Picked up a 6400mAh Hyperion cell. Here are preliminary results. - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Just thought I'd brandish the results of this extended cell. This is its first charge.
GPS on. Sync off. 50% screen brightness. All the Samsung motion and eye tracker crap is off. Strictly wifi.
I'd get similar on times with stock cell. But I could never break 5 hour screen on time.
Sent from my SM-N900P

Before your post, I thought the anker 6400mah is made out of the same OEM.
Now that I've seen your results, it's confirmed. I think only the brand & sticker is different.
Nevertheless, it's a very good battery. I am still on 1st charge as well. Still haven't achieved 2x the stock battery but definitely is at least 1.5x
Hopefully it gets better.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

Interesting. How can you tell? I've never heard that those two use the same cell. :0
Well... glad I could inadvertently assist.
Sent from my SM-N900P

Both the extended tpu case as well as the back cover can be interchangable i believe. Also the on screen time as well as the standby time from your screen. And then, the price.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

Isn't that conjecture? It's on a observational basis. They have many similarites. Yes. But aside from that, what evidence?
What you're saying is plausible, but I'm not buying it entirely.

Anker portable AC/DC wall charger w/ 2 batteries, 14.99 in US from eBay! MANY PICS!

Hello XDA. Another post to try and help the community. I just received my order from eBay and wanted to share.
So I decided to buy some extra batteries to have on hand so as not to run out of juice. In the process, I also wanted a separate charger to keep them charged. To my amazement, I found the Anker charger WITH 2 replacement batteries for $14.99 shipped from a California seller!
I also ordered a Hyperion desktop dock that has a built in charger for an extra battery. This dock should arrive later this week but also a California seller off eBay! I'll post when that arrives.
Anyway, back to the Anker. Packaging is nice. It's in retail packaging as if it's sold in stores. Comes with instructions too! The charger is universal and can charge many different styles of batteries. It also has a USB port to charge another item while it's charging battery. The other nice thing is it will charge from a wall outlet OR a car charger! The mini USB plug is also on the side with the USB port. I'm not so sure on the charging pins however as they seem a bit thin and will require to be lined up every time a battery is inserted. The pins slide from right to left to allow for different size batteries. That's another issue. The battery for the Note is so big that it has to sit off to one side to allow for the charging pins to make contact.
The batteries are also retail packaged and come with instructions. They are White in color... Matches my Note.... And seem about the same weight. They are listed at 2500Mah but I have yet to try them out for longevity.
There are many pics I've taken to try and paint a picture as to what you'll get if you decide to order. Hopefully this will help someone who may want or need them. Any questions, let me know!
Here goes:

The seller is laptopmate_usa. I have no affiliation with said seller nor can I vouch for them but I will say, shipped fast and free. They have a great feedback too. I figured it might be faster for anyone searching for this deal if I gave the name of the seller.
Hopefully these items will work and provide long lasting performance. If not, it was only $14.99.....

let us know the life for one full charge plz...
I got something similar for my Xperia Play last year. I only wanted the charger but it came with two batteries and was only £10 or £15.
I expected the two batteries to be useless but here I am a year later still using them, sometimes for weeks at a time as my primary battery as I tend to charge my phone a lot so it helps keep the official battery good for longer.
The batteries are of course not as good as the official one, probably around 75-80% as good but I have been very happy with them so far. So even if these batteries are similar that is money well spent in my opinion.
i got it at amazon at the same price 14.99$ (2 batteries and charger) with GUARANTEE 2 days deliver! i'm a Prime member. maybe due to popular demand, they raised the price to 16.99$ on amazon now.

i just use it like any other battery, charge it and use it.
after i got these inexpensive batteries, i havnt use the original samsung battery!
these anker battery last me the whole day just like original samsung battery. (i charge it when i go sleep).
the only time i swap battery is when phone battery is getting low or i forgot to charge it.
I also bought this same Anker deal for my Galaxy S -- off the same guy. They seemed to work as well as stock, though I didn't do any testing. They were supposed to be 300 mah bigger then stock -- I didn't notice a diference. Funny thing is it was more expensive for the batteries for my Galaxy S that are smaller then these haha. Anyways I'm not a huge fan of the charger. It says in the manual to not leave your battery charging for more then 24 hours, so I assume that means it continues to charge the battery after it reaches 100% and you'll want to take your battery off as soon as possible to avoid degradation. The charger is also made for any battery so it has these awkward sliding pins you have to set on your batteries + and - each time which can be a little annoying. Other then that, great buy.

