CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android , which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway. All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*

How does it run?
Credits
This ROM would still be a dream without the work of the following people.
Willie Ye aka Grarak for building the device tree
Arne Coucheron aka arco for the help he has been giving me in sorting out issues.
@stiggy2012, who helped in debugging early builds
The OTA Update Center Team
@JustArchi for his ArchiDroid Optimizations. More details here.
Thanks to @thering1975 for the Increase Volume Modification Mod.

GApps : BaNkS / CM11 / Slimkat / TKruzze
Changelog
Changelog is accessible here. From build 20140519, changelog is also accessible on the phone from Settings->About Phone->View Changelog
Additional Information
From the 20140914 build , inbuilt call recording feature will be available for regions where it is legal. For countries where it is not legal, it won't show up. As of now, US, Europe and Australia don't have this feature enabled. The earlier method of editing build.prop will not work.
Procedure
If you are coming from a different ROM, data/factory reset is mandatory. If you are flashing over a previous CM build, cache wipe will be sufficient.
You will need to flash the latest recovery ( CWM or TWRP ) mentioned above for a successful flash.
A nandroid backup is recommended prior to flashing CM in case you get into problems.
Flash the recovery using Odin
Flash ROM from recovery. Reboot.
Reboot to recovery and flash GApps.
A little more detailed guide is available here.
Mods
If you wanna disable hardware keys and enable navigation, user @shaider_516 has created a flashable zip for it. Details available here.
I have created a universal flashable zip. Details are available here.
Issues
No ringtones if headset is plugged in.Fixed. See here. Will not be required for ROMS post 20140721.
Offlate, I have noticed users complaining about exfat formatted cards not working. I compile the rom with JustArchi Optimizations and include the fix needed for exfat to work. If it still doesn't work, try flashing this.

Can you confirm you have flashed this on the Canadian I527m and it is fir the most part working? I am so sick of tw and this project is one of the few hopes for the Canadian mega
written in your mud with my stick
could someone please check MHL and tell me if output works? it probably doesn't but i don't want to waste time loading the recovery and get this setup if it doesn't.
the weird thing is it does work on many samsung devices running CM like the GS3 but most likely it doesn't work.
it will probably freeze up and reboot your phone when you try it, but maybe somehow/someway it will work.

Because if i don't, it results in a compile error for the kernel. Check screenshot. And i read somewhere to use the 4.6 toolchain. I don't remember where.

And hauptic feedback is not an issue because AOSP doesn't support it

Oh yes i have flash each updated rom and they have all worked, not much left wrong with the rom..camera issues but still works..but will be fixed soon, and the led works but just stays as green when connected and MTP not recognized on the pc but that is being looked at..otherwise it works well this rom..give it a whirl and see how you like it, just make a backup of what you have now and try the new CM rom..i think you will like it...but it forsure works on the i527m canadian mega and the TWRP recovery with the kitkat support works great also.
And knives of ice i will check my MHL adapter and see if it works on this phone..will try it in the stock rom first and then in CM rom.

thanks man.
it definitely works on the stock rom because i use it each and every day, works great. the stock rom is pretty awesome once you install xposed framework - so much more customization.
i am just wondering about mhl on CM and yes I am using the exact same phone as you the canadian mega which imported into the US.

OK solved the problem by downloading and flashing the one from the second link. Weird. Ok now the second problem is with root. Chainfire said that for those who have upgraded to 4.3 needs to re root.

I flashed a modded CM 10.2 from the N7100 thread to my AT&T SGH-I317 (using the port guide from the AT&T SGH-I317 forum) and this is going to be a great new rom base for us all using the t0lte (and variants like mine). Really, really quick and smooth.
I just couldn't get the phone radio working but wifi worked straight out of the box. I couldn't even add an APN. In my trials (and mostly errors) in attempting to port from the N7100 the phone radio has almost always been the issue when my ports have failed. It seems that building from source is the way to go to add proper functionality.
Since the N7105 and the SGH-I317 are virtually the same, I cannot wait for your successful CM 10.2. Until I get a build machine running I appreciate all the efforts of experts such as you!! Thank you so much for fueling my rom addiction!!

