[Q] Is it possible to Spoof my personal CELL# while using EVO View Texting App???

Greetings Forum PEEPS!
Just a quick question... is it possible to SPOOF my personal line instead of my Sprint/EVO View #? Reason: As a Headhunter, I text my candidates ahead of calling/emailing them and I'd like to use my personal cell as my text number NOT my tablet #. Mainly for two reasons, I'm reaching out to people that may not be aware of me yet and I also don't want to confuse them with two separate #'s.
I have a 7-of-a-kind repeating phone number as my personal cell and it would be ideal to use that number.
Thank you for your help
Is your phone service with sprint? If so, you can enable Google tight integration and use Google voice. I send texts from my tablet all the time using my GV number.

Hello abhaxus,
I'd love to know the process as well. I too have Sprint service across all of my lines including my EVO View. I'm assuming you're saying using the texting feature via the Google Voice app? But NOT the Sprint stock messaging app. But is it possible to spoof the number that's assigned to the VIEW or ideally change the number in the settings somewhere. My main concern is if I send a text, I may get a call to the VIEW's # when I'd rather have it come to other Sprint phone (or the VIEW once I configure it to receive calls).
I'd really love to also be able to use the VIEW to make/receive calls... I'm going to do a search on these forums before I ask ?'s on that.
Thank you for your help
Basically, if you input your mobile number (for forwarding) as a Sprint phone number with Google Voice, it asks if you would like to integrate the services. If you say yes, you can use your Sprint phone number as your google voice number. Then when you use the google voice app to text, it will send the message as your Sprint number. Allows you to carry on text conversations across multiple devices.
This goes along with all the other benefits of GV. Make sure you set up screening also, which is a great feature if you use it for business. It will screen calls to your sprint number based on whether the person calling is in your contacts or not. No more "who the hell is this?" when you look at your phone

[Q] On/Off "switch" to use G Voice for calls/texts?

I might be asking for way too much but...
Is there any way to use a widget or app to switch whether I use Sprint or Google Voice to receive calls and texts? I know Sprint offers integration and can port your number an all. But I only want to use G Voice on an as needed basis.
Who knows, maybe it wouldn't even meet my needs. The reason I'm looking for this is because for whatever reason, while I'm in my office, I can't receive texts and barely get cell coverage... No one can, roaming isn't even an option. But I can connect to wifi.
google voice comes with an apps, u can chose however option u want. but it has to have a different number, cant be the same number as your phone number, if u take that integration, u need to remove it and then obtain a new number from google, then everything will work like a charm.

Without sprint integration, google voice can be used for texts only. The widget for google voice allows quick change for using gv to call or not.
I use gv for texts, have my gv number ringing under SIP, don't use gv for outgoing calls as SIP negates that.

Alright, so how do I toggle it on/off. I don't want to use it permanently. Just for texting is just fine too. What I want is to be able to have people texting (in this case now) my normal number be i guess forwarded to Voice. I just care about receiving because I miss a lot of important texts while in my office. you know, the ones that get you in trouble from certain people? lol
Well, I think I found SOMETHING. Haven't tried it yet. The HTC SMS app has a setting to forward texts to either email or another number (it's under the general settings). I'll see how this works out.
EDIT: Not exactly what I was hoping for but oh well. I suspected it wouldn't work, and it doesn't. The SMS app needs to receive it first. Doesn't even help if I can't get them in the first place.

If you login to gv from a desktop, you can set it to forward texts to your other number, or email. Look for settings, gear in top right corner.
Should be self explanatory

I'll look into this, but wouldn't I want it the other way around?

[Q] Google Voice and SMS?!

Hi everyone. I am soon going to get an unlocked phone(probably the upcoming Oppo Find 7 or the upcoming Nexus 5) and I am not going to get a plan for the phone. Instead I am going to be using WiFi to make calls and texts(a feature called Voice Over IP). I am going to be using the Google Voice service to be doing this. So I hear that the call quality for Google Voice is great but not so much the texting feature. Can somebody provide me with a texting service that allows you to send texts in the states and also allows you to send picture messages in the states. I am not looking for international texting. But if the app anybody recommends has that feature I wouldn't mind. Can somebody please reply fast so I can test out the texting application on Bluestacks(Android Virtual Machine) and see if I like it or not. Thanks.

[Q] Block all calls but a certain group.

I have a friend at work who has a lot of people calling him Contractors, Bank, etc. He is wanting all calls go straight to voice mail but a small group of people. We have found the call reject list but it would be easier to find and make a Non reject list as it would be easier. He is open to downloading a App if necessary. Thanks in advance!!