I got these from a seller on Amazon for 8.99 I think it was. Couldn't go wrong. I actually get better life from these than my samsung battery!
Well, first charge cycle was in the 10.5 hour range with 3:25 minutes on screen. Charged it from %1 overnight so lets see what day 2 brings. I leave the wifi on as well as GPS and I'm in an LTE area with so-so signal. My average life is 12-13 hours with 2.5-3 hours screen so if I get the same oit of these, I'd be just fine with that.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
got the same brand for about the same $, but for the Infuse. The batteries and the charger worked great.
Ok well charge cycle 2 is complete. About the same results. 12 hours total with 3:15 screen time. This was what I was getting with the original OEM battery. Off to cycle 3!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Day 3 brings 12 hour on batt with 3:45 hours of screen time. With crappy LTE signal , wifi and GPS on and updates every hour. Charged from %1 on the Hyperion dock I bought out of the phone. Will report tomorrow sfter 4th charge cycle. So far, so good!

Mugen Power 5400mAh Extended Battery for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717 w/ Battery Door

Mugen Power 5400mAh Extended Battery for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717 w/ Battery Door
Just got it in the mail today. I'll post more later.
First impressions are:
1) great sturdy battery door, very good fit
2) total height is approx 11 quarters (SEE PICS)
3) adds approx 9.55mm
4) Battery weights 97 grams (FYI, OEM battery weights 50 grams)
Day 2: The included instructions said to charge the battery (in the phone) for 8-12 hrs. So I just finished that step and will report in tonight with some battery stats. I hadn't looked for cases (I didn't use one prior to getting the Mugen extended batery).
Day 3: 25 hrs on battery w/ 25% left (with moderate to heavy use throughout the day and night). I'm a true believer that this battery is the real deal. The extra thickness is a drawback but the way the battery door tapers does help some. I don't know how to test the NFC capabilities with the new battery door, maybe someone can tell me a way to do this. The inside to the battery door sure looks like it has the NFC hardware built in.
Day 4: 24 hrs since last charge with 68% battery left (low to moderate use).
Power Brick!!! Hows the battery life compared to stock?
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
I like it... do you know if there any cases to support the extra size?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah have you found any cases? I guess I wouldn't mind then extra size for almost double their battery life. I'm guessing they Otter box won't fit on it? Also is it really that much bigger have you gotten used to it? Are all hopes lost for trying to fit it into your pocket?

How sturdy is the kickstand? Has the sound quality changed? Does it have the gold contacts for the nfc inside of the cover? Does it charge the phone and battery at the same time when plugged in? And finally, do you now walk with a limp with it in your pocket lol?

Reply: (Kickstand) The kickstand is sturdy (with no side-to-side movement when deployed at all). It stays in the battery door and only comes out when its pulled out. I guess time will tell if it stays this way. (NFC) Yes, the gold contacts are inside the battery boor. I still have not tested the NFC, mainly because I don't know how when running Gingerbread. (Charging) The phone can be on or off while the battery charges when plugged in. (Carrying Around) The size (the weight is fine) is taking some getting used to. I do like the way the extended battery door tapers.

REPLY: The battery life is noticeably more. The second night I was trying to drain it as fast as I could. After about one hour of tethering, video playback, max screen brightness, virus scanning, and continually syncing all running at the same time, the battery dropped from 35% to around 27% of charge left. I was trying to get the battery low so I could start another 8-12 hrs charge (per the battery's initializing instructions), but gave up and had to charge it the next day after lunch when the battery had 15% left.
Oh wow lol seems to be pretty good then so when you carry it do you put it I'm your pocket is it comfortable?

There is an app on the market specifically for the purposes of draining the battery as fast as possible. It does this by turning every feature on the phone on (LED for the camera, uploading data via the cellular network, screen brightness at max and several others as well), you can select manually which items you specifically dont want to use (for example, cellular data might be an issue if you are on a limited plan). You need to be careful however, draining the battery too quickly raises the temp of the battery VERY fast. I ran it on the stock battery and in 10 minutes, the battery temp jumped to over 50 degrees C (someone can convert this to F, right now Im a bit too sleepy to do the math) and drained the stock battery from 90% to 62% in this same ten minute period. Search the market for battery drain and look for a description that isnt in very good English, the screenshots will show a list of 5-8 checkboxes with things to do to drain the battery quickly.

