Hey everyone, I've been having problems with my headphones but they're not the cause of the problem. Sometime when I want to listen to music on my N7100 I plug in the headphones press play but no sound comes out. Once I remove the headphones, reboot the phone, open play music and insert my headphones again I can usually listen to music again. This problem also occurs in different apps such as YouTube. The problem comes randomly. I am running CM 10.1.3. I would be very grateful if the problem is/can be resolved. Thanks a lot!!!

That might be a software issue, so head over to the CM thread (if there is any) in the N7100 section and ask there. People will probably know what to do.
Will do thanks.

Hi,
In new gingerbread update when I am in my car using my mw600 as handsfree, I get a call BUT the earpeice is not in my ear. With the mobile not being in my immediate view I can't tell that there is a call.
Why? Coz the phone speaker doesn't ring when connected to stereo Bluetooth. This is since the gingerbread update on x10.
I tried cm7 by z and its a great Rom, also more importantly in regards to the above issue there is also a section in cyanogen mod settings which allows notification sounds to be played through phone speaker. I couldn't stay on this Rom because I wanted the stock SE camera.
My question is simple:
Can the stock Rom have any sort of tweaks to allow sound to be redirected to speaker when in handsfree mode?
Suggestions or point to any useful threads please.

Is that stereo Bluetooth? i.e using Bluetooth headset such as mw600? Also if u r using car Bluetooth, can you play music via car speakers from phone? If not then your scenario would be different to mine.
Also I must point that this is not a bug on my phone as I have experienced this with several installations of stock Rom.

Any one found solution to this ?
Curious if anyone else has noticed this / knows how to "fix" it.
When I have my headphones plugged in, the notification sounds (eg the default new message "whistle") comes out the speaker instead. The sound in the headphone (music) will mute during this. I've had to resort to turning the notification volume off during work hours, so the sound doesn't disturb others at work - surely these sounds should be coming through headphones while they are plugged in?
Hello,
I'm with the same issue! It's very odd...
Any thoughts about this? Btw, I'm not using stock headset (I'm not used to in-ear headphones).
Yeah add another +1 to this....!!!
Not tried with stock headphones I have a set of Bluetooth ones and I get all notifications through them .
I'll take look in settings .

Actually I double check again, theres a "notification" sound going through headset. the only problem is it's playing simultaneously with the phone speaker. Really annoying specially if I'm in the office cause others can hear the notification sound too.
An android bug, apparently

This is a long-standing Android bug that manifests on many, though not all, phones. Google for "android notification sounds headphones" and you find many complaints about it, and a Google bug report with comments going back to 2010.
There is a apparently an easy way to patch it if your phone is rooted (though I cannot find info on exactly HOW) and there is a script here on XDA for use with the Tasker app ($6 or so in the Playstore) that can address it.
Other than that, the only thing to do to minimize annoyance to your coworkers is turn notification sounds to silent when using headphones. There are volume profile apps that can do this automatically.
In this bug report https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6696 and this one https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=16667 it said that's a problem with ICS, that is supposed to be fixed in JB and that CM have their own fix for this.
Let's hope that S3 JB release will fix it.
this problem has been bugging me too..hope its fixed in the next update.

Hi,
I'm using AOKP rom and stock google music player (also happens on Apollo player) but when I get a notification while listening to music on my headphones, the music pauses to play the notification but when the music resumes the volume has decreased. It doesn't resume at the volume before the notification. To resume to the volume I was at I have to push the volume key. really annoying when getting heaps of notifications.
I've search all my settings and can't find anything related to it. I've also changed the 'Link volume" settings on and off but either way it doesn't help.
Anyone else having this problem or know of a fix??
Cheers,
Anand
That's a known issue and it will never be fixed as that part of the code is not open source.
This issue is being carried over from sgs2.

O OK thanks. Does anyone know if it can be fixed by using media player?

For people who care, I found a temp fix. Just put your notifications on vibrate or silent while listening to music.

Just curious if anyone else is having trouble with playing audio on 4.4 Roms. The music plays fine but I keep getting audio glitches throughout the songs at random intervals. I am running kitkang with viper4android. I don't think it's the audio mod because before I installed the driver on the latest nightly it was still glitching. Thanks for any input guys!

This happens with plugged jacks too? All aosp ROMs from 4.2 have had Bluetooth audio issues exactly like you describe, but none through the headphone jack...

Yes this happens while running through the headphone jack, I never use BT

Ugh I think this issue is a double edged sword, after more troubleshooting I found that switching lpa.decode to true stops the glitches but also makes viper4android stop working. I guess I'll just have to wait for things to get worked out!
Edit: Come to find out after even more screwing around I finally found the culprit.........my kernel settings were not allowing to clock speeds to jump up fast enough to compensate for the audio processing, wow do I feel silly. Mod's you can delete this if you want!

hi. I've got an L9 recently, compared to many negative reviews I'm satisfied with it, but when I listen to music via earphones, music sometimes skips for less than a second, usually once or twice per song, then it goes on from where it stopped. I have tried it on stock and cm11 too. funny thing is I have no problem via speaker, not even when I play big games like GTASA. As I said it's not something I can't live with, I'm just curious if anyone else has this bug. I'm using Panasonic inear earphones btw, with no DSP manager etc enabled. I have also tried several players. thanks for any replies.

still nothing? I will try player pro tomorrow, it has cpu priority and very high buffer size settings, hopefully those will fix it. also when I greenified every app in its hibernation list the problem mostly disappeared.. maybe also should try performance governor when listening to music.
It's just so damn annoying that a mid-range phone with 1gb ram has this bug, I also read many people with Galaxy Nexus have problems like this, which has a very similar CPU.
