[Q] Us Cellular Galaxy S4 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hello wonderful people!
I have a question for you. I have a Galaxy S4 on US Cellular, rooted, with Team Win recovery and Carbon Rom. On my old S1 and S3, I could run Verizon roms without any issues. However, I've noticed with this phone that i have run roms labeled as being specifically for USC or my phone won't fully boot. It seems like about half of the roms here also have a USC version, but I'd love to be able to run all the roms
Does anyone here know a workaround for this problem?
This information is just from my own experience. Does anyone have any more intelligent insight?

Does anyone know why the S4 is more picky about roms than the S3 was? Is there something that can be unlocked?

Bump?

Have you checked the Sprint forums also? I would read around, now that Sprint "owns" USC, things might be better for you over "there"

First thing to check is the model of the phone. Look on the label under the battery. If it says "GT-I9100", then you're in the right place.
HOWEVER, since you say that the phone was modded to work on Verizon, there is about 0.001% chance that it is an I9100, since the I9100 is a GSM phone, and Verizon is a CDMA network.
The phone could possibly be an SPH-D710, which is the Sprint GS II, (aka Epic 4g Touch), or maybe an SCH-R760, which is the US Cellular GS II. These are the only two CDMA versions of the Galaxy SII that I know of. If it is one of these, for SURE DO NOT USE any firmwares or kernels from this (I9100) forum.
The Epic 4g Touch has a separate forum, and the SCH-R760 doesn't have a forum on XDA at all, at the moment. But I did find related threads for this model in the Epic 4g Touch forum.
how do i flash my phone
i have a samsung galaxy s2 sch-r760 that i bought on ebay. i was told it was flashed to verizon, but it didnt work. it is currently on u.s. cellular which is cdma plz help

[Q] Samsung S4 I545-L from local carrier

I'm with a local carrier around my area and I have the Galaxy S4 through them. The version they have is the i545-L, which I believe is provided through verizon for the smaller carriers?
If so, can we flash the roms from this section to the phone? Will any root method work?
I only purchased this phone, thinking I could root and rom it, like I did with my epic 4g touch on sprint. It was a great combination! If unable to do so to this amazing phone, I might have to trade it out for the iphone 5s and jailbreak, as it isn't as carrier specific
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Baseband states I545LWWUAMG6
Build states JDQ39.I545LWWUAMG6
It a smaller local company, so im assuming they must have different firmwares then verizon does on these phones? I dont see MDK or ME7 anywhere on it.

Quick ROM question.. Does carrier matter?

Just want to make sure I'm correct here. I have a Galaxy S4 from US Cellular, but obviously there is no forum here for that.
Does it make a difference as far as ROMS go? Can I download for example Avatar ROM from the Verizon forums? Or is it different?
I haven't done this since I had a Fascinate, which I know was the same as the Mesmerize from US Cellular...

you'll need to find a specific ROM made for US Cellular. Otherwise, you'll have a paper weight.
There are only like 3 files different from Verizon to USC. The small user base is why it's "ignored"
I have a build done for all carriers except ATT though. Different but not very...

As far as I know, they are 100% compatible. Many folks rum them on Tmobile. I beleive you other issue is the same as everyone else too.
You will just have to flash away with different modems to find one that works in you area.
I am not the modem master, but I saw this post a couple days ago and still no answer for you.
Flashing the different modems will not hurt you. They either work or they dont.
Good luck. Run a search

Is SM-G900W8 (Bell S5) able to use roms from the T-Mobile section(klte)?

Thanks in advance
i think so are they able to use g900f roms then yes
Anybody actually do this? I have a G900W8, but I'd like to put a T-Mobile ROM on it so I can use their Wifi Calling feature.
But proceeding cautiously. Might have to use a different modem? I don't imagine you can just flash a G900T ROM onto it. But I haven't played with this stuff since I tried a T-Mobile ROM on an ATT i747 years ago on an S3.
From scouring the forums, not finding much in the way of people trying this.
