Vibrant no imei!!!!

My samsung vibrant is fail. When i try *#06# the imei is null/null.I go in setting and the baseband is unknow.I try flash the original fw with odin and is ok.But the phone don't have carrier and only stay in airplane mode.He can log in wifi and go web pages but when i log in in market is error and clorkmod mode flash in error too.Can anyone help me.Thx!!!
He didn't try to unlock it did he??
You ever figure it out
I have the same problem. somebody please help me
I have the same problem as well, happens randomly on my vibrant. No service and imei null/null. flashing thru clockwork doesnt change it but odin fixes it temporarily.
I take it that nobody backed up their original EFS folder and files..
When rooting you had to back up your original EFS folder before trying to unlock your device!
EFS contains sensitive IMEI information.
I don't think you can recover the imei if you never backed it up to begin with.
So you might have null/null IMEI or even a fake IMEI 0000XXXX <-- something like that.

I did backup original EFS and restored as well. It shows my original IMEI but randomly my phone shows no service and my IMEI is reset to null/null. If I remove battery and reboot phone everything works fine until God knows when.

IMEI mismatch.

Help.
The IMEI under the battery differs from the one under service code. It looks like it's been messed up after flash'ing. It shows 004999010640000 instead of the correct one. I know the original IMEI, how can I restore?
Do you have a backup of your EFS folder? First thing you should do after rooting your phone before flashing a ROM.
Chris.

Restore the EFS backup you made. Hellcat's kTool on Google Play will enable you to do this.
No, I did not do a backup before flash'ing, I am just a newbie. I tried to use gs2 repair and other things, but they do not help me. It is still the same IMEI. However, everything on the phone works fine, expect the IMEI number.
Can I fix it on my own or RMA is the only way?

[q] 0000 imei / no network

I know I should not post this thread because there are other threads with this problem.
Yesterday I was having issues with Sotmax_Ultimate_Stock_V23_XXUFME7_HD_AR ROM. It became laggy, pretty unstable bla bla bla so I decided to flash a stock ROM on my S3. After flashing I rooted my phone once again ( followed the chainfire guide CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar ) and went to sleep. After waking my I saw No Service and my IMEI went to 004999010640000 tho my serial number didn't change. Now I readed the whole forum and I only found the way to get back to original IMEI is to restore EFS Backup that you done. I never done an EFS backup. Everytime I was flashing different ROM I only did nandroid backup if something goes wrong and I would get bootloops or soft brick. How to get my Network working again so I could make calls and get my IMEI back?

There is a big, fat sticky thread. Follow link in my signature to "sticky roll-up" thread. There is an "IMEI / EFS - Know this stuff" thread to read. Please read that then post in that thread if you are still having problems.

[SOLVED]Service problems after installing costum ROM

After having S3 for some months, I decided to update it to 4.3.
So I searched online and saw some tutorials how to root and install costum ROMs.
I read few tutorials to be sure how to do that and after all went good and the ROM installed, One problem has rised: NO SIGNAL!
so I wiped all and installed a ROM STOCK.
After that the signal came back "half way". It's showing signal bars but I can't call to anyone, even after calling to my provider...
I just don't know what to do. Please help

well these tutorial you've read were either very bad or you haven't read them correctly, because probably you missed the important step of the efs backup. see therefor the stickies thread or the thousands of similiar questions here in the q&a.

That is your backup flash with odin
( When you flashed a custom rom it probably backed up your efs some roms backup by default)
I would just backup your efs you have at the moment just in case you have problems flashing. You will then be able to return to how your efs is now even though it is not fully working..
Or try this app >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.ktool <<
The phone has to bee rotted to use ktool?
I also understand from the link you did about the EFS that there are two types of base bands and if I have an efs backup that I did on V1 baseband so I can't restore it on a v2 baseband, so my conclusion is to get back to 4.1.2... correct me if I am wrong

good that you found efs backup
yes you need root. or you use the recovery philz touch to restore your efs (then you don't need root, but a custom recovery).
well samsung roms based on 4.3 need efs v2, so you have to go back to 4.1.2 to restore your efs v1 backup.
if everything is working again, I would suggest you to use oding to upgrade to 4.3, because then everything should be updated correctly (but keep your efs backup, and make another one, just to be sure)
then you can try out again custom roms based on sammy 4.3
So what is the best option to restore it?
Because before I tried (while 4.3 stock rom was installed) the flash it with Odin but Odin always crashed when I was uploading it to Odin.
With kTool I tried before but when I am clicking on the button it says that it restored but he didn't asked for directory, when do I need to put it?
The same story with phliz, I also tried with this and he don't asks for directory, only asking whan the ending if the file-tar to bin...

Just extract the efs.tar and copy its contents to /efs.

Where is this folder located? I can't find it
and does it for xTool and phliz recovery destinations for teaking the recovery from?
Edit:
I found the /efs. I dind't know that I need to use root explorer...
I exchanged the files with my back up and suddenly instead of 0049 IMEI I got 0000 IMEI.
I tired also to flash a modem and also didin't work...

Hmm... try installing another EFSv2 modem, then do the /efs copying part again.
Suddenly after so restarts, the IMEI got back
But... The SN now is 0000000000
You'll need to correct the permissions of the files you've copied. Try searching for someone who already did this and duplicate what they did.

Ok,
I tried something new. I flashed a new modem, backed up a full backup and then installed a costum rom 4.3.
the IMEI GOT BACK! And even the SERIAL NUMBER!
But I think the serial number is not good because he has 16 or 17 (I don't remember) digits (numbers and letters).
But still i have signal bars but can't make or receive calls he says: "No registered on network"
For the finalle, I tried ARIZA patch but he Is stuck on 0%...
here I stopped, I really don't know what to do.
Don't use the Ariza patch once you've got your IMEI and SN back. Maybe try flashing a new stock version of Android with a EFSv2 baseband so as to not go through the copying fiasco.

Need help with efs

Hello everyone! I've lost my EFS and want to restore it, but i didn't make a backup and don't have any Z3X box and other...
That's my ask: please, can you make efs for IMEI 353314/05/548065/9 and S/N RF1D386WBOX and make backup or zip for PhilZ recovery 6.58.7? If you want, i can pay for this by paypal, but not a much)))
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Well, i install cm12.1 by archi with wipes, kernel wipes, installing boot by archi but I didn't make a backup efs(only system, data, cashe and modem). I'm using PhilZ touch.
I don't have a Z3X box, so i can't restore my efs. In my town has no any service-center for phones and i can't buy z3x box because it's too expensive for me(1$=50 RUB). Maybe we can do like that: install efs with my IMEI and S/N to another I9300 phone with I9300XXEMG4 modem, then backup efs or make zip/tar for installing efs by Odin or recovery?
First try to go back the original version you had before cm12 and see that if your efs is intact. Do not think z3x box everytime you fail with the efs partition. It is the last thing to do...
What version was installed before cm12?
I almost did it and now my IMEI is 0049... and S/N is another
Maybe there is still valid nvdata.bin.bak in efs to restore?

Oh, i forgot about one thing. IMEI and S/N is wrong, but i can switch acces point names and newtwork operators, but i can't call to anyone and USSD-codes isn't works(like *100#)
If you installed 4.3 and this happens then search for "patched modem and kernel for 4.3" and try to install them and see if you can call
