[Q] Problem with enabling WiFi - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hey guys,
I've got a problem with my WiFi-Adapter. That Problem exists now for a few months. When i tap on "enable WiFi" it initializes the WiFi module but after some moments it turns off again. It's definitely a software related problem so pls help me. I've been trying to fix that by my own but I don't know where to begin to fix this. That all began when I used the normal Stock Rom. Currently I'm using an unofficial CM11. The system change didn't change anything. Quite annoying...
In hope for help!

Is your Wifi mac address unavailable,if yes we have same problem,i tried flashing new kdz,and changing numerous roms but problem still persist.
Can you go to system/etc/wifi and see if you got nvram.txt file, mac address is stored there,if that file exist maybe we can fix it

Hi n0p3zz,
sorry for answering that late. I've been busy a lot so I didn't have time to care about my phone.
So I just looked up what you said and I didn't find that .txt-file. What i found are several .cfg-files. My ROM is CM 11 Unofficial, if that helps you in any way. My problem is that i cant't transfer any files from my Phone to my PC.

[Q] WPA + AES = problem ?

Hi everyone.
I have recently upgraded my SGA from original 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 XXKPE and i have detected an issue when i try to use the WPA + AES combination. The phone detects the wifi but it tries to validate the password a few times and then it is disconnected...
When i tried to connect with the older firmware (Froyo 2.2.1) i could connect the first time but when i lost the connectivity my wifi changed it's state to error and the only way to reconnect was restarting the phone.
No issue detected with WEP or WPA + TKIP.
Anyone else has the same problem? If not, can you tell me your firmware version?
Many thanks in advance
Same situation: S5830 + ASUS WL500W works only with WPA TKIP. But with TKIP speed is limited to 54mbps. Android OS 2.3.4
Just picked up a Samsung Galaxy Ace running stock Android 2.3.4 (baseband S5830LUBKP7, kernel 2.6.35.7-perf-CL366939 [email protected] #1), and seem to be having this same problem.
My home wifi is set to WPA2 Personal+AES, and when the correct passphrase is entered, the Ace just continuously cycles through "Connecting... Disconnected", over and over.
If I drop back to WPA Personal+AES, I get the exact same thing. *However*, if I drop to WPA Personal+TKIP, the phone connects immediately.
I really don't want to use TKIP, as it has known exploits. Is there a known FOTA update for a US-market, unbranded Galaxy Ace that fixes this, or is there any known workaround except "don't use AES"?
try DDKQ6
after flashing DDQK6, reboot phone and enter PIN
then reboot again but in recovery and install CWM5
reboot and wipe data/cache/dalvik and reboot

Thanks for the info. I'm new to flashing phones, would kinda like to stay stock if possible, since this is my wife's phone, not my own. Am I correct in thinking DDQK6 is an Indian firmware? If so, what would differ from US-market firmware, and would I potentially lose any features or cause any unusual behavior by switching to it?

Just update it over the air from setting -> about/phone -> update.
Make sure you have backed up the data like contacts and sms.
Hey, hey!! Problem with wifi? I'm an expert on this But I came with bad news, though.
What I found out:
There's indeed a bug that prevents us from connecting to this kind of wireless (eduroam, in my case). Everything seems to come from a buggy version of wpa_supplicant, everything goes well but then, in the second phase, it seems to "forget" the password or something (I'm not an expert, sorry, can't explain any better) I've been trying to change it, but no luck.
I've tried most of the stock firmwares, and custom roms as well. No luck, still the same bug.
There's an app that claims to fix the problem. wifi ace if I remember well (advanced config editor). But it didn't fix anything for me. You may want to give it a try.
I was expecting for samsung to fix it, but I've lost my faith on it. Neither google seems to be doing anything, as the bug remains on android 4.0.
I can provide you with some links, in case you want to read more about. And please, let me know if you find something.

No need to be sorry. You're replying to a thread that's current, in that I replied to it with my own problem. (And I did so because it was the only thread that came up in the Ace forum on a search for AES, which seems to be specific to the problem. Didn't seem to make sense to start a new thread when this one covers the same topic.)

Help! Samsung Galaxy S2 Portable wifi hotspot configuration wont save

Hi all,
GT-I9100
version 2.3.5
Kernal I9100XWKJ2
GINGERBREAD.XWKI8
Just wondering I have the above phone, and ever since I bought it, I cant seem to configure my personal hotspot SSID and passcode, without it defaulting back to AndroidAP and default passcode
I enter in my desired SSID and passode, click save, and if I go to conect on laptop it will come up ok, but only that one time. If I literally go straight back into the configuration of wifi hotspot, it has defaulted back to AndroidAP
Very frustrating indeed!
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

