Hi, I'm new here.
Pretty new to exploring how to install my android to a newer version and so on.
Thing is I got my Optimus 3D, I've searched for help how to install to Jelly Bean 4.2 and I always get to this site. Problem is when I try to download the needed file, it does not exist.
I need a ROM/updatefile blabla. I know how to install but i can't get access to the needed update file. Please help!

Fail
I got it to work. Almost.
Installed OptimusRS JCV3 but now my phone stucks everytime at the startup logo:E
The installation went without any problems. No fails what so ever except from the failure during startup.
Where do I go from here?
Boot into Recovery again.Wipe data/cache and go to "Advanced" and wipe Dalvik cache/Battery stats and Reflash the Rom.
Note:-
1.Should have stock ics rom before flashing the rom.
2.If the setup is completed in less than 5 sec then Wipe the System too

Thanks for all the help guys.
Still the problem remains. I can't even get into recovery-mode. What ever button i press on the phone, it starts up like its just being in sleepmode during the lag and it stays that way. I can't get pass the LG logo or get it to recovery-mode? What is the problem?

I wanted to change the kernel from my P500 to solve the lag problem and get better overall performance.
I rooted the phone using gingerbreak 1.20
after that i installed from the market Rom manager restarted the phone, and i backup the phone from there.
After that I got stuck with my kernel replacement and I gave up and I wanted to reset the phone to default state. I didn't do anything to my phone.
I unrooted the phone and did the factory data reset.
Now when I reboot the phone and press power+volume down+home I still get the Clockworkmod Recovery boot menu. In an untouched P500 what do you get when pressing that combination? Is there any way to make my phone 100% factory state ?
sorry for my bad english
u should even delete the recovery.....(TO get rid of it)
the recovery is on the sd card, right? i formated the sd card... so there is nothing related to rom manager...
u must try flashing the default rom from the devlopment forum.(KDZ Updater)
blah
if i wait for gingerbread update will the update solve this?
The Recovery is not on the sdcard.
Go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065197
and download the file "Original_Recovery_thunderg.zip" (or something to that effect) and flash it through cwm. This will restore the recovery as it was originally.
The zip is unsigned so you will have to toggle signature verification in cwm recovery.
@mihir he doen't want to get his recovery back(in other word he wants to remove it).
@soberspine http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944881 check dis thread and install the original rom...
@devil the original recovery zip in the link will restore the condition of the recovery to factory condition, i.e remove it.
this android reminds me of installing windows 95
the new unpdate to gingerbread will come out next month, so the update to 2.3 will get rid of that boot menu and other things that where changed when I installed Rom manager? in other words will the phone go to factory state before rooting/unrooting and stuff.
Yeah most probably the recovery will be cleared if and when you update to gb. But if you want to clear it now use the zip, it works.
Sent from my LG Optimus One P500 using XDA App
I don't think you'll be able to update to GB from a custom ROM or rooted phone. Even if the option comes up, it is recommended to go back to stock state (without recovery and root) or else it might cause problems.
i didn't installed any custom rom. the only thing I did was to root my phone using gingerbreak and then installed rom manager.
the only thing that changed to my phone is that now it has that boot menu clockworkmod.
now i unrooted my phone.
So it is not safe to make official update even if the only change is that i have on my phone clockworkmode?
Step by step picture guide to completely restore to open-box state using KDZ updater
did this for thousands of times and if you are doubted in any steps feel free to ask me
btw for your question, an un-touched optimus one pressing the recovery combination will result in
a stable image of an android jumped out of a white-rectangular box
a bar at the bottom loading
but that's it, nothing more no matter how long you wait
Also for your updating question:
LG WONT recognize your phone with their official updating tool only when you are ROOTED (so of course when you perform any other steps after rooting, it wont either... e.g. installing custom recovery, flash roms etc)
BUT if you go back to the original thing with KDZ, LG will update anything for you -tested by myself!
thank you for all the clarifications and the tutorial.
I will wait now for the new android 2.3 release and ill do the whole thing then.
It is possible after rooting and installing clockworkmod the phone to work slower?
It feels like the phone is responding slower or maybe is just me imagining things .
hehe. nothing like that.

Right, it wont be slower dont worry
Dear XDA developers,
I was tired of sony ericson servers being overloaded and thus being unable to update my phone, so I decided that I wanted to have CyanogenMod on it. I followed this tutorial http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Mini_Pro:_Full_Update_Guide and then I had a phone that kept showing me the startup animation of a droid with a spinning circle.
I had done the CWM backup before flashing as described by the tutorial. I've searched a lot on the internet and tried these tips to try to fix a bootloop:
- wipe cache
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache
- install update.zip (cyanogenmod) again
- restarted 100 times
In all kind of combinations, nothing helped.
Then next I wanted to just restore the backup I had made, so I pressed Restore and selected the backup. Rebooted the phone and the SE splashscreen showed up. Then the SE logo kept displaying for minutes. I connected the phone to Logcat in Eclipse (I'm an android developer) to see that the phone kept doing the same loop over and over again.
In all the steps I did I never rooted the phone, because the tutorial didnt say so. After reading a lot it felt like I should have rooted it first. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?
I now beg for you help to tell me what to do next? I have downloaded latest flashtool, I also have a working flashboot. I dont know what to flash/do anymore. I'm totally lost and the phone is looping forever. What should I do now?