New 3500mah extended batteries

Just saw these on eBay. They come with a different looking back cover and only cost about $10. I also saw a similar one made by Hyperion.. might be a good compromise between the oem extended (2750mAh) and the mugen (4000 mAh) if it's accurate..

Went for the Hyperion. Will report back.
Yeah it seems worth the risk of $10-15...the only thing holding me back is that I already have a diztronic extended tpu case and this new style wouldn't fit it. I might be willing to chop up one of my standard tpu cases though...I'll have to think about it..

I don't trust Hyperion. I bought a couple regular-sized batteries and one of them shorted out and overheated quite a bit. I have no problem with my Laza Zcell, which is also an intermediate between the HTC Extended and the Mugen
Truth be told I bought two of the standard size Hyperion batteries a long time ago that came with an external charger too. They were defective but Hyperion gave me a full refund and let me keep it all (I still use the charger). They told me they had been having some issues and something to the effect of "please give us some time to work out the kinks and we'll figure it out." They were very nice and helpful and I was impressed by there customer service so I'd be willing to give them another shot. (LISTEN UP HTC and Verizon! Good customer service helps in the long run! )
Edit: and no, I don't work for them or anyone for that matter!

Frankly, I'm surprised that Verizon's batteries aren't locked down so you can only recharge them on their cables and chargers. That's sort of the attitude they take with everything else they sell, isn't it?

Rezound via Tapatalk 2
bought a couple of hyperion standard batteries for the thunderbolt and they always died between 10-15%. Not sure I trust them. Also, that back door is fugly. I wonder if my stock extended battery cover would fit?
I tried the hyperion battery and i couldn't get any signal with the battery.
I liked the feel of the cover but the best signal I could get was 1x. even with the OEM extended battery and the hyperion cover.
The OEM cover and the hyperion battery seemed to also block my signal. Couldn't get any signal with any of the hyperion parts. I'm glad I didn't spend too much on it
Well that's disappointing...as I stated before, they were at least really nice about it when i tried their standard ones. I'm sure if you're tactful/polite they'll give you a full refund. Who knows, maybe that unnamed cheaper non Hyperion one works? I'm just a big fan of buying random cheap sh*t off eBay to see what I get. I've got some really fun stuff around the $2 range like a 3.5mm dust plug with a mini android in it, a gold stylus shaped like a feather, etc...but I digress.

Same happened to me with the back cover not getting a signal. This in turn caused the battery to die faster.

Lmfao, I do the same thing. I will give the unbranded one a shot when payday comes.
Yup. The Hyperion back seriously sucks. The OEM extended battery back fits well enough if the Rezound is in a case, though.
Finished my first deep discharge and will give it 5 cycles with the OEM back before passing judgment.

Well, if that's the case, it would still be 400 mAh better than the stock extended (ie 1600*2). And considering that I have almost no service at work I regularly kill my 2750 in 8-10 hours. Plus it would be nice to be able to listen to streaming music for more than 8 hours on LTE.

I am going to the trouble of actually running this thing down to near 10% before recharging (I don't want to go further because some ROMs have an anomaly where they misreport battery level). I've just finished my third discharge cycle and I'm getting 24 hours with active use of the handset, including media playback through BT, phone calls, texting, web access, etc. That's good enough for me, although I will follow-through with 2 more full discharges as instructed and see what my mileage is.
BTW, the battery works fine with the "original" Verizon Extended Battery back, so I probably will never use that crappy Hyperion back again.