wow so no one has seen this issue before?
BUMP
Yes my s2 won't save, either. i tried with root explorer and in try to change etc/wifi and data/misc/wifi folders to read/write but i can't
OK so its not just my phone. Anyone got a known solution to this problem? I just updated to a new firmware and still the same issue.
Galaxy S2 not saving Wifi Hotspot config?
Hi, I just had this issue on my new phone. Most frustrating having to re-enter details, then a mate said have you ever cold loaded the machine after it's first boot up after purchase?
Powered the SII right off & re-started and the config now saves perfectly!
The S2 came with 2.3.5 from factory and i was able to change the wifi hotspot name, but since i rooted i started to have this issue too, i also tried upgrading to 2.3.6 original firmware and no luck, anyone have an idea to solve this?
Regards
*FIXED*
Just rebooted the phone with CWM app in recovery mode and applied "fix permissions" from the advanced menu, rebooted normally and i was able to change my SSID and password without a problem!
Hope this works for other users too
It didn't work for me, I'm on 2.3.5 too
Has anyone at Vodafone got a solution to this? I updated to 2.3.5 and my phone will NOT save the SSID and password either.
Same issue for me, everytime I find a new generated password. I'm starting to think that is not a bug but is meant to work this way...

[Q] Help with WiFi and Bluetooth not turning on

So I have an issue with the WiFi and the bluetooth not turning on. I have looked through a bunch of forums online and haven't yet found something that will help with this issue. I was previously running stock rooted and noticed that there was an issue when I was transferring data to another phone. So I thought I would try fastbooting back to complete stock. That didn't solve the problem, so I did a full factory wipe and reset and still the problem persists.
What happens each time I try to turn either setting on is that the toggle greys out and the phone says "Turning on wifi" (or nothing for BT) but nothing happens after that. After a while the toggle with show off in the system settings, still greyed out, and on in the wifi menu, also greyed out.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
I have found a similar thread for non-US phone and will try when I get home, but not sure if this resolved the issue and if so if it will fix the US version. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2306100
Similar problem was solved on CM 10.1 using su and wifical.sh on Terminal. Try on your stock.

Sorry for the delayed response. I tried this, but I am getting the following error in terminal emulator:
"rm failed for /system/ect/firmware/ti-connectivity/wl1271-nvs.bin, No such file or directory Unable to open file /system/ect/wifi/TQS_D_1.7.ini (No such file or directory) Failed to read ini file /system/ect/wifi/TQS_D_1.7.ini Calibration not complete. Removing half-baked nvs"
I am on stock, FXZed back, tried installing an AOKP port on it and nothing seems to work. Thinking about trying to install either Liquid or CM since this is a fix that is known to work. But I am getting very frustrated by this since I am basically just trying to make sure that it is working so that I can just sell the damn thing.
Any other help would be greatly appreciated

[Q] Wifi cannot go past "turning on" status - Galaxy Grand Quattro

I think I've messed up again. Whenever I try to turn my wifi on, it gets stuck at the "turning on" status and then crashes after a couple of minutes. I have no error messages. It just closes after some time. The last thing I remember I did regarding wifi was to recover a stored password using Wifi Password Recovery App. Then this happened.
My phone is rooted and I have cwm. I've tried basic troubleshooting like power cycling, deleting wpa supplicant file (found in a post somewhere), tried turning wifi on using allsahare play, untweaking internet, but they just didn't work.
I'm ready to flash a stock ROM. But I'm just curious if you have any other suggestions before I do it because I've read some posts saying that reflashing didn't work as well.
Please help XDA Developers!
I guess no one has the solution yet. But I have discovered something, and I hope this would help. I found the file, init.qcom.wifi.sh, using root browser. I executed it and I got a script output stating an error. WI-FI chip ID is not specified. I have attached screenshots so you may as well check them out. Also, I noticed the files under date\misc\wifi are all 0.00 B which i think means they are empty. Please help experts.

First of all you've got to flash any custom rom available in order to use wifi again !!!
Now regarding this issue u've just mentioned I'll try to investigate it further !!!
Thanks man. I flashed JASP ROM and its working fine now.
Didnt work

i tried all the above methods and even when on a full cleanrom install including the jasp rom but nothing has happened please help
Try reverting back to stock temporarely with Odin, this happens in my Note 3 and used to do the same in my S2, but only with the proximity sensor. The idea is the same, replace all settings to stock and flash whatever you want after (boot the stock though and test wifi just in case).
Why this works i have no idea, but it saved my arse loads of times. I can guess some internal devices might have flags configured which could be chip based rather then ROM/emmc related, but that is only my supposition.

[Q]"Error while searching for networks" CM12.1 issue

Hello,
I've got Samsung G360H galaxy core prime and I have CM12.1 running right now. I've been facing such random issue of having no signal and when searching for networks it gives me "Error while searching for networks". I've checked my IMEI and it didn't change and was recognized on the IMEI websites. This issue can be fixed by turning flight mode on & off several times but its really annoying to do everytime. I hope anyone could help me find a solution for this.
Thanks
I've tried restoring my stock efs but the issue was still there. Everything works perfectly on stock, the issue is only on CM12.1.
Could someone please kindly reply to me? It has been too long since I posted this
This situation on the rom CM .. Hopefully the writers ROM will soon have one patch for this situation ... Thanks.
