So, i've got and s4 and monster betas tour headphones, microphone and play pause bottoun work perfectly, but volume control seems working only on my sister's iphone, is there a way to make it work on android?

Hello there,
Now I'm not a beats user however I looked at some pictures. If the volume buttons are touch sensitive then this could be the problem.
Or since it worked on the iPhone, it maybe compatibility issues. If it does not work on a stock rom (Galaxy S4) then try installing a custom rom. Some custom roms have special audio drivers that MAY make it work.

Tried more than 10 custom rom, from aosp to sense to cm aokp and other, but no one make it work
This is an issue with headphones made for an iPhone. They use a different band layout. Mine have never worked and won't. After hours troubleshooting it, this was the answer I got from beats and apple

Hi guys, I've had my Hero about a year now. The other day, all of a sudden my speaker seemed to stop working. I thought, oh great, it's a hardware bust. I then tried a call and the sound came out fine. That is the only sound working. Everything works with my earphones plugged in. Any advice?

It could be something wrong with your media volume? I know when you plug in headphones there is a different volume setting? Try a sound volume manager like audio manager .. there is different
Does the problem replicate itself on different roms. etc.. also what rom are you using.

Unfortunately I know it is not down to a volume problem because also the ringer volume does not make any sounds.
I am currently on an ancient Floyo ROM as I haven't been able to flash over the last few months. I'm currently waiting for a Froyo Sense with working camera or a reasonably stable GingerBread ROM.
Did you test a handsfree calling? Try making a call and enabling mobile speaker (there should be an option pressing menu button while you are calling).
HTC Hero, as many mobile phones, has two different speakers, one in the back used to play music and loud sounds, and another one on the front to make calls. I think your back speaker is not working and that's why you can't hear anything except voice when you call.

I've tried some AOSP/CM9 roms, but all of them don't work with my car's Bluetooth (for phone and audio) as fully as the Samsung-based roms. Specifically, the music info doesn't display on the nav screen. It's a small issue, I know, but I quite like seeing what song is playing on the nav screen as I'm driving.
Does anyone know if this works on any specific AOSP/CM9 rom or what it would take to make it work?
That's a limitation of CM9 Roms,
If you want BT and/or dock audio, go back to Touchwiz based roms.

Yes, I've been on a UCLE2-based rom for almost as long as I've had the Note. I was just asking about it to determine if I should try any of the other AOSP/CM9 roms that are available.
If it was already known what it took to make CM9 roms output audio via BT, there'd be a rom on the front page of the dev forum using working BT audio in the thread title.
Try the AOKP/Paranoid mashup ROM KingKang by DAGr8. This one is the only ICS ROM that seems to have functional phone & music streaming with my car. It's also the first ROM on my Note where Mp3 tags work. I'm using PowerAmp with ScrobbleDroid in a 2012 Outback.
What's weird is that phone & audio streaming has worked great with my Samsung HS3000 BT headset but the car has more problems. Go figure.

Well that's the thing... the audio plays fine over BT and I can go to the next or previous song with the car's controls with the AOSP/CM9 roms I've tried out on the Note. It's just the song info that doesn't display on the nav screen.

Working for me. See my post above. Scrobbling was key to making it work with PowerAmp.
hi whenever im listening to spotify i can stop and play with no problems with my headphone button. the skip next track by double clicking works as well but its calling my last called number at the same time. does anybody here know how to disable the call feature on it? i tried it on a couple of friends one x's one worked fine the other called at the same time as well.

Wish we can find a fix for this. Also seems the volume buttons on a stereo headset do nothing!!! So as of right now if you want to change tracks or adjust volume while using and Bluetooth or wired stereo headset which has all the buttons on it, you have to pull this device out of your pocket and do it all manually on the device. Which makes my $150 headset useless as of right now. Anyone finding or developing a fix for this?

Not really true: My Sony MW1 BT headset works perfect... I would say the same about all headsets with dedicated buttons. Tried the urBeats for HTC at a store, works without any problems. But you don't have volume control on this one...

Bro, 4.2 has been out for what, 48hrs? Lol, hold your horses for our update and from the few using it they say its buggy and not as stable or good as JB 4.1. No rush here for a buggy OS.
I think it might be a Sense problem with the headset controls. Weird the other poster said it worked for him and his headset, must have a magical headset? I have these earbuds, http://www.bose.com/controller?url=..._ear_headphones/index.jsp&model=mie2i_headset and only control that works is to pause and play the track, that's it. They have this version of the same earbuds, http://www.bose.com/controller?url=...n_ear_headphones/index.jsp&model=mie2_headset specifically for Android devices so maybe this is why it doesn't fully work for me? Still doesn't seem very likely. So it seems that when I install any of the AOSP roms "unofficial cm, infection, tron" the speaker audio does not work. For anything. Notifications, videos, speaker phone, anything. Obviously Im the only person who has this problem but does anybody have any idea how to fix this annoyance. Audio works fine on Sense based roms weirdly enough.

You know, ive had this issue on one of my roms, its a bug that is bugging me lol. But my MIUI rom, it doesnt register until you bring the volume to max and then adjust it from there. You only need to do this the first time..if you go into the sound setting and max out all sound and then adjust them to where you want. Not sure if it will work for you, but thats the work around in my rom

Bump. Still no solution. Tried a bunch of different roms and even what was suggested. But nothing seems to get the sound to work on AOSP roms. I really hate sense and want to get rid of it. Im going to try and reinstall the ruu and start clean. Maybe that will fix something.
When you attempt to play something the speaker sounds like its trying to play. sometimes popping or even really soft static sound. Again this is only when on AOSP roms.
Weirdly enough. Rage 1.9.6 (4.0.4 cm based) works with sound but not the newer roms. Any Ideas?

4.03.605.1 with jb hboot. S-off. Tried on all 3 major recoverys
Meaning I have to have it within a foot of me or I can't hear it.
I'm rooted with the xposed HDX tool and everything works fine, just the speaker volume is so low I have trouble hearing on the nightstand in a quiet room.
I tried various music players, including Viper for Android, all the same. Viper had no effect at all.
Any help or suggestions would make me very grateful!

try installing gravity box for jb from xposed, most things wont work since it is intended for use with vanila android but some of the media tweaks might work for you. they did on my 7"