Just received Hyperion 6200mah battery

Just got my Hyperion 6200mah better from Amazon for about 20 bucks with shipping. Used a dremel to mod my otter box defender like in the other threads which worked wonderfully. Currently doing the initial 12 hour charge cycle. Will post updates to battery life during the first four or five cycles and then do a final update once the battery has been broken in after the initial max to min cycles. Hadn't seen anyone else post any stats or review this one yet on here. I have an anker 6200 on the way as well so I will compare the two once I receive that one as well. Decided to test these two before taking the plunge on a 106.00 mugen 6400. Hopefully I won't have a reason to buy the mugen after these two are broken in.
Cool, hope the battery is good
Would you mind posting a link for how to mod the defender, im interested but cant find the topic

I don't think it tells you an exact process on how to do it but has pics. The way I marked for my cuts was to put the Hyperion in and place the back cover over top, lining it up exactly where the tabs fit in then flipping it over carefully and picking the phone up letting the battery come out exactly where it sits in the battery slot. I then used a marker to trace around the battery and used a cutting wheel attachment to trace the guide marks then smoothed the jagged edges from the cuts with the flat edge of the wheel. After that, I just placed the modified back into the backing of the otter box hard shell making sure to line it up exactly and then trace the opening of the stock back and then cut the guide marks with the same cutting wheel and just kept sanding down the edges of the cuts until smooth. Hope this helps
Unplugged the phone after the twelve hour initial charge at about 10:30am and have been constantly browsing the Web and downloading with live wallpaper and screen at max brightness. It is now 3pm and I am at 91% battery. I received my anker 6200mah today and have it on charge so once I drain the Hyperion all the way I will be starting my test with it also. Getting bored of messing with my phone but I want to try to drain this battery so I can try the anker tomorrow but I don't know if I will be able to. Maybe I will just loop a hi Def movie for the rest of the day or something. I need to fully charge and discharge 4-5 times to get the battery to max capacity but at this rate that will take forever lol. Will keep updating as the day goes on. This battery seems to be a beast so far though

Please do a review of both of the extended batteries once you get them all settled. Im sure its a pain to run that much battery down multiple times, but thank you for doing it!

Pretty darn good value and quality for less than $30. I'm excited to see how long it will last me. I never have wifi so my usage won't be as good as some but I'm still optimistic.

That's fine and that wasn't a"Oh wrong section" comment. I was actually trying to find a review for somebody and couldn't but had to search general and accessories because you never know. But I checked accessories first because there's where it should be. So all I was saying is to put the review where it should be so it's easy to find.

I am only on the initial charge on the anker but I have had the phone on since about 8 this morning and have been using it as I normally would at work and it is now 5:36 and I am still at 87%. Loving it so far. Btw I did start a new post in accessories but I will keep updating both I suppose.
I can't help but wonder how Mugen and Seidio get away with charging what they do for batteries....

Battery question

What is the largest reputable battery avail for the N3 and able to keep the factory backplate?
Secondly, what would be a good replacement battery with a replaceable backplate?
On my N2 I had the ZeroLemon 9300mah battery and loved it. Not having to charge my phone every day or worried about battery life was a blessing.
Interested in this as well

Lol on very few instances has the battery not lasted me through the day, can't say that about the 2 when I had it.

if you had a carrier branded note2 probably not, but if you had the international note2 it got better battery life than note3. and i never flashed anything custom on it. just rooted.

I had the 9300 Zerolemon with my N2 and loved it. I like the thin for factor but need function and usage over slim-ness. For instance, I took my N3 off the charger this morning at around 7 am and around 6 - 7pm I was getting a low battery indicator. In the N3's defense, I am on my phone all the time. I am always on the net, my blue tooth is always on (because I use it), I'm always getting phones calls and text. My emails are constantly flowing. Obviously I work off my phone (literally) so I need a battery that will carry me through the day and then some.
You should get a qi battery pack, if you are the type to set your phone down while working place it on the qi and charge it on the go.

It would be nice but at that price, I think I will just wait until Zerolemon releases their battery. It's 9th now and I'm taking my battery off the charger now. Lets see how long it lasts today
AceSoft has 3660mAh with default backplate. Amazon has sellers selling it but it is advertised as 3300mAh.

I know coming from a device with a 1700-2000mah battery, the newer N2 and N3 are great for their battery upgrades. As Ive said before, I had the ZeroLemon 9300 on my N2 and loved it. I am by definition, a heavy user. For example, with my N3 and stock battery, I took it off the charger at 9am this morning. Keep in mind my Location, Wifi, S Pen, heptic feedback, NFC, Sbeam and almost everything else are disabled as they are things I dont need. I do not use a live wallpaper. I do however used blue tooth, text, emails and my browser quite a bit.
So, off the charger at 9am and by 3.30pm I was at 23% and by 5.40pm I was at 15%
