A while back I rooted and installed safestrap recovery on my razr but never got around to installing a custom ics rom, and now my phone is unable to update to ics. So basically all I need is a little help getting pointed in the right direction to getting ICS on my razr.
Do you have xt912 or xt910?
With the xt910 (gsm) you can rsd lite with ics fastboot or update.zip
Evening you need can be found in the development section

Just like marconz said, I would recommend that you upgrade it using any fastboot images for your device, found here.
Please note that for most fastboot firmwares, you won't be able to downgrade your phone after upgrading it.

Hey everyone. So I have installed the OTA Jelly Bean update (4.1.2) on my XT912 and I want to go to ICS so I can have root and maybe try OTA RootKeeper. I know it "can't be possible" to downgrade, but there's one idea I have. In ICS, **I created an "update.zip" file. This was basically a backup of all my things... Can I use "update.zip" to downgrade my phone from Jelly Bean to ICS?** Thanks.

Anyone?? I don't need a real answer. At least a prediction.
My prediction is that it won't work due to the locked bootloader hence the kernel will stay jellybean kernel

Yeah that sounds correct. I just need to wait for a root method I guess... thanks. Hurry up with that root method, ppl!

You can keep waiting. Ill see the s4 and s5 before i see an unlocked bootloader for the razr. By which ppl with razrs will move on to another phone

Dear friends
anyone know how to unlock China XT910 4.1.2 bootloader? if it's ok,we can flash any other roms......
From what I know motorola razr bootloader can't be unlocked, that's why we have amazing developer like whirleyes who created BMM n hashcode's safestrap, so we can install custom rom in our razr

Hello,
I'm currently running Liquid Smooth 4.4.4 Official ROM on a Droid Razr XT912 Verizon version. I lost the backup I made using SafeStrap. Is there any way to restore phone back to stock 4.1.2?
