found this case online today. Anyone had a ballistic brand case before? Looks pretty nice! It also has the 3 holes like the Tough Case by Case Mate.

No unfortunately...There are not too many cases that You can find in white for the amaze, your best bet is ebay or amazon...the brand name ones seem to like black!!
I just got my Amaze the other day so I've been doing some homework before I go out and buy some accessories

This case has holes for the ones in the battery cover and its built like an otterbox. thats one + id like to see a in person photo though
I have it. Seems to feel just like a trident case in terms of the rubber material. The plastic part isn't as secure as I want it to be, and it feels like it'll be easily dislodged when dropped.
Overall, it's a good 2 piece case. I'm going to have to order the trident kraken when it comes in black and see how well it holds up compared to this one.
I have this case as their does not seem to be an otterbox yet.
If you don't like bulk this case is not for you.
Its pretty well designed and seems very rugged. The back is to smooth does not grab on surfaces well bit not as smooth as a regular hard abs case.
I like the rugged look and I like the "design".
However, the fitment is less than perfect.
The abs shell seems to pop off slightly in the bottom. The fit between the silcone case and the shell is not very good.
If you don't mind spending 25$ its not bad. Needs a redesign to make it worth it. Also black is only color. Which I like.
Have not done a drop test yet and hopefully I never will but I think this case will do a great job protecting and absorbing impact.
If this case was truly engineered the right way the outer case SHOULD come off when dropped to disperse the energy of the impact better.
Could be the reason for the weird flaw on my left corner that keeps wanting to slighltly pop off once in a while.

I get the same fitment issues. One thing for sure, you can drop it at about 6' height with no problem, I think the hard shell has that much flex room to help absorb hits on the side. Unfortunately it makes the shell feel flimsy and loose around the edges.

So is the plastic piece being loose super annoying or can it be lived with? I would realy like to get this case.
It's only annoying if you have ocd like me, lol. It's really not that bad, I still like this case.

Bringing up an older thread...
I just got this case from Amazon. So far it's one of the best I have found. It was a lot cheaper on Amazon than the mall (by about $20). I only wish it had a belt clip or something.
But so far, so good... I like how it looks.
I got this case and it fits perfectly, have no idea about the fitting problems others are having. It is thick, which is actually great if you have larger hands as it makes texting earier. Also has decent grip, unlike the plastic cases that feel like they're going to shoot out of your hand.

I got mines from amazon too. Great case. Adds some bulk but I like it. I have dropped it a few times and protects like a champ. Built like a tank.

Huge fan of this case. I had purchased an Incipio case before this and was not very happy with it. This case has a nice lip on the front side to protect the screen is very durable.
I just got this case today which is replacing my Incipio which I broke. The case fits perfectly, no issues with fit or finish at all.
The only thing I don't like about it is the slippery grip. I wish the sides were a bit tackier.
d30
i have a d30 n i got to say this this is amazing i drop my phone often (do to chasing a 11 month old
all i can really say is 30 drops and counting and not even a scratch
I own this case and really love this for my Amaze!
My case mate case for the galaxy note finally shipped and I have to say the case feels amazing in my hands, it also keeps the thin feeling of the phone. It feels extremely durable as well. One thing though the case was so god damn hard to put on i was afraid I'd break the volume rocker. Otherwise I extremely recommend this case and ill post pictures soon enough!!

I had one of these for my Inspire. I liked the feeling of the plastic as it gave some good grip but I hated the rubber portion. It collected everything including lint and it was way to tacky.
Which Case Mate is that? How does it go? Is the first layer silicone and the outer lay plastic?
Right now I have the Reiko Hybrid case -- very durable, but very heavy and thick. I'm debating getting the Case Mate, Ballistic, or Trident.

How's the weight/thickness compared to the Reiko Hybrid? Considering it was only $9.00, I got it as more of an in-between "holder" to wait off for the better companies.
I just ordered one of these coming in a couple days
Hit thanks if you like it.

Its extreemly light as if almost the case isn't there but enough to tell there's weight added. $40 is pricey but considering the quality, look and overall feel id probably choose between this and seido! The seido case looks nice i hope somebody posts a review soon

I was hoping this would be the last case I bought for my gNote. I found the Case-Mate Tough on sale on Amazon for $17.99 (free shipping) way better than the $40 retail!
My gNote is not insured so I wanted a case that would provide a good degree of protection without adding too much bulk. I felt this case would meet this need. It has a good grip and solid construction.
My only gripe is the the silicon is not tight on the edge on the top and bottom! Ugg! The hard shell does not hold the inner silicon in place on the top and bottom, the way it does on the sides. When pulling the phone out of my pocket the lose silicone drags/clings. So I think this action may make the silicone baggy/loser over time.

Comments about loose fitting silicone and the pics showing it to be a dust magnet are disappointing. I was really hoping this would do the trick. I have the Reiko Hybrid case. It's protective but it's a monster.
Now that the Candyshell case AT&T wanted $40 for is in the low $20's, I may be revisiting that. I still don't like the glossy back's scratch magnet aspects but its slim and the silicone (TPU?) layer holds tight to the surface of the phone.
I fixed the loose silicone on top and bottom with some double sided sticky tape. Works like a charm!
Now that I have had a chance to use it for a week or so, I have to agree with the OP. It feels very good in the hand and totally secure.

You just need a case to protect your case....I buy a case for protection not to look good. Imagine if all them scratches were on your phone. Your case did it's job.

^ agreed. Case did it's job, but it's always the glossy plastic ones that have the noticeable scratches. That's why I always get matte black cases...
That case is notorious for scratching. But like everyone else has said, better the case than your phone.
My only issue with this case is that it tends to want to lift the edges of my zagg screen protector.

