You might want to start following this thread.... looks like OP is working on a 4.3 CRT Off. I used this thread to mod my android.policy.jar and services.jar to include the CRT Off code for MC3 [4.1.2 TW]. If/when the 4.3 files are updated, you can compare android.policy.jar and services.jar code against your current two files [using WinMerge or similar program] and add what's needed or use the two files if code is identical except crt off logic.

What mods? What is it about the battery?
Well the battery life will never be the same on ics as on gb because ics needs more resources from our phone, and if you are talking about things like nxt mods or apps there are a few already on the themes section.

Anyone have any good alternatives to the photo editor for those of us using CM or any other non touchwiz based roms? I found the editor to be useful for quick and dirty cut paste jobs on things with the pen and was hoping there was an alternative that didn't require touchwiz.
If your talking about s note or s memo alternative use g note it should be somewhere in these forums. I'm using it with my paranoid android ROM.

Hey, I am a noob. Could somebody tell me how to get the pure Android 4.0 settings on my Xperia U.
Or simply the settings in CM9. Is it as simple as I replace the APK from the FXP's or something but I

I dont think that a simple copy-paste would be enough for that but nothing wrong with giving it a try (Although chances are a bit slim ) Odds are you'll need to edit Settings.apk after decompiling and make alot of edits to get it to aosp style

CM9 is still not 100% ready. And I kinda like the Xperia UI so Ill stick with this for a while I just want to how he got the AOSP Settings working
I was browsing through the themes and apps section and found a while dedicated thread to aosp clean framework. I don't remember the OP but I have the flashable zip. I'm on Mobile now. Will find the thread and link it tomorrow.....
You can search for it too. It was called 'aosp framework'
I remember its title has these words' works on Xperia u, p with caveat'

Hello, dear XDA community!
I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for almost 1 month and beginning from day 1 I realised that Samsung did something wrong with android and spoilt everything with their TouchWiz UI. I tried a lot of different ROMs and found that the best one for me is CyanogenMod 10.1. Everything is cool about this ROM, but I miss some features from the stock ROM.
The features that I miss are:
* S Note
* Samsung Keyboard
* Samsung Camera
I tried extracting these apps from deodexed ROM (I used Omega ROM + correct permissions), but for some reason they refuse to work...
Can someone tell me how to add these apps to my beloved CyanogenMod ROM?
I will appreciate all links, guides and suggestions.

That can be done but still doesn't give you the apropriate fw to use tw fw reliant apps

Hi,
This is my first thread in XDA..
I've tweaked build.prop for XU JB port..
Many of you might have noticed that after flashing JB stock firmware on XU, when you return to home screen from heavy messaging apps like whatsapp, facebook messenger and heavy games you get laggy home screen and slow responses..
So I searched on internet for new tweaks and added them also copied some tweaks from @GEKTHEBOSS's JB fixes which he released before camera was fixed.
I've tested it and performance is better than before..
If you feel the same please press thanks.
Installation guide:
install any file manager which allow root exploring
unzip the zip file.. THE ZIP FILE IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP
Just copy the build.prop file to root/system/
and set permissions as
User x x -
Group x - -
Write x - -
where X's denote checked boxes..
As I'll learn more android developing I'll add more..
