I want it all! I want full S-View, wireless charging, NFC support, protection, and support for the metallic plate that the Mountek nGrove Snap car dock uses. I figure I could put the metal plate on the flip cover portion so that it does not interfere with NFC and wireless charging (just flip 'n' stick), but that still leaves me wanting a locking cover with drop protection like the Slim Armor View. My current bumper case (Bear Motion, same as Poetic) provides drop protection with the official Samsung wireless charge cover battery door but I still want an S-View flip cover and a way to lock it.
It seems to me that it would be very easy to design a three-sided bumper for the S-View cover by just making a bent rod that goes around and behind the S-View cover hinge. From there, I'm sure a mechanism for securing the cover flap is possible, even if it's just a bit of elastic or something.
Think anything like this is in the works? I'd love to see it!

I have had one of these cases for a while, and really feel it is one of the nicer ones out there for the Prime, but lately the lack of a magnetic clasps on the back of the case has been bothering me for when I have the cover open. I have been looking to putting a thin metal sheet on the back under the leather back and then put some magnets on the cover. I was curious if there was anyone who may know of a good site to grab some thin sheets of metal that the magnets would actually attract to.
So I picked up a Spigen folio case for my Nexus 6 and was disappointed that it didn't come with a magnet in the cover for lock/unlock. Anyone mod their case to add a magnet or know of a magnet that's strong enough (and thin enough) but won't lock the screen when you put the door flush against the back? I'm thinking of buying a crappy $5 case off Amazon and just ripping out the magnet but thought I'd ask here for input. Thanks!

I've modded my vertical belt case. Thin neodymium magnets fixed at the outside (Superglue)
Screen swtchess off went N6 is in the case.
But when moving/walking the screen turned sometimes on. Causing battery drain.
Yeah neodymium are going to be way too strong unless its really small.
I have the same case having an additional magnet in the cover may ruin the cards sitting right behind them
Hey I'm looking for a case with a hard cover that doesn't bend - like a keyboard case or a case with a kickstand. It also MUST attach to the tablet in a way that allows the tablet to swing freely but it doesn't matter if it's via magnet or hinge.
It doesn't matter if it has a keyboard and the quality of the keyboard doesn't matter as I won't be using it.
The Zagg Folio 8" Auto-fit looks perfect - except it's WAY more than I want to pay. Can anyone please recommend any other cases that are lower priced? The feature that I need is a non-bending cover that attaches well, anything else like keyboard or looks is unimportant. Thanks!
Reason I need a non-bending cover is I want to hang the tablet so it hangs on a monitor with the cover portion laying flat on the top of the monitor so it's at eye level for use on a stationary cycle and so the monitor screen is covered. The two bendy covers that I've tried this with "collapse" and the weight of the tablet drags off the top.
I have an idea: Why not use Velcro stickers so it can hang of the top(back) of the display unit itself? It would be way cheaper if you already have something in mind and can be easily removed. And even the slimmest stickers could be left on the cover without interfering with the screen once it's closed or when held while in use.
Nice idea but it's for a machine at my gym.
Anyone use the Noreve S7 Leather case? http://www.noreve.com/en/galaxy-s7/3219-samsung-galaxy-s7-leather-case.html
It looks like the edges are not completely covered.... if I dropped my phone would this protect it from cracking the glass?
Also, newbie question.... can the leather case allow wireless charging?
Hey.
I don't use the case, but it's pretty nice looking! I doubt it would protect your phone if you were to drop it - there's not enough material to absorb the force from the impact, so most of the force would be transferred directly to your phone.
You could, however, use the case when you're at home and swap it for something more protective for when you're going out.
Yes, leather and plastic cases will allow wireless charging, although metal won't.
Do you think it's relevant that the rounded edges aren't completely covered by the case? I believe the Samsung version completely covers the edges. Would that make the Samsung a better case for protection if I drop it?
Most covers offer insufficient backcamera protection,
And book cases are too sturdy.. Not fun to hold in hand.
So i recommend making a DIY hybrid of the original honor 10 case and an adjusted Flip Case.
This has the added advantage of offering extra protection for the screen/front camera as well, even if you already use a tempered glass.
-Order cheap flip case from Aliexpress
-Cut out the hard plastic case and throw away
-Turn around flip cover and cut a new hole in it for the back camera
-Cut off the flip cover 8mm beneath camera, and throw away
-use quickglue to glue the original Honor transparent case in it.
-Reinforce the cut camera hole with glue.
You may want to cut out the magnet as well as this might interfere with compass or other functions in the phone.