No, didn't test the battery life because I actually do need a phone from time to time.
I restored back to a working ROM after playing a bit. My phone is also my alarm clock so I needed that back, too.
I hope the battery life is as good as you are hoping.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't I have root access after installing OmniROM?
A: OmniROM does not have an official, prebuilt root method yet, so you'll just need to flash SuperSU in recovery and you'll have 100% working root access. SuperSU can be found here: SuperSU
Q: Where is <insert feature here>, like CM/AOKP/PA/etc have??
A: Omni is still very early in development, but moving at an incredibly fast rate. New feature, bug fixes, and device support are added just about daily. Check it out here: OmniROM Gerrit Review for the latest and greatest
Q: How do I start/stop screen recording?
A: Volume UP + Power will start screen recording. Simply drag the notification bar down and click the button to stop.
Q: HALP NFC doesn't work!!
A: We know.

im pushing another update to fix RUIM quickly
Works perfectly.
builds up now sorry sorry
I've had Omni on my flo for a while now and love it, I got excited when I started seeing jf come up in gerrit and was wondering when this day would come. Thank you for working towards supporting this device!
edit
Just did a fresh install of this ROM. Couple issues I've already come across..
My screen after a restart won't go to sleep after the specified time or by pushing the power/sleep button.
Not sure if this is related, but I have enabled active display and got an FC error upon my first notification and had to battery pull.
Update: After turning off Active display I can now put my phone to sleep without issue.
So... I've read the 'this is what custom roms should be' press release three times now, and I still have no idea what differentiates Omni from other ROMs. Is it a custom interpretation of AOSP code, like Cyanogenmod, or features ladled over Cyanogen code, like most other ROMs? Does it offer any of the fiddly knobs of Paranoid Android, or is this going to be a feature-avalance like AOKP or PAC?
I know things are still early days for Omni, but what am I looking forward to when I flash your ROM?

OmniROM is based on straight AOSP code, if you look in the source on github, you will see that VERY few repositories are actually forked from AOSP at all (put external in the search bar for Omni's public repos). Omni is designed to have many features and options that are all able to be toggled by the user. Omni is about choices, and giving the end-user the choices to make the ROM function the way that THEY want it to. 99% of features added to OmniROM come with a toggle to turn it on or off, hence "choices" :good:
The changelog pretty much gives a breakdown of all the features, because since the first 4.4 build, i did not make any releases until we fixed some major issues. This ROM is just about 100% stable. I say "just about" because if I reported my actual experience, which is literally ZERO issues, on nexus 5 and galaxy s 4, people would hang me and start bombarding me with "well what about this error I have that no one else does".
Best advice, make a backup and flash it. if you don't like it, then just restore your backup. no harm no foul. but i'm willing to bet you stick on this for a bit. There are a ton of features that are unique to OmniROM that other ROMs do NOT have.
also, pretty HUGE status update will be coming tonight (hopefully) as well
I'm freaking stoked I've been wanting to try OmniROM!

Thanks for the reply!
Source code is still gibberish to me, so I really appreciate the communication.

I've been hoping that someone would bring this over to us so I could try it out. Been running it most of the day today with almost no issues. Haven't really had a chance to play with it a lot, but so far it's been pretty solid. It did lock up on me once when switching to ART (using the Banks gapps), but after reflashing with PA gapps and sticking with Dalvik I haven't had any issues. Battery life is solid, and having the extra kernel tweaks with the built in kernel is much appreciated. Looking forward to the updates, thanks!

Will this rely heavily on Xposed for customization, or is there an Aroma style solution in the works?

No, Xposed Frameworks mods will be up to the user to install and implement as they see fit. Generally, I think Omni has a fairly good amount of features already implemented, all with toggles to activate/deactivate, but as always, Xposed will be able to offer a little bit extra of things that we won't support out-of-the-box. I would be wary of using Xposed though, as you will need to ensure that the mods you are installed are updated for 4.4 Aroma will NEVER be implemented into OmniROM source, as it is not 100% stable and is not supported by all devices that Omni supports, and therefore would cause serious, serious issues. I'm sure people will make their own kangs of this eventually and there may be one with Aroma installer, but this will not ever implement that.
Also, some things to look forward to in the near future:
Omni File Explorer - OmniROMs native root file manager
native root support (you will no longer need to flash SuperSU in recovery)
OpenDelta - Omni's OTA Updater
NFC fix *properly*
Multi-Window
a big surprise in the next few hours

