I have noticed that on the Note 1 I717, any application that takes control of the camera freezes and then crashes. This has been happening on my phone since CM 10.1 was first released all the way up to the current nightly. Im not sure if it is an issue with my phone specifically or CM 10.1. After doing some research i've seen similar problems on other phones but no resolutions.Has anyone else experienced this issue with CM 10.1 on the I717?
Confirmed applications that crash:
Instagram
Fuzzy's receipt rewards app
Front Flip
My phone specifics
Model: SAMSUNG-SGH-I717
Android Version: 4.2.2
Baseband Version: I717UCLF6
Kernel Version: 3.0.72-cyanogenmod-ga23deb7 [email protected] #1
CyanogenMod Version: 10.1-20131215-NIGHTLY-quincyatt
Build Number: cm_quincyatt-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39E bb9d0aa005 test-keys
ditto.
crashes on apps like QR scanners.

Same Issue!
Hi,
I am having the exact same issue! 1.38gb in 2 days on ICS!! It was perfectly fine on Gingerbread. Anyone else have this issue or can help us resolve it?
Thanks in Advance
Hi all,
I am in a development team which develops an app used by millions of users worldwide. We get mysterious crash log messages all the time which happens only a couple dozen or even less devices which we can not directly reproduce while the vast majority of the users can use those features without problem. We suspect that in some of these cases some custom ROM or custom kernel causes the problem. Currently we get these informations from the hardware/software environment (in the parentheses there are examples from an actual crash log):
- Android version (4.0.4)
- Board version (SPH-D710)
- Brand (Samsung)
- System build number (IMM76I.FH13)
- System build ID (IMM76I)
I have a Nexus S with ParanoidAndroid, and on the About Phone page there are the extra fields I speak about (for example CyanogenMod version, ParanoidAndroid version, kernel version). My question is that is there an universal way to extract all or some of this information which could work on any device?
Go to settings and click about phone there will be the versions...

You misunderstood me. I know perfectly what kind of ROM is on MY phone, but I don't have access to every single phone and tablet which runs our app.
EDIT: The os.version system property seems to get the kernel version, but the other properties in System.getProperties() does not seem to have much use for me.
Did you find an answer?
EDIT: After a little digging I found everything shown in Kernel version of about phone:
On a N4 with Matr1x kernel, about phone shows this:
3.4.0-cfs-gb074426 <dev_email> #4 Sun Mar 3 22:47:55 CST 2013
This gets the initial version:
Code:
System.getProperty("os.version");
I'm pretty sure the date can be retrieved using this:
Code:
android.os.Build.TIME
3.4.0-cfs-gb074426
However there doesn't seem to be any other property that leads to the remaining version information, but this file has it all:
/proc/version
Anyone found a better way to get the dev build number, eg <dev_email> #4
Hello guys, A while back I bought this tablet Its branded "NozaTech" but over time its become sluggish and seems to be infected with advertising and some sort of malware.. Its even at the point where applications keep crashing and google play wont install anything else. I think it was shipped with a dodgy ROM, How would I go about finding what custom ROM that is compatible with this device? as I think it needs a complete wipe and a new spark of life. Also how would I go about installing it?
Model Number: V11
Processor Type: RFY-A33
Android Verison 4.4.2
Firmware Version: v2.0
Kernel Version: 3.4.39 ([email protected] #185

Find your device thread on xda, all supported roms for your device would be listed there
I'm new to the forums, though I did look around for a similar issue before registering to post this. Hope this isn't redundant!
Anyway, down to brass tax: I have an SCH-1545 from Verizon, and at one time had Hyperdrive 20 running which required the use of Safestrap. For a number of reasons I eventually went back to stock rom and being new to Android may have may a few crucial errors, though I haven't bricked my phone. I believe I've somehow flashed an improper stock rom, even though it does 'work' for the most part. The only problems are a few GUI bugs, mostly delays when using the keyboard, and the fact that when I try to update to Lollipop from the popup that incessantly invades my homescreen it fails and boots back into 4.4.2.
If anyone has any ideas or knows what I should do, PLEASE ask me any other information you need and help me sort this out.

If your phone doesn't update to lollipop then you are very lucky man. You should never update to lollipop because your bootloader will be even more locked with "Secure Download". This is mainly why i hate lollipop and all samsung lollipop smartphones.
Your Kitkat is very good i'm sure you do not want bugs so you would not like to update to lollipop.
A LOLLIPOP SMARTPHONE DOESN'T EVEN VALUE MORE THAN A SCREW.

So my S3 cannot download anything from google playstore. I have tried everything I can to solve it, no help. The error it displays is always the same: error retrieving from server.
Here is the information for the device: MODEL NUMBER: Z15A
Android version: 4.0
BAseband version:MTK6517 1,2G Cortex A9 Power VR SGX531 Camera 500W LCD 380x854
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #5
Software version: Z15A_20121221_T300_MLB1_F1BOM_V6.7.8
Hardware version 1.1.0
the phone became supersu and rootexplorer preinstalled and has android market and another android market.
That is a cheap chinese copy. Unfortunately i cannot support that device. All i can tell you is be careful rooting it as you will most likely brick it and there is no support for that device, especially a broken one.
As for google play.. Reinstall the framework apk and remove any 3rd party apps that interfere with it. Like the ones that claim to give free paid stuff..
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
