still use them and like them):
- PIE
- Wake Lock Blocker
-Gesture Anywhere
-Resents RAM bar (Looks ugly, Vanirs looks a ton better if you could port that)
-Animations Control for system. listeView,Scrolling, Keyboard
Speed tweaks like my package that includes speed, audio, font, and uber kernel tweaks from various sources including Vanir ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9FlgYaHykCCdkUzZFJhS3JMZWs/edit?usp=sharing)
(Also Removes Bloat *check scripts)
Gapps Preinstalled (I like the stock PA Gapps but I remove the bloat like the magizines app, etc...., and they have a play services fixers to ensure that the right services are installed so you can just pull that out so we wont get errors on boot)
Google Launcher instead of Stock
Android L Pulls (Keyboard, Fonts, Sounds, Boot ani, Wallpapers, herathalon theme)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/theme-herathon-t2800913
Uber Kernel?
Custom Wallpapers?
Maybe more Im not thinking of right now.
REMEMBER JUST IDEAS, NOT REQUEST. Some might be difficult, some might be easy. =] Just do the ones you like. Thanks for taking the time to read through all of these.

Personally I find halo super bloaty, It just clutters my notifation area (There is enough stuff there with hover and quicksettings changer, no need to add more. But just my thoughts.
Cherry-picked alternative screen off effects from pa gerrit. Building now.

You're right! I don't like halo on kitkat. Hover is 1000 times better than halo.

Supersu? Did you mean koushik dutta's superuser? Yeah i solved that error by doing these:
1) make sure you got themesprovider and themechooser from cm's 'stable/cm11' branch.
2) go to .repo
3) open manifest.xml
4) delete these lines:
- koush/superuser and
- koush/one more thing i dont remember
5) save manifest.xml
6) go to .repo/projects/external
7) delete koush folder
8) go to your source directory
9) delete external/koush
10) repo sync
11) get koush's repos from another rom source and place them to source dir/external/koush. I got them from aospal kitkat-legacy branch.
Head up, make sure to post the kernel source on your OP or your thread will be locked.
