No, you need to ask the developers, but I highly doubt they will listen
All force-closes create a logcat entry. It would be nice if people would provide the extra information found therein more often...
Ok, reading the post provided, the op sais you need to extract some libs and push them to /system/lib. did you pushed them?

I've tried that and it didn't work. It needs more development or wait until we have a complete functional Kernel and update to the latest Android version available.

"wait until we have a complete functional kernel"....so we don't have a complete functional kernel for GB (2.3.6, like your thread states you have and are looking for help with)? i'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're talking about and clearly haven't read anything. a 30 page thread and countless complaints about fc, no activity since October. go post something like this over in that thread or contact the dev directly. on top of that, the dev's account has been disabled, which pretty much means drop it and move on.
"latest Android version available" - officially for us 2.3.6 rev 145, unofficially 4.2.2 (stable)/4.3 (semi-stable), 4.4 in idk what early stage of dev (contact epinter for update, but not an eta)
I have no idea what i'm talking about? Excuse me ohh allmighty lord who knows everything. I have a question for you. What is the minimum android version required to run BBM? 4.0 right? Do we have that officially? No, so we have to flash custom roms. Maybe he didnt because he wants everything working at 100% and sticks with GB. The dev of BBM for 2.3.6 isnt developing the app anymore so we need yo wait until that app gets to work on GB or wait for a complete and functional kernel for the devs bring to us a fully functional Android ROM based on 4.3-4.4. LEARN to read before treat someone like a stupid 5years old kid.

I don't know if you read the news, that Notion Ink will release and already have released a beta of their Android 2.3.4 for their Adam device..
I have tested it, since its basically based on the 2.6.32.9 kernel we all got, and not the latest nvidia 2.6.36.3 which it should be
anyways its not worth porting at this stage, its unstable and its basically using all the apps from the adam device which i find less interesting after trying the hc 3.0 launcher and widget use, i am not going back to 2.2 soon.
but so you .. i tested it and there is nothing interesting about it.
DerArtem's cm7 release is probably much,much better..
How do you port?

experience is the keyword or "learn by doing"
I know that you can do it, but I ask you to tell what you change when you port(usually things, not specific), what files do you add, delete, change and what you must change to ported system work(Guide, HowTo or shortly explain) ?

thats no task to explain in a thread..
its all about knowledge and understanding the os, how android loads, and works in general and the more you change, the more you learn..
so "learn by doing" is not = you know i can do it, but a saying when you need to learn how to work with something and its DIY mostly.
I want to learn. Do you know good sites, books or how and from what did you learn?
Is there a chance That Someone with appropriate qualifications prepare for us a version 3.2 for the Folio?
in the forum of Vega They did a version of Vegacomb 3.2 Build 6.

Just google for "dexter folio". First hit is dexters homepage. You will find a link to his current support forum there... He is not inactive, just moved somewhere else.
@Jon2555: I am not working on a 3.2 port. I don't know much about porting (this is basically the reason why i have not answered your pm yet, sorry). I prefer android versions that can be compiled from source.
I know that you don't work on 3.2 version but you have some skills and android 4.0 will open source and you'll can compile it. We're hoping

What about this update?
Something better?
I used Folio3x before, but too slow for everyday use.
Poor graphic performances.
Functioning quite well. Especially those who suffered from the button crazy.
Neutralize the buttons on the right side and only use the buttons HC.
Moved to proper forum.
are there any developers out there creating roms for this? It would nice to have a kernel at least, i know there is one out but its only for the european version. We need developers!!
I got the time for it but not the brain for it im best at testing roms
Doesn't seem that anyone's developing ROMs at the moment, although some are trying. I think first we need to get a recovery working such as Clockworkmod so we can flash the ROMs to the device.
I just got my player a few days ago, but I've been doing some research on how to port CWM to new devices and hopefully something will come to fruition. I'm not a programmer by any means, but I know linux pretty well so hopefully I'll be able to put something together.
Does someone know where there is documentation on how to install new ROMs using Linux? I don't have windows or Mac.
I'm trying to install 2.3.5:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389809
I believe the instructions are in the android developers kit, so I'll go there next unless someone has a quick pointer.
Thanks,
Daniel
I think the only way currently is with the software samsung gives you, but I might be wrong. Mine came with 2.3.5 on it - I'm using linux mint but haven't had a need to figure it out.
Some people over in the Android Development thread are working on it from what I hear. CM9 here I come!

Can you show us the link from where you read it please?
This is a call out to all existing and future developers of Xperia MDPI Devices.
For about a month now there is an app called Update Me Smartphone, which basically gives OTA update functionality for our Custom Roms.
From 01/05/2012 the developer of this app has given it a very interesting feature. You can view all Roms compatible with the Update Me Smartphone application. Even though you get a list a bunch of irrelevant devices, I suppose if we all "help" him with our suggestions he can make an application that will be on par with the Rom Manager app for devices that are fully supported by CWM.
To make this as simple as possible....
User "A" wants to download a new Rom for his Xperia MDPI Device. He has already downloaded and flashed a custom kernel (whether this is a Stock Kernel, or a CM kernel), then proceeds to download the app, install it and browse any compatible Rom's with his device... From then on his device will stay updated, through the Update Me application providing OTA updates of the Rom he has installed. If he wished to download another rom (compatible with the kernel he has - there are 3 Different Kernels AFAIK: GB CM, ICS CM, GB-ICS Stock Sony Kernel) he will just proceed to download the latest version of the rom he has selected straight to his device. No need to download to your computer, then connect the device, then copy it, then flash it. If you have the compatible kernel already installed, then its easy as pie.
Please let me know of your thoughts on this...
Edit: Link to the application's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590170
Edit 2: Apart from Rom's we can also implement various mods, tweaks, fixes, etc for our devices. Even though that would be extremely hard, due to the fact that all these files need to be stored in a direct download location like Dropbox, its is a viable option.
OMG I love the idea, that would be awesome!!
It's very interesting, thanks a lot for the info I will try it!
Some modification: In GB we have 3 different kernel (Stock Based, CM Based, MIUI Based [not released yet]). In ICS we don't have Stock based to Xperia MDPI, because Sony don't released yet the stock for us. So we have CM9 based, AOSP based (it's work with CM9 ROMs btw), and ported Stock based.
Some another notice: I saw a lot of thread (not only in this forum), but sooo many people trying to make ROMs. It's not a problem, but some guy don't know some full minimum things... So who will help this guys to add this app to their ROMs?
Are you using a different Kernel for the Sony ICS rom port? I mean the Ramdisk is the same size and you're using the same zImage from a stock GB rom correct?
Well nobody is forced to do this. All we have to do is provide the app developer a link with the update_me_check.xml so that he will sort of add a link for that in the application.
By the way, i now got my goo.im account, and this have own OTA app. I will try it, and I will report.
But I know, this is not only OTA app... Hmm... I need to think in it
So the only developer checking the thread is Expeacer?
Ok...

I also read quite a lot of topics, but I don't respond in every topic.
"The G2 Dream Team" (and they well deserve that name) has released not one, but TWO lollipop builds for the LG G2. Both ROMs are based on the same build tree, but one ROM is CM12 and the other is a LiquidSmooth 4.0 ROM. Despite being built from the same build tree, they carry different features. They are stable and usable for daily drivers, but they may carry some bugs, like a non-functional video playback, NFC issues for LS/VS980 but it should all be sorted out in the near future. Head over to the threads to read more!:

Older posts:
An increasing amount of devices have been receiving unofficial Android Lollipop 5.0 ports, like the HTC One M8 and the LG Optimus L9. Today another device can be added to the list of phones receiving a treatment with the taste of Android Lollipop, the LG G2. While there generally has been a wide contribution from the community; testing, sharing files and giving ideas, two XDA members stood out in particular in order to create the build, @ylukasy and @InfinitusDesigner. The port is still in a very early pre-alpha stage, and the bugs are barely known yet, but the ROM boots and has even been rooted! While it might be wisest to wait until an official thread has been made before grabbing your devices and start flashing, @ylukasy has already provided a download link for the ROM, and calls for people to help discover the bugs so that they can be eliminated. Please notice that the ROM might not be stable enough to be used as a daily driver, but owners of a LG G2 are officially an important step closer to having a stable Lollipop ROM!
If this post caught your interest and you're willing to take the risk, head over to the last pages in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/unofficial-cm12-nexus-5-posted-t2936398
As previously mentioned, a lot of things are not sorted out yet, and the build might not be for your device number, so make sure you read the entire thread before continuing, or simply wait untill an official thread is made.
Update:
An official thread has been posted and it can be found by following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-android-lollipop-fast-clean-t2941922
The build is a port of the Nexus 5 ROM, and users of the ROM have been saying that the rom is very fast and fluid, calls work, camera works (although the quality is inferior), but other users have been reporting random reboots and incompatibilities with certain apps such as YouTube or WhatsApp.

This post will be updated regularly when new information regarding Lollipop ports surface.
Fantastic News! Will get round to trying it shortly, thanks for the link!
While I have my doubts about it being functional (or even booting) on my LS980, I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
Nice to see things moving at breakneck speeds these days.
On a side note, I just read the AnandTech review of the Nexus 6 and am happy to report that my well over a year old G2 beats it in several benchmarks so I'm pretty satisfied at the moment, especially considering I got it for free. I mean really...
In before "no build for xxxx?!?!?!?"
Anyone know how to port a d802 rom to d800?
Ready to try it out and see what happened..??
his build is from the same source the other was he doesn't deserve credit for it. it's using cm12 kernel and dev claims it's using nexus 5 port yet requires gapps and no signs of any nexus 5 code at all.
Wouldn't it be alot easier to just post the download link here?

It's not my work, and there are some steps which must be followed in order to make it work. I am just objectively informing any news regarding Android Lollipop for the LG G2.
OP has been updated.

Can anyone port the Nexus 5 ROM?
Updating this thread later today if nothing gets in the way.
Hi everybody!!
I need a tester please:
I built pure AOSP for the D802 from sources of Android right now, has anybody time to test it?
It is an experimental build and I didn't test it right now, so I don't know if it is working, please make a backup from your current rom.
The build comes with an built in CWM recovery and should be with root access. It can be flashed with the same instructions like the CM 12 build.
Edit: Bootloop right now ... Anybody, can you take a logcat?
http://builds.hubdroid.com/otherroms/aosp_d802-ota-102.zip
Thank you in advance!! Please anybody who tries it: can you send me a pm?

I'd love to test this for you, but I'm on Sprint LS980 Would you mind making a build for us?

Yes sure, but right now, I have to solve the bug, that the d802 wouldnt boot, so this may take some more time until I build it for other devices too.
