Strange. I flashed my update manually, I wonder if that's the problem.

App associations was left out of settings in the update....it can be renabled for rooted users
Some HTC apps install to data now on an ota (flashlight, calculator, and a few more) so if you flash a rom based on a /system only pull to update they will be missing unless added by the dev/modder.....if you took the ota they would be there of course

Ohh I was thinking it might have been something like that. Would flashing the two OTApkg zips work? Before I flashed the complete system update I tried the first OTApkg but the flashing failed
Edit: I tried flashing both any neither worked.
Edit 2: I opened teh OTApkg.zip and took out the Calculator.apk file and put on my phone. So I now have the calculator app, but I didn't see the Flashlight app or any others...

So I have the HTC flashlight app installed on non rooted phone. Why can't firendstream and other apps be done in the same manor?

Because Friendstream is still installed as a system app, which can't be overwritten without root. It's just hidden from view in the default.xml file.

Probably because Friend Stream already exists on the phone (it's in the "All" list) and you cannot overwrite it with another app without root privileges. The flashlight did not already exist, so it could be installed without any problem.

Perhaps you should ask in the movie2k forums since that type of site is excluded from discussion on XDA.

No, I'm glad you did.
Now everyone who reads this thread knows to steer clear of that site. I certainly wouldn't want anyone installing apps in the background and messing around with my Google settings.

That's interesting.
I've had Google+ installed on multiple ROM's and have never seen that app. And I didn't know that installing one app could automatically install other app(s).

Don't you know one apk can add two or more icons for different things? Like camera.apk in sense ROMs adds both camera and camcorder , like just gallery.apk adds gallery+camera on few jellybean. It could have been similar thing with Google+ though its not.
EDIT : I see you edited it yourself.

An icon is one thing, but it was referenced in one of the posts above as a Google+ settings app. It doesn't appear to be that but instead an icon that gives access to the settings in Google Play Services 3.0.
I just cleared data for the "Google Play services" app and now I have the icon in my app drawer.

Does anyone have a copy of those system apps that get deleted when unlocking the phone bootloader? I accidentally deleted them with the app removal wizard in the storage settings, and i don't wanna screw up the ability to install updates when they arrive. :'( would a factory reset fix this? I am not rooted or bootloader unlocked, I just removed the apps by mistake. Can't believe I made such a noob move after being here so long, lol. Can anyone help?

did you disable them or uninstall them. You have to be unlocked / rooted to uninstall them. It sounds like you just disabled them. If this is the case, go to the bottom of the all app list and you will see disabled apps. A factory reset will fix it as well.

That's actually not true. I was able to uninstall calculator, pdf viewer, tunein radio and soundhound without being rooted, and could have uninstalled ringtone trimmer and flashlight too, but i actually use them and didn't want to.

No you aren't flashing a rom you are just taking the APK's for the apps you said you uninstalled and installing them again. You said you uninstalled some apps that you want back right? so getting those apps from the Stock base Rom you will be able to reinstall them.

Somehow my HTC Music app is now disappeared from the app drawer. It still under /system/apps but I tried to reinstall it , I just receive an error. I was wondering if I could get someone to upload the apk so I can reinstall it. Also if there is any other apps that are needed like the widget, please upload them too. I'm running Android 4.1.1 on Sense 4.1, unrooted stock rom 3.16.651.3 710RD

Did you try clearing caches and reinstalling the ROM? (you wont lose anything)
Be sure to make a NAN'd first. Always a good idea.
He has stock unrooted... I don't think he can just run the apk without root access since it is a system app, just my guess, somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

Try this:
HTC music:
http://db.tt/xukNzhiU
Music enhancer:
http://db.tt/AtNKmT2b
Music widget:
http://db.tt/XapxQ7F8
You probably need root access, try and let us know, good luck...
Edit here is a flashable zip themed, but this for sure needs root access and hast to be done in twrp (custom recovery) :

With CleanRom it may depend on if you choose to install facebook in aroma or not
Do you remember how facebook was installed ?
I'm running CleanRom 6 and choose Facebook during Aroma install and it works fine with blinkfeed

I have the same problem and I think that is related to facebook updates because it's started to appear after last update or update before that. Hope they will fix it soon.

Pretty sure I just read in another thread someone was having a similar issue, and all it took to fix it was actually manually opening the Facebook app, and then trying the facebook tiles again. Sorry if I'm way off..