A cheap mod you can do to your speck is to sand it down. Will give you a even unfinished black look.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Just got the same one for $16. So far pretty happy with it. Not a huge fan of the gloss finish or the rounded edges, but a squared off look would probably be too bulky. Big fan of the casemate I had on the s2. Maybe they'll come out with something soon. I'd prefer white as well.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
People bought the Speck cases from AT&T because its the only case they had out at that time. The case is trash. Rips easily. But I heard that if you got it at a corporate at&t store...they will replace it if it has rips or certain damages. Thats what the sales rep told me the first day it was launched. Anyways I ended up not getting it due to it being really glossy.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
already had mine replaced once. 2 weeks later and I have another rip. Wonder if I can get my money back.
I wasn't a fan of the case either. I get a discount on the accessories so it didn't hit my wallet as bad as most but to me, it offers better protection than the active seidio case I bought. I need to have a holster for my phone so being the speck fit in the active holster I'm using that. I was looking at some of the TPU cases but I'm hoping for the surface case to be made for the Note. My Zagg protector hasn't had an issue but I don't ever take the case off.
candy shell COMPATIBLE with SEIDIO HOLSTER?!

Came home with my new white Galaxy Note just 5 days ago - along with the only available case - whilte speck candy shell. As a female who hates to carry a handbag while running errands, I have been looking for a reliable, not-too-bulky & safe holster to remain hands-free. To clarify: your Speck candy shell will fit comfortably into the Seidio holster?? You may have solved my problem....!!!!

Yes, the Speck case fits the active holster PERFECTLY. I had an issue with the soft rubber on Seidio Active case peeling back when I snapped it into the holster so I put the Speck back on and it fits just as good if not better then the Seidio case.
Didn't have any problems with the speck. No tearing or anything other than normal wear. Protects better than the stupid trident case I bought. The trident corners want to slip off, and I barely trust it. It's survived drops though.
Any case is better than none.

The Speck case scratches extremely easily, but I haven't noticed any problem with durability, and I think it gives great protection. It's definitely not worth the full list price, though.

i know, i already have a case but i am thinking of getting a smaller one, wanted to see what everyone elses view on it was!
I use a cover for my phone, the glass is Gorilla Glass so it should not scratch.
I am very happy with my case.
Yup

case makes the phone fat so no
TC tpu case, 3 bucks on Amazon, USB and headphone Jack holes trimmed wide to accommodate a variety of plugs. armorsuit screen protector (think that was about 3 bucks too). Had both since phone was a week old, roughly October 10 or so. Minimal increase in phone size, with decent protection. I work in construction, so naked isn't a safe option for my phone...
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
you can buy cases that are real slim and don't really add much to the phone. it still protects it. highly recommended!
I'm a huge fan of this. It's more expensive than a lot of cases, but you're buying two cases: a TPU (I think? some sort of rubberish material) skin, and a hard plastic shock-resistant outer shell. It also comes with two screen protectors, and has all of the cutouts (as well as incorporating dust covers for the speakers) for this phone. It's incredibly durable, and at $30 it's a pretty good value if you dig it.
http://www.amazon.com/Trident-AMS-S...TCHG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1334204736&sr=8-2
Oh, and if you don't care for black, it comes in four other colors - which also determines the color of the underlying soft case.
I hate cases. Was shattering the glass on my previous iPhones constantly because of it and the fact that I am clumsy as sh$t. That being said I bought the case mate barely there case and it is great. I highly recommend it for being slim and protected. Really doesnt add bulk at all and have dropped this phone many times without a scratch. Good buy I suggest it for anyone who doesn't like bulky cases

I love Zagg's full body cases. If you don't want a bulky case zagg is the best cuz its really like a full body screen protector. They're expensive but they replace them without a problem if you have any problems
Otterbox can be a bit bulky, but it's tired and true (I'm using the Commuter version). I like having a phone with a bit more heft to it so I know nothing will happen when I inevitably drop it. Cut outs are pretty much perfect, with flaps to cover ports and keep out dust. Corners can attract lint, and my biggest gripe with it would be how hard it is to get on and off (it's a problem for taking out SIM card), but I never have cause to take it off very often anyway. I really like it thought, there's my 2 cents.
I'm using the otterbox commuter. I love it!!

I hate using a case but I rather have it on "just in case". I absolutly love the lightness and overall feel of the SGS2 naked
Wife and I are using the official galaxy s2 mesh case. Not much protection but the buttons aren't covered and it keeps the camera off the counter. All we really need with almost no bulk added

Getting mine later today can't wait
Received mine today and it's a really nice case. It's not quite as snug as the Tudia Melody case (which is pretty nice for the price) so I suspect that one of the thicker screen protectors would like fit nicely and make the case a bit tighter.
The Bounce has a really nice feel to it, although it's quite a bit more slick than the Melody. The Melody has a more supple texture to it around the edges, making it a bit easier to grip.
As far as looks, the Bounce easily beats the Melody. It has very sleek, modern look to it.
Tudia Ultra Slim Melody case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F3U7DC0/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
just got mine also, Ordered on the Oct 20 from main company website (to Canada paid premium shipping to guarantee no custom charges). I got combo with glas t slim (not r) and all seems well. I was under the impression that the glas had individual cutouts for sensors and camera but it is a single opening for ear speaker and sensors. No opening for camera. I think I just got confused. Grey bounce with orange button. I really found the phone just way too slim and the beveled edges of the bounce help to fix that. Still I think a monster battery is in my future. Overall nice purchase and better/easier to grab and go. Just put the glas and protector on so haven't used it yet, but just the front lip makes it much nicer to handle. Love the side buttons.
Just got my bounce case, feel very solid and the side buttons are very smartly designed. Highly recommend, they should produce more colors to choose from.