reflash to stock FW using wootanserver.
...or you can just flash via fastboot prerooted kernel like Rage 2.4 for mini pro, and try everything again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910
and try reding this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445821
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226715
same problem
Guys I have the same problem, but I even rooted my phone, the CyanogenMod does start with the android on a skateboard and once the homescreen even came up but just rebooted straight after.
If I were to start all over with stock firmware how would I go on about doing that? Links?
Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
Did you flash the kernel provided in the zip file?
Also, before restoring your previous backup try doing a full wipe, non just factory, but go into mounts&storage from cwm and hit the fortmat sstem and then tr restoring backup.
All files and knowledge neede to resolve the issue can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792

After a lot of research I found the solution, even though it takes me back to stock rom I'm happy
Basically I repaired it with pc companion, on the home screen --> clicked on start under Support Zone; then Start under Phone Software Update;
then on the pop up box I clicked repair phone (underlined in blue); { click Continue, check box, Next} and just follow on screen instructions and the phone is reset to factory settings :good:
However I still found my bootloader unlocked when I tried to install rom again, don't whether it stayed or because I also unlocked my simlock today too.
Anyway the rom still didn't work for me so had to repeat this process all over again
If anyone has a good tutorial for rooting a sony xperia mini pro and & installing a good rom on it pls let me know, my model's still on Gingerbread and it hogs the battery crazy.
Try thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688980
Or thistalk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239
Hit thanks f I helped.

i was trying to remove the rom from my phone to test something out to compare it to regular android 4.1 which just came out for at&t. i hit factory wipe/reset, noticed that didn't remove it, so i downloaded rom manager, flash cwm recovery, and then did format/system. now the phone always gets stuck on the Samsung GALAXY SIII screen and won't even start up! i can turn it off but when i start it up again it gets stuck. i can't get into recovery mode either. kies won't work. please help me!!!

Well first off even if it did work trying to flash anything from kies would leave you in a bootloop. Running a custom roms kills the ability to update that way without going back to stock. Doing a factory reset does not remove a custom rom from the device. Reflash the rom and then boot up.
Hi friends! i have a razr maxx xt910 and i messed up a little trying to install a new rom. but let take you step by step and hopefully someone can help!
i had stock rom JB vodafone eu and yesterday a saw Jelly Bean 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.AU IMPROVED LIGHT wich caught my eye.
so i installed bmm(my phone was already rooted) and continued to install the rom on system 3. i had some trouble but i figured it out and everything was ok. the booted perfectly and i had a new rom ready!
but ive noticed that somehow lost my stock rom! (pressing all the buttons and selecting the recovery did nothing. it only showed me the android with the red triangle.)
so in order to fix this i had a (bad) idea to use rsd lite and flash back to a previous rom and work my way up again. the result was a failed flash and now my phone boots directly to fastboot!!! if i close it go to the stock boot menu(pressing all the buttons) and select normal mode the phone boots normally without an issue.
So does anyone have any idea on how to fix this!
every help is much appreciated.

So ,im sorry but its a long story. Hopefully someone can help. My note is Rooted Ive been using TWRP. Everything had been fine until 2 days ago. I tried flashing a ROM i found on Goomanger.( I had been running liquid smooth) just wanted to try something different. Anyways it got stuck on a boot loop. Cant remember the name of the Rom. Anyways i was able to get back to recovery, thankfully. But when i wiped and flashed back to liquid smooth it would say optimizing apps, then it would reach a certain number then reboot and star all over again. So then i tried another Rom and the same thing happened. tried flashing back to stock rooted but it would turn on then completely crash and star booting up again. So finally i was able to flash paraandroid 4.1.2 and Gapps, but here is the kicker i have no service (AT&T) says cannot locate network, my IMEI is gone basically the cellular isn't working. Everything else works fine WiFi,apps, camera. Just cant make calls. I really need your guys help please.:crying:
If you have a suggestion please let me know, i hate using an old Iphone

Just odin back to stock. Get a complete factory stock image from the main sticky thread and flash it with Odin and Download Mode. There's a bug on one of the TWRP versions with 4.3-based ROMs that will put it into a bootloop by breaking device reboots. I was unable to flash my way out of the problem and was forced to do a complete reimage which solved all the problems and put me right back to clean-out-of-the-box state, then I reinstalled TWRP (though an older version before the boot loop bug) and re-flashed my custom ROM. The package I used was the stock image and Odin tool all in one .exe, just plug in to download mode and run it and it flashed bootloader, recovery, system, kernel, etc. all back to stock.

Thanks thats what i did, I just basically had to use KIES to use the emergency recovery, then root my phone again. My question is what version of TWRP causes this? cause i used the newest version i could find off GOO. My other concerne is, will it accept or be safe to use a custom ROM? Well i gues ill find out  THANKS AGAIN!
Everyone with the sgh-i717 is having problems with the latest TWRP and the most stable version is 2.5.0.0. Go with that one or you'll be starting all over again I imagine. And don't just stop at the download link in the OP's, read the thread and find out what's going on. The problems with TWRP have been going on for a while and the development threads have a lot of comments about the latest build causing problems. Good luck! :good:
