If you are flashing Kitkat based custom roms, you need the newer recovery images.

That's what happens when you fail to read. That is an old recovery which does not support kitkat roms. You will need the newer philz cwm recovery or the ones mentioned in my signature to flash kitkat based ROMs like cm, pa, PAC, aokp etc...

sorry, where is the link of philz or your recovery?
Check original development section for philz recovery. My links for my recoveries are available in my signature. Just choose the recoveries folder after you click the downloads link.

Flash latest recovery...2.6.3.x twrp
Cwm 6.0.4.4 or above
Philz 6.0.0.8 or above..
You can find zip or tar files in android development and original android development threads... Just flash those in yours present recovery and then flash through your new recovery...

Thanks i found Philz 6.07.9..
And now it worked ...
I was using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290468 rom.
Now while trying to install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2580489
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
Both give status 7 error while in cwm recovery
older roms such as rootbox v3.7.1 and jellybam v6.0.0 are installing fine.
Are the above stated roms not suitable for sgs2 i9100i
Probably you should first read the instructions before starting to flash ...
You need CWM recovery > 6.0.4.x otherwise it will not flash.

Hi all,
I can install cm 10.2 and all is well, but when I try to install cm 11 it fails every time.
I'm trying to install from recovery or the cm update OTA update feature.
The error reads set__metadata_recursive; some changes failed.
e: error in sdcard/0/cmupdater/cm-11-20140308-snapshot-m4-dlx.zip
Thanks!
Which recovery are you using? For 4.4 you need the latest cwm, Twrp, or phillz recovery to work. Any older versions will not flash 4.4 roms as the recovery cannot do selinux

hey guys as the title says,
i m running spirit rom 4.4.4 on my sgs2 i9100 i want to downgrade to jellybean, MIUI.
so what i want is to know how to do that ?
i searched and found out that i must flash philz cwm recovery.
but i dont know which recovery to flash
please provide me the link or the file.
thanks in advance
Its not mandatory to have philz recovery installed.
Boot into current recovery
Do a full wipe (must)
Flash any jb ROM
Reboot
Anyways if you want philz.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lz-cwm6-stock-kernel-cwm6-root-exfat-t1877270

I would always flash a JB kernel before installing a JB rom. This is because to remove any incompatibilities between the rom and the kernel. Unless the JB rom already comes with a JB kernel, then you should still do this.
