Battery Issue? - HTC Droid DNA

I don't know if it's since the update or since I got this replacement phone a month ago but I'm noticing it more now so it seems to me to be the update
I feel like my battery is depleting pretty damn fast considering what I do with it and how I use it through the day
I'm not the best with the technical aspects of this so if someone can help me try to figure out why this is possibly happening or maybe it is normal
Here is some battery stats, i feel at this point in the day i shouldnt be this low, i just use facebook for about 30 min when i first wake up then the occasional text and call during the day
let me know if you need any other info
Thanks

Are you referring to the ota update or a custom rom update?

Houston we have a problem ICS reboot fix killed my battery overnight while sleeping

Yes my Prime went from 40% battery life to totally dead when I woke up this morning....... I knew when they finally found a fix for the lockup issue they would screw everyone else over somehow this is last straw I am returning this once and for all.
EDIT: This appears to have been a one time thing I have tested the battery with sleep since this happened this morning and everything appears to be just fine..... also my antutu benchmark scores even went up a little
EDIT: Well nevermind my battery life sucks drains 40% in 2 hours at 25% brightness just browsing the web my Wi-Fi also randomly now disconnects and I have to click in to network settings and all of a sudden it will reconnect. I want 1.11 back or my money back for the Prime.

Yes it was read Garys notes in official thread for his 2/8 update.....
Same experience for me. The latest update has killed my once great battery life. I'm kind of pissed, considering I never suffered from the reboot/freezing issues that the update was made to address.

yea I fixed my post.... yesterday I had read differently....sounds to me they heard some people saying they weren't rebooting anymore and are now calling this a fix for it........I will be keeping an eye on my battery life......before the update it would take me over a day to kill the battery with keyboard.

o which source are you referring to. A thread here on the forum?
um you shouldn't b jumping to conclusions, in my experience it is not unusual to have crap battery life after a firmware upgrade, aspecially if you have a lot of apps, it has to rebuild caches and all that, so usualy sorts it self out after a couple of days.
The other thing is we can't see what apps could be causing battery drain as Asus hasn't enabled it yet.

Jumping to conclusions? I have never woke up in the morning to turn my Prime on and find it was turned off because the battery had died I think that's as conclusive as can be.

Better Battery Stats will show you exactly what apps or processes is draining your battery. Or what's causing wakelocks(when device wakeups for reason out of sleep to update info or app process) and deep sleep issues. Its free n made by an xda member. Just type it in the search.

That's not necessarily true, sometimes a broken app, incompatible app, or apps that crashed can keep the processor running. When I first got my galaxy sII the battery drains like crazy. But after a factory reset it was 100 times better. I wouldn't jump straight to conclusion with a one time thing. After all, pics, quad core are still new.

BUT if only 1 thing changed, the OTA update, you can rule that logic out. If he got the OTA update AND changed a bunch of stuff that is possible. As I read it, only change is OTA update and thus, you can start to narrow down the cause.

The system update is not draining the battery life at all, if anything the way the system ha been adjusted to utilize the cores, it should save some battery life. battery drain is caused by an app running in the background, tat is probably not closing properly. Check to see if anything is running in the background, or maybe an app that you recently installed is not working properly. My battery can go a day without needed to be recharged, and this is with heavy gaming/app usage, as well as other prime owners whom have updated. Please try to root out another cause of the problem before just assuming its due to the update.

Thanks, this should pinpoint the app causing the problem for those who are having battery issues. Don't want to cause a mass-hysteria on the firmware update, it has been working great so far for most of us

Yes it did, and mine and hundreds of other owners have not had any battery issue, so I don't see it causing battery issues for some and not others. Have you recently installed any new apps/games? Did you try a fresh reboot? I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just saying check for other possible causes. The speed of the cores have been adjusted somewhat with the new update to help save battery life. Use the link provided a few posts above to see whats running and using the most battery on your device..I bet that's what is killing yuor battery
Well if this is true mine should be off when I get home since i haven't used it since last night. We'll see.
Oddly enough, I had a battery issue yesterday as well - but I have not received OTA .13, my Prime is on 11.1
I left my tablet in my work bag most of the day, in sleep mode. Around 4 PM I go to use it, and it is AMAZINGLY warm/hot, and the battery is dead. I cannot remember what I was using the night before, but something made the processor churn all day, and eventually kill the battery.
I think I did leave it on Performance mode - but can't for the life of me think what could have caused this to happen.
I know - not very helpful as I am not on .13 - but just pointing out yours could have been a fluke.
Charged when I got home last night - and all seems fine today.......

Exactly, this just means that your Prime was *working* constantly, which means that there was an app/game that was running constantly without your knowledge. try a fresh reboot and see if that helps, also, try to find the culprit which is causing your prime to stay active.

You wouldn't be the first one to complain about the sleep mode battery drain on 11.1. I am also quite sure that the .13 version is heavily based on that 11.1 beta.

