Was stuck in a boot loop for about 20min figured out this is how to boot to twrp. Done it again from power off just to make sure it wasn't a fluke for me at least.
Hold all 3 buttons till phone is off
Then wait acouple sec and push volume down button and then the power button hold both till phone boots keep holding threw first lg symbol till it boots a second time then release both buttons and press power button.

Good info, wrong section.

I thought this was common knowledge already. The info. has been out for quite a while now.
When your phone is bootlooping, all you have to do is hold the power button down until your phone powers off, then:
How to boot into recovery mode
Volume down & Power, when the LG logo appears release and press them again, then press the Power button three times!
That's from the cyanogen mod G2 info. pages: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/D802_Info
My bad feel free to delete thread. I couldn't find out how to when I searched Google earlier.

How about I just close it then move it to the general section.
It may help others with their search.

I am trying to root my GT7510 (wifi only) and can't get into downloading mode to use odin. I tried posting in that forum, but i do not have enough posts. I have tried the volume down + power button method, but all it does is reboot the tab over and over. If it makes any difference i am on build HMJ37.UEKME P7510UEKME. Should i do a factory restore and try before applying any updates? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you releasing the power button or just continuously holding it down? If it's the latter, that's your problem. Hold volume down, and hold the power button down. As soon as the first Samsung screen pops up, release the power button immediately while still holding the volume down button. You should get into bootloader mode.

Wow, i feel pretty dumb now lol. That was it. I thought it was like getting into the CWM on my epic. Thank you!
No problem! I was new once too, I actually made the same mistake with my Vibrant, trying to get it into download mode.
I like how easy it is to get into download mode on the galaxy tab compared to how I had to do it on the Vibrant

Every instruction says to press Power+Vol Down and hold the Vol down until you see "Fastboot".
But its not true.
You power up with power button as normally and within 2-3 seconds just press the Vol Down key. It will show you the usual "Fastboot" text on your screen. There you can choose as usual with Vol Down key and select with Vol Up.
yeah ..that is true...
Yeah, but holding the volume down button ensures you don't miss that window, then have to go through another reboot cycle.
I think your point is kinda pointless really, but that's just my humble opinion!
i'm still going to press POWER+VOL DOWN together.
Just hold VOL-DOWN then press and release power. Release VOL-DOWN when fast boot appears. You don't have to hold power.
Actually, everything that has been said so far IS true... there is no wrong way to access the boot options whether you hold both the Power Button + Volume Down, Press Power Button then release + Press volume Down after 2-3 sec etc. all of these techniques will get you to the boot menu..
But I think, which is always dangerous, the reason they have said to hold both Power Button + Volume Down Button is because they avoided all the questions like;
when is the right time to press the Volume Down Button
Do I wait 2-3 sec after I press the Power Button
or Do I wait 2-3 sec after the Moto boot logo appears
Why can't I get this right
I tried searching for a way to get into the boot menu and it seems like I keep missing the 2-3 sec window period, can someone please explain to me the right way?
LoL

/endthread.
I got an Atrix from a friend who was having problems with it.
I tried turning it on and it stays tuck in a boot loop with the "Dual Core Technology" screen.
I tried a couple of key combinations to see if I could get to fastboot but nothing works. So far I've tried the following combinations:
1. holding the volume up button while powering on
2. holding the volume down button while powering on
3. holding volume up + volume down while putting the battery in and then pressing the power button
4. holding volume up + volume down while putting the battery in and then letting go of volume down and pressing the power button
5. holding power and volume up button while putting the battery in
I also tried this. After holding down the volume up button and pressing the power button, i tried hitting the volume down button once and then hitting volume up, hitting it twice and then volume up, 3 times and volume up, etc. etc. and then plugging in the phone to the computer, just in case the fastboot menu was there but I couldn't see it, but that doesn't seem to work either.
As it stands right now, all I'm getting is the boot loop. The phone had been sitting around for a while so I'm not really sure what the history is so all I have to go off of is what I have in front of me.
I'd appreciate any help in the matter.
Can you tell more history of the phone?
Is it rooted?
Is the bootloader unlocked?
Which ROM is it running if it's running one?

