Hey Guys,
I had rooted my phone a few months ago and installed slim rom with cyanogen mod 10. Everything was good until the latest update slim rom released for T959, which is 4.3.2. I had downloaded the previous, 4.3.1 update and followed the instructions on installing that and it worked perfectly. However, after I downloaded the recent update 4.3.2, I again followed the same instructions, but this time while in recovery mode, it would return back to the list of folders when I selected the downloads folder (which is where I had downloaded the update file to). I tried it multiple times, but the cyanogen log would just say "No Files". I had unfortunately already done these before I went to the downloads folder,
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe dalvik cache
3. wipe cache partition
Now since the downloads folder apparently didn't have anything, I ended up rebooting and the phone has since been stuck on the Samsung Vibrant logo screen. None of the key combinations for recovery or download mode would work and all the combinations would only show the logo screen and be there. I got the USB jig that puts the phone in download mode and this works. But my laptop (windows and linux) won't detect the phone when plugged in, either in download mode or when it's on the logo screen. I have used different USB cables, different USB ports, different batteries, even. I have a USB mouse that is detected irrespective of the USB port that I plug it into, but the phone won't get detected at all. Neither Odin nor Heimdall detect the phone.
I have tried every possible solution offered on the internet, including xda forums. I have installed, rebooted, uninstalled, rebooted, cleaned registry, reinstalled the Samsung USB drivers, but my phone just won't get detected. There is no popup on windows to indicate anything was plugged in, although this works for the USB mouse. I'm beginning to think the internal sdcard is not working or something..?
I love this phone. Have had it since it released and only now has it given me a problem.
Please help! Thanks in advance!
P.S: Not sure if this could be the cause, but I accidentally left my phone in my jacket and it went through the first wash cycle, after which I took it out and left it drying with all parts removed for over 24 hours and plugged it in. It worked perfectly for almost a month and would still have worked if not for my decision to update!

I'll tell the whole story so you can see how I got to where I was. jump to the end:
-Running bionix 1.3.1 used rom manager to get the new cm7.1.01. Backed up my rom.
-Google apps didn't install (even though I clicked it in rom manager) so I installed gapps through rom manager.
-Gapps installed but couldn't download anything from the appstore Error. I tried many things for a day and decided to restore my old rom with rom manager.
-Vibrant screen for over an hour. Rebooted into download mode and tried to go back to stock (T959UVJI6) with odin.
-Odin had been stuck at "File analysis.." for about 30 minutes so I decided to reboot my phone (this may have been a mistake?).
-When I rebooted it, it was in softbricked mode (phone ! computer).
-I've spent the better part of the day trying different hold and vol+power release power second black screen. (Exhausted forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/6998-howto-recover-from-a-soft-brick-on-your-vibrant/)
-adb can't find the device (although it does show up in odin when I plug it in). Droid explorer can't find the device either.
Am I out of options? I live in canada so I can't just go to a t-mobile store and play stupid.
Thanks, hopefully something comes up that searching hasn't uncovered.
Tried this?

Doing the jig method right now didn't have three 100kohm lying around so I tried 220 and 320 but those didn't work. I'll try 300 tomorrow.
Jig is for phone to go into download mode. your phone is already recognized by odin when you plug it in right? then you don't need a jig. Just try to flash jfd again. you can even Odin it from phone computer screen if Odin recognizes your phone.