Maintenance update (1.1.A.0.1)

Anyone know what this is?
Been ignoring the latest .305 update notification, but now this shows up, only 1.3MB - does anyone know what it is / does?
Iv just had this update, installed it and can't see any obvious changes like the security patch update for august or October.
installed t, dont see changes
I just flashed .305 and I get this notification too

Excuse me, how do you state this?
Because of this
not sure its related or if i had it before
but i see in xperia care that i use more than 75% of my storage space
I have the same notification, both actually: the first one 23.5.A.1.291 and the second one 1.1.A.0.1 with my Xperia Z2
I updated it with the 1.1.A.0.1, it's OK, the phone don't reboot. But I don't update with the 23.5.A.1.291. I don't want to lose the root, xposed, and root apps (it was hard for me to have them on my phone (and I don't know why I can't access anymore to recovery, with locked bootloader)).
Anyone notice any additional battery drain? Might be just imaging it but it does seem like battery not as good.

i'll continue to follow
the next night ill try without data\wifi\bt or stamina mode
my best record so far is 0.11% per hr (1% every 9hrs)
my worst drain yet is 15mins for 1% for standby (wifi whatsapp via browser)
i still didnt get .350 update for some reason

Apparently some Z3C report the same problem (like here) , not sure if it can be related. In either case I prefer wait and see if there is an evolution about this update.
I wasn't going to install it but you can't get rid of the notification and then it annoys me ?

Yeah the notification appear this morning and it annoys me too x)
I just stop the service, and freeze the updater app with Titanium BC, and it seem to work.

Still running on original firmware. Time to finally update?

Ever since Samsung carrier specific phones have been becoming increasingly more difficult to root, the very first thing I do on my last 3 or 4 Samsung phones is get the package disabler to prevent any updates and notifications for updates. In hopes of getting root/custom recovery or maybe even magically unlock the bootloader asap, and don't want to accidentally download a patch the could prevent me from having the option. I am still running N950USQU1AQH7. I was wondering anyones opinions on weather or not I should just cave in finally now and accept that I won't be able to ever run root/xposed in the future of this phone.
I know we have that 80% battery root option, but I really would use that for Titanium Backup and possibly Greenify. Plus the 80 percent thing would drive my OCD nuts, even if if there is a visual only fix.
So I guess I'm asking, are there any significant benefits to finally updating my phone/firmware/moving on to 8.0? Or do you think there still may be a shred of hope for me?
I'm not really having any issues with my phone except for the bloatwares/Bixby junk I have disabled already.
hows your battery life so far??? I feel like oreo has made the battery drain quicker, but at the same time I have am a heavy user. I do alot of recording and editing on my device and I factory reset after updates. I remember when it would report 40 hrs of battery life, now I get 18 hrs.
I know its only a year old, but kind of a quick drop for a phone that was released at 1k

Redmi note 9s battery app suddenly updated and it's messing usage status

Hey guys
Since I bought the device the battery usage was accurate and was working fine, until suddenly like a week ago the app seems to have updated because it looks different now when you go into battery settings and also usage status is weird and messed up. I think that it's getting reset every 24 hours instead of every time I charge because when I check SOT it's always very low compared to my usage
anyone facing the same issue? anyway I can change it back to how it was before?
You are correct, only last 24h are shown, so stats are pretty useless... I already reported this bug.
The sad thing is that they say they don't have time to fix bugs as they are working on MIUI12, but they add more bugs to the working things...

People who got MIUI 12 are already complaining of bad battery life. We don't want the MIUI 12 update, we just want our battery app back as usual. if it aint broken dont fix it.
I just regret buying xiaomi man.
I agree.
You said that people with MIUI12 have issues about battery life, to think evil with this bug it's harder to get correct and comparable data about battery life...
I have created a feature request thread on Xiaomi's community forum this issue (it should be a bug instead...), please vote here https://c.mi.com/thread-3285998-1-0.html

Crazy Xiaomi, how to ruin an App in one quick change, I don't think it is likely they will revert back to the battery app that was actually quite good anytime soon, so as requested by 7mada has anybody found a way to revert back to the previous App?
Go into apps , locate security, uninstall updates at bottom and battery goes back to old version

When I did the security update it also changed the battery app so I guess yes, on uninstalling the security update the battery app reverted back, security still seems to work as per normal

You can't judge battery for a few days. It always sucks immediately after an update.
Should i roll back or wait for another update?

I just got my s23 ultra on Monday. Turn on phone and updated. I must say battery life isn't that great either. Once I start using my phone it goes down quickly
I haven't notice any lags after the update. Battery life seems the same as before. I just installed the update today so will see if there is any significant change. But so far seems that it's just working as intended. Still hitting 5+ hours of SOT after last a full day of use and 30% battery left no optimizations.
Seems fine here. Am on light battery profile
No difference here on VZW.
No problems on the U1 model.
No issues for me. If you have a few hiccups wait a day or 2. Apps do re-optimize after an update so let everything adjust.

Have had this after “analyzing battery pattern” phase. It was probably the play store update but as soon battery finished analysis p, it got worse
I don't get why some of you are only getting half the battery life that I am. I am Deaf so I don't do any voice calling. Don't have any games installed yet. And only Social Media I have is Facebook and Messenger. Other than that it's all Stock without any modifications and using Adaptive Refresh, Adaptive Battery and WQHD resolution.
The first screenshot was with Standard Performance Profile and Second was Light Performance Profile.

Hi, lot's of problems here
apps force closing
system notifications saying apps have issues
system restarting and going on a loop (not getting to the pin screen)
Had to go back to my prevoius phone until I figure it out
Chatted with Samsung, no straight answers.
Factory resetted it, still same issues, even on the instalation screen to pick language.
Anyone know how to rollback in a clean way to avoid warranty issues?

Regarding batery, wasn t able to check, but I assume it will have issues too.
Thx

Because I don't have a time machine to know what would happen. I assumed this didn't happen, but I was wrong, now is time to fix it..
Downloading update via Frija and will update on Odin.
The thing is I can't rollback, as I couldn't get the old firmware, only the new one.
I'll update here when is done.

Remember it for the rest of your life!!! All updates bring only bugs! No need to update Windows and Android! If you do, you will have problems. You won't get anything good.