I'm pretty sure its not rooted and almost certain its the stock rom but I have no idea about the bootloader. My friend is not very tech-savy so I'm guessing that the bootloader is locked.
I have no way to verify any of this. All I have at this point is the phone that sits looping at the "dual core technology" screen.
If you have any ideas about which way to proceed from here, I'd greatly appreciate it!
What exactly is happening (down to the last detail) when you boot while holding Vol(-)?

When I have the volume down button pressed while booting, the green led stays on for 4-5 seconds, then the phone boots to the dual core screen, it'll stay there for about 5-7 seconds, then go to the M logo with the ripples and then the screen goes black for a second and then it loops back to the dual core screen. Only, this time, there is no delay between the 'dual core technology' screen and the M logo with the ripples.
Try this:
1) Remove battery
2) Replace battery while holding volume down button
3) Navigate to recovery
Should get you out of the loop.

Maybe the easiest way to get make it work again would be to flash the original stock rom with RSDLite.
It's very easy, you just need to connect your phone via fastboot ( when powering on hold vol(-) key until it says fastboot), then press vol(+) and the computer will detect it.
Just remember to flash the correcto sbf for your phone, otherwise you will have another bootloop.

Where do I get the stock rom?
How about you do some searching on your own for a change?
This time search for fruitcakes. That's the stock ROM.
Sideloading latest update to Pixel 6, got to "reboot" phase and rebooted. This time another "reboot" option came up "cancel, latest update failed to complete". Without thinking I "rebooted" and now have a phone sitting here with a black screen and the word "Google" in bright colors. It has been this way for over an hour and doesn't respond to any button presses.
1st time in this situation - suggestions appreciated - 1st time posting here - hope I did it right
Enter recovery and flash the full factory image using adb.
Hold power button for about 30 sec.
Thanks for the replies
Phone seems to be locked - no response from any button, or button combo pushing - have tried all.
I think this phone is bricked

I think you have to hold the power button until it hurts your finger. That's what I have to do on my Fossil to get it to come back on when it dies. Make sure it's plugged in also.
I held the power button and several other button combos - nothing - phone is dead - new one ordered - thanks for the replies.

Mine was sitting at the Google screen yesterday too after flashing some modules, this is the only way I got out of it and into fastboot. Might be too late for you but maybe it helps someone else since JUST holding Power Up doesn't do anything.
Power + volume up should shut it down
When the screen goes black press power and vol down, that'll bring you to bootloader.
When it was at the "GOOGLE" screen I tried power + volume up, power + volume down, just power, just volume up, just volume down - nothing.. At this point I declared the phone dead and took the screen off . This was my 1st time taking a cell phone apart.
I appreciate all the replies I got to my situation, lots of knowledge on this forum
Hey everyone,
Hope there are still people around in the F1 forum.
My F1 was sitting in the drawer for almost 2 years now.
I'm trying to boot it now, but it gets stuck in the process. It basically keeps going like this to infinity, i gave it hours and it's doing exactly the same thing.
As you can hopefully see in the video, when i try going to fastboot (by pressing power+volume down buttons) it shows the fastboot logo but gets stuck there.
From that point the only thing i can do is try to reboot normally again, which brings me back to the first state.
Connecting to the computer doesn't do anything.
Any ideas?
Ideally i'd like to keep the data but i'd consider anything at this point.
Many thanks!
Try to restore. Press volume up and power button when logo appear release power button but keep holding volume up until recovery has shown up

Thanks for the tip!
Actually, emptying the battery completely and then charging all the way to 100% (without trying to reboot before it reaches 100%) eventually did the trick and the phone turned on with all the data.