Persistence paid off, not sure if it was trying different roms different usb ports or reinstalling drivers but eventually odin worked. I would say that there isn't enough people saying the the computer ! phone doesn't mean soft bricked. That it could still be in download mode. Thanks.
A while back I unsuccessfully tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S3.
The phone still worked OK, rebooted fine, etc., was using it for months.
Just recently though I decided to factory reset so I can give my phone to a family member, and this happened (see pics below ). Now it just hangs on T-Mobile screen and never boots at all.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to flash the default factory image back on there.
This is with T-Mobile in case that matters.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE:
I located this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3
Also tried downloading this driver:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-T999ZWATMB
The problem right now is neither ODIN nor ADB sees my device. I have the device in "Downloading" mode (boot power down key, home ,power button).
Also tried the up-volume boot and adb side load.
Uninstall all Samsung drivers, reboot, and install Samsung Kies. This will setup the drivers you need, then you can use Odin to restore. If this doesn't work, try different cables, ports, or another computer. Check in Device Manager to see which driver is loading and manually switch if needed.
PS. You're not going to be able to communicate with the phone via adb without it booted and USB Debugging enabled or with a custom recovery that you're booted into.
Hello, first thing, sorry if i dont make sense, i am still learning the language.
Ive been searching the forum but i could not find an answer to this problem. I checked a few guides here about how to return my phone to stock (Verizon vs985 0817 ?). Well, this is what happened:
1) Yesterday my phone turned off, no idea what happened. After that, it was locked in a boot loop.
2) First thing i tried, LG pc suite, but it did not recognize the phone, it was restarting a lot.
3) After that, i see in a post about doing a factory reset, i did it but nothing changed.
4) I found a guide to reinstall the firmware on this site (ive done that with 2 samsung tablets i have and i did not have any trouble).
5) Next step was wiping cache, installing LG dll's on my computer and tried to install a firmware with LGflashtool2014 (VS98547A_01_0314_ARB01.kdz).
6) The phone started the update and stopped around 23%, the application lost communication with the device (nothing was touched or moved).
7) The phone then entered into download mode (firmware screen) even if i turn on the phone normally (no volume up).
8) TL; DR; HERE IS THE REAL PROBLEM: When i turn on the phone i see the firmware update screen, then after a few secs, 13-15 the screen turn off again. Even if i try to reinstall another firmware, I get the pop up message about losing communication with the device.
Things i tried:
Another battery (original one was about 88%)
3 different cables.
Tested on 3 Usb ports (3.0 and 2.0)
Reinstalled usb drivers, nothing.
Changed port to com41 (was reading about it on another post).
Wiped cache again, factory again.
Am I really out of options?
Hello guys, i come to you with a problem with my phone. I've a Samsung J7 Prime SM-G610M/DS with Stock ROM.
Everything started when a new update came to install like a week ago. It downloaded it correctly and started update process.
In the middle of it, it ran out of battery.. So it began..
1) The phone is practicaly not charging. If i plug it to an USB port or directly to the wall, charges like 6% every 24 hours. Sometimes it doesn't charge at all. Note: whenever i plug it, the battery-charging animation does not work properly. Just turns the battery icon with the lightning in it and then turns off the screen, not showing battery percentage or animation whatsoever. Battery is non removable and tried cleaning charge port.
2) If i put it on Download Mode, computer doesn't recognize it. It is not a drivers issue. I've another Samsung J7 Prime and it connects correctly. I must discard everything Odin-related.
3) In recovery mode, i've emptied cache and did several factory resets with no luck. If i turn it in a regular way, it tries to apply some update but changes to "No command" view.
4) I tried downloading the last stock version and putting it on an SD. Formatted it correctly but when i try to update from SD in recovery, a message comes up: "Couldn't mount /sdcard".
I'm starting to loose my mind here guys.. Please give a hand or a clue!!
Thank you very much.

My device was working perfectly fine until I tried to install an update on it last weekend when I tried to install what I think is a security update. After attempting to install it, my device was acting weird, but I got it to boot up and fully work while on. The device turned off again and it started to act weird. It would only turn on when charged, and would sometimes be in a boot loop while plugged in. Download mode would only work when plugged in, and would turn off as soon as unplugged, and would only flash on then off then plugged into my PC. I did manage to get download mode on once while plugged into my PC on Wednesday where I tried flashing the October 2019 update firmware from Sammobile.
After that happened, I got into recovery mode, wiped the cache, mounted /system, then rebooted into system, then the phone booted properly. I then restarted the device to see if things would've be all good then, but I was back to the issue before I flashed the ROMs. I thought setting it up wouldn't have made a difference, but now I wish I had done so to then reset it from the settings app.
My device has the random behavior I described before I flashed the ROMs as of now, and I have a very difficult time getting it into download mode while plugged into my PC. Wiping the cache, mounting /system, rebooting into system, and rebooting into lacking storage mode, all don't work. I will try periodically in hopes of luck, but does anyone know what I could try otherwise or whatnot?
