What ROM do you use? I recomend you use shostock3 v4, with jeboo kernel for me this rom and this kernel are the best combination to save battery.

Before changing rom's, you need to install Better Battery Stats and find out exactly what's draining so much. Chances are if it's a rouge app and you inadvertently re install it on a new rom, you'll continue to have the same issues. Best to find the current cause before taking drastic measures.

Mine did this. Media sever was running wild. Check if that is the cause.

i was using shostock3 v4 itself with AJK kernel. flashed jeboo kernel and it turned out fine. BTW no apps was eating battery..looked like kernel problem to me...its SOLVED for now. thx guys

Hey guys this is what happens to my phone quite often is it even normal? Im using androidmeda rom and got kg1 baseband. Thx for comments and possible solutions in the mean of telling me that if u use the same rom which basedeband u use

No its not normal. It should gradually creep down not that steep drop. KI8 battery life is great... Among the other benefits. Someone with more knowledge may be able to explain whats causing that sudden drop. May be a faulty battery.

Man that is savage battery drain. Try something like smaberg's KI8 Rom with siyah kernel, I'm getting amazing battery life with that combination. Siyah also has some good advice on improving battery life.

Did you wipe your battery stats when flashing the ROM? If not, boot to CWM, wipe battery stats, charge to 100% and then drain that battery.
Goin to try that battery reset.
UPDATE: So I did battery reset but the phone has gone crazy. It suddenly started to automaticly switch to flight mode when I turn the screen on

please someone give me some advice on how to solve this problem. I mean after a full wiped flash the phone still not able to sleep properly?
I'm currently using Darkside 3.2.0, faux latest kernel...
10% over 7 hours, ~1.5% per hour, looks like good battery life to me?

Thats exactly what I was thinking
Don't be concerned about wake locks if you get awesome battery life

are your radios updated ?

First of all thanks for the replies.
I know its not the worse possible battery drain, however data was off last night as I wanted to c if my phone actually goes to sleep.
my other android phone drained maybe 2% overnight with data off, so 10% seems a lot to me...
I have an international ATRIX and m using the latest radio (100.00 something like this) and no matter which rom I flash (aura cm7, and now darkside) the phone just stays awake.
With light use it lasts a day, but ideally 2 days is what im looking for!
Thanks for reading guys

No Deep Sleep but awesome battery life

So the subject really says it all. No Deep Sleep via CPU Spy but averaging 18 hours of use.

I noticed mine wasn't doing a deep sleep at work today, which i attributed to poor signal there. I disabled mobile data and that didn't help. I then rebooted and then it went into deep sleep just fine.
So i must have an app installed that is running in the background doing it. I must rooted today and froze all bloatware, so I'll know tomorrow if it was one of those apps. If the issue still occurs, i will kill apps one at a time until i find the offender.
Try rebooting your phone, reset timers in cpuspy, and then see if it sleeps.
Some skyrockets had a tendency to do this as well. Odd.

My battery life is for some reason very bad. I'm able to completely empty it in a matter of hour just with moderate usage... I had this problem before, solved it with Nandroid restore...
Now I'm running CM9 nightly (1/july/2012) with Siyah 3.3.2. When I disconnect it from charger, it almost immediately starts to empty.
I've tried to wipe battery stats and resetting fuel gauge chip when on 100%, but to no avail...
Can anyone help me?

Anyone?
Try flashing a different kernel but tbh it shouldn't drop that fast... Have you tried using a different battery?

Well, do you have experience with other kernels like Fluxxi or Dorimanx? Maybe it would be better with one of those...
And I havent tried a different battery because I dont have a spare one.

I said that in the first post.

First, you may install Betterbatterystats, so it's easier to understand apk consume battery in the background.
Then you may install the new kernel siayh, the 3.4.1, it seems more parsimonious.
Finally install EXtweaks, excellent utility to set various parameters of the kernel.

[Q] Does Perseus kernel give a better battery life?

I'm currently running Omega V43.2 on my phone and it works like a charm (No lag). Average battery life is 1 day and 2/3 hours on screen. I'm thinking that changing the stock kernel to Perseus may help improve my battery life but wonder if Perseus kernel really does the magic. Some advice is much needed thanks
+1
If you leave default settings, yeah.
If you optimize it even more for battery life, then heck yeah.
If you configure it incorrectly / aggressively for performance - you may actually reduce it.

thanks maybe i should try it out.
Battery life depends on your signal strength, data transfer, running apps and usage scenario.
For my usage, 3hours is pretty good, others have far more