I would be VERY cautious of using ART as of now, it is still highly experimental in AOSP source and google needs to make a lot of improvements before I would use it standard
Thanks for all these update, it is greatly appreciated.. looking forward to the surprise tonight!
OMG we have Omni! Thanks so much! Let you know how everything's working tomorrow... glad to see your from Philly too :thumb:
Could disabling the 3-dot overflow be possible in a future update since this device has a capacitive menu key?

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

[*] What is the difference between this ROM and other CM11 ROMs?
This ROM is completely built from CM11 source code for each device separately using a common device tree. There is no need to flash any Camera Fixes of NFC Patches.
[*] Does it have emulated internal SD?
Yes. It's a requirement for android to have a persistent storage that is non-removable. Most of the newer android devices have emulated storage and this is not a big problem.
[*] Compatible Basebands?
All the v20 basebands should work. However, I was not able to test all of them. If you have any issues with specific baseband, please make a post and notify.
[*] Which device do you have?
I have a P768 and I usually test all of the builds except P769.
[*] What's the frequency of updates?
It depends on the fixes. If there are considerable changes, I will upload a new build for all the devices at once.
I love you so much, downloading right now... I'll test it for a while and report later, but great work buddy you built for every variant

I had a build for P769 ready, but in the process I had screwed up my kernel tree. I will work on the device this weekend and maybe upload a test build.

And is v20o baseband(like in artas's newest version) needed for this to work good?

That's very interesting. I always wanted to try a stock or rather google inspired rom in my Note but was never given the chance. Your download links are down though, overloading my anticipation
edit: You write "all variants download here". Do you mean that you support both P600, P601 and P605?

Cool stuff just got back with mine installed twrp through odin and used SuperSU zip to root. Just downloaded and about to flash. Wanted to get a preloaded recovery first with all my normal apps. Thanks for the Rom look forward to it!
Everything is up and running. I had issues getting SuperSu - ended up having to reflash that through TWRP. The only thing i have noticed so far is the inability to take screenshots. I might be missing something - but i believe the only way was to hold down the button and touch the screen. Once i finish setting up i will check if the phone is even responding to spen button
Came across an interesting error couldn't use hangouts dialer to video call. Grant it I didn't test it on stock it worked on the tab 4 I had its not a necessity I was just trying to break things lol
Screenshot is volume down + power
Screen record is volume up + power
I know about the hangouts problem. Also I know that headphones don't work. I will fix it next chance I get. My professors are laying the papers and assignments on hard this past week (its the same thing I had to do for the note 3)
Also if you read the OP 2nd post you would see that I specifically stated that Omni does NOT include root or su binary by default.
Some good info:
A great tool for this is the app Syslog from the play store. If you have a bug, simply open the app and select the type of logs to collect. Just keep in mind that the logs must be collected after the bug and before a reboot (unless you're getting logs for a random reboot, in which case you would collect a last_kmsg). This app makes collecting logs as easy as its ever been :good:

Ah, I see. For Omni, SuperSU was integrated into Settings if it's installed, there won't be an icon in the app drawer.
Tap Build Number a few times to enable Developer Options and you should see SuperSU above About Phone in settings :good:

Dont use ART. Its not supported by Google and therefore isn't support by Omni, and therefore not by me either. CM has hacked up some stuff to make ART work but Omni isn't doing that.
Best results will be with dalvik and stock kernel
I've been using it on campus for the past few days to take notes during class and write papers and haven't had any issues.
I just saw that you uploaded an update. Could you provide a changelog, since the changelog page shows an error (Error: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)) ?
I know now why, because it doesn't boot atleast for me.

P600 is the QUALCOMM wifi-only variant, correct? If it is QUALCOMM then I can certainly look into it. Shouldn't be much more difficult than just removing the telephony and ril stuff
If it is Exynos there is no way.
The p600 is exynos but but I do know that many p605 roms work flawlessly on the p600... could u please try to support the p600
Thank so much for trying to help
